Me an my wife watched this once. We were both confused. Still not really sure what the premise of this was.

I just watched this movie and was looking for reviews and analyses and came across this video from 8 years ago! PBH is such a lil peanut in this! 😅

It had elements of Invasion of the Body Snatchers, and other influences, very creepy. It came out on my birthday which just added to my need to watch it the day of release.

U should review We Are What We Are. It's a very subtle movie, some people even consider it a drama, but I think is more of a thriller with some gore at the end. Ita kinda slow, it builds up to the good parts, but I actually really liked the ending. You should also try Stoker, it's amazing.

I was watching that disturbing bit... with the whole... thingy-malingy out of the thingy-malingidy (people who've watched it will understand) and it was there that I suddenly became aware of a certain region, my body became jell-o, and I hid my face.

Thanks for the review! I loved this movie. Really refreshing take on horror imo. More of a sense of horror than jump scares as you said. The build up of her losing herself and the husband trying desperately to figure out what's going on felt very realistic. I also loved the ending. I'm not sure why people are so upset by it. If you want all the answers to everything spoon fed to you, then don't watch this movie. If you like suspense and stories that can be left up for interpretation, then check this out.

I watched this movie last night and it gave me nightmares

Hey Sarah! I'm just curious, have you seen Rosewood Lane? Just saw it today on Netflix and I highly suggest you watch it! It was like this movie, what with the subtle horror. It was very unique and it's VERY unsettling. It's SO unique and cool!

Sarah, you should totally watch Penny Dreadful!! The male lead in this movie plays Dr. Frankenstein in Penny Dreadful

I thought it was an absolute gem. Definatley a unique horror that you can only kinda understand if you're married or getting married. I thought it was very sad

i cannot remember if this is the movie when she goes to the supermarket and eats the meat raw, and you see the supermarket camera footage? if its not, and you know what I'm talking about can someone please let me know? its been bothering me for ages!

I just watched this movie in 2023 and it's interesting to think about the interpretation of a movie at this point in time from when it was initially released in 2014. If you've seen it already, you know what happens at the end. If you haven't seen it, than you may want to skip this spoiler alert commentary. I thought the movie could unknowingly be a reaction to high profile cases such as Scott Peterson, Drew Peterson, Chris Watts, and Brian Laundrie who allegedly murdered their wife/girlfriend. And some of those cases happened years after the movie was released. Well, what if the roles were reversed and the men were murdered for this movie? That actually happens quite a bit in real life (percentage is a bit higher for murder of a female partner though) and honeymoon murders male/female do happen, just google it. And I'm not saying this is a female empowerment theme at all in Honeymoon, in fact the wives were victims just as much as the men. The memory loss, forced pregnancy, lack of free will, and body horror made it tragic for the women too. I did think the alien/supernatural plot device was clever and gave us a reason to explain why a spouse would murder their partner who they loved so much. Most of us in real life can't wrap our heads trying to understand how someone could murder someone they pretended to love for years, especially Peterson and Watts who also murdered their own children. So blaming the monster aliens is easier to comprehend than humans being monsters, at least for me. I also just watched Rose Leslie in Morgan, oh boy that one doesn't end well too.

Yess! I agree. It was slow to start but I ended up really liking the film for it's suspense and I thought the acting really stepped up about 20 minutes in. I kinda loved the end 'cause... (aliens-coughcough-aliens)
