Wow, Dan, thanks for sharing ‼️👍❣️ Have only had my 2004 HE 2 months and learning all I can about it. So when your old vlog showed up I watched. Related completely to your disappointment when new part didn’t solve problem. Wondered where some of those filters are. Now I know and will replace. One of the joys of these vehicles is they’re “old school”. My first car was a ‘49 ford that I could repair myself. Now as a woman of 79 I am overjoyed at the wealth of self help info allowing me to maintain what I can myself. So, again Dan, much appreciated 👍💕💃🐸💃
My filters were not plugged, but one had fallen down and hit and stopped the squirrel cage. Thanks, saved me a few dollars and the time and effort of doing something but not the right thing. Thanks again.
This is the fix for my problem. After trying everything with no luck I was about to buy a blower fan to see if it fixed it when I came across this video. This should have been my first choice but like an ass I got to technical and disassembled and tested everything first. I've gone without AC or heat for almost a year. Thanks for this video and it should be the first stop for anyone with intermittent heater/AC blower fan problems. Removal of the resistor/capacitor was a huge and unnecessary headache. You made my day I only wish I had found this video sooner!
I tested everything but the in-cabin filters...but when i did check them low and behold it started working!!! thank you thank you thank you for posting this video!
Same thing happened to me, turn it on and nothing. Sccowerd UTube and nothing I didn't already know. Just as I was going to give up and go by a resister and motor I found this video. Cleaned out the filter and BAM...........A/C started turnin. Thank Brother, you saved me a lot of cash.
Came across this video while looking thru forums for why my blower wasn't moving enough air. Thank you for this!! It's actually hard to notice the cover plate for the filter, but its easy to open. Thanks again!
like many others i thought other shit first pulled out the glove box sucks when 3 degrees unsnapped filter cover pulled out first filter full of yuk stuck fingers on fan spun freely turn on switch it spins you saved me alot of aggravation thank you for taking the time to post
Add one more to the list of cars you helped fix. I was about to replace the transistor, but saw your video first. Mine had a few pine needles stopping the fan. Thanks for posting.
Unbelievable! I tried this and guess what? It worked! Opened it all up, cleaned existing filter, turned fan to see that it was not frozen, and it turned on! But then after an off and on cycle it would not start. I have a dead spot in my armature BUT still most of the time it is fine. I will replace the blower motor but at least I have moving air now!
I have same issue problem with my crv99 i turn on my fan heater AC not working nothing is blowing thank you very much DANIeL for ur video i love u man u just help me how to fix mine i appreciate 😀
THANK YOU, you saved me a lot of money on my 2003 Element. BTW, people doing this should realize that the fan won't blow much air (and may seem still broken) until/unless the new cabin air filters are put back and and the cover replaced correctly.
Thanks this video was very helpful same problem and I found the filters but I didn't check the fan and then I watched your video and check the fan it was full of pine needles so thank you again very much
I have a used 2006 Element (bought in 2017). Never knew about the cabin air filters, so decided to inspect. Looked like yours. Never had any issues (or so I thought) with the heater or A/C, but after dusting off the filters and replacing (until the new ones arrive), the fan seems to be working but making noise. Not sure if the noise is new or if the fan wasn’t moving at all before!
Hey Daniel, gotta try this one my Element after work. Did you have the car/fans turned on when trying this, or did you remove the filters with the car off and then found it to work after starting the car?
I did the same thing just now. filter wasn't the issue though. I just stuck my finger on the fan and it kicked on. it was just stuck a little. filter is dirty and I will probably replace it also.
I just changed my cabin filters - the blower fan still not working. I will have to test that heater resistor next. The fan did have a handful of leaves .... and turns freely.
Yep changed resistor,. Cleaned filters vaccumed the squirrel cage,. Held down the 2 bottoms on left and right knob to reset and nothing. All my compinents work but FAN doesnt come on
