THE BOY 

You know, I never see movies about fake child feaths where the child grows up to be like, a totally normal person who needs to hide. I wish Brahms had come out of the wall wearing a fitted suit smoking a cigar, glad that he doesn't need to hide from her anymore because reading Edgar Allan Poe by candlelight on the basement was hard on his eyes.

I actually got attached to the doll Brahms as some misunderstood little boys "spirit" if you will, living inside the doll. When it turned out the doll was meaningless and there was just a creepy huge man living in the house I hated it haha.

90% of the time I predict the ending, what I liked about this movie was that it was a surprise for me the guy behind the wall, that's it, pretty entertaining for a Sunday afternoon.

I haven't seen The Boy yet. But _Gone Girl_ has some horror elements.

I would've loved an ambiguous ending. Like you wouldn't know if the doll was possessed or just a doll whose parents were obsessed with it. They don't have to show the monster/person either, although I think audience feedback usually is that they prefer to have something concrete to be scared of. And then they're disappointed anyway.

Honestly when the doll Brahms brought her the sandwich I was hysterically laughing, that part totally messed me up for some reason. That and when you see the hand come out of the wall, I was basically like "fuck NO" and high shriek-laughing

After watching this movie, I kept connecting all the dots and every time I analyzed it, the plot got creepier. The film really makes you think. I saw the movie Saturday and still cannot stop thinking about it

i usually don't like supernatural horrors but for some reason in this i LOVED the haunted doll thing idk i just really found it creepy and the parents being afraid was interesting, that is until we found out the plot twist and i was just like no fuck that

The Boy has the same twist as a way better film called Housebound (2014) and that made me hate it so much

VVITCH LOOKS SO GOOD OH MY LORD I saw the Boy last night and something about it scared the fuck out of me?? Like I've seen terrifying rated R movies and after I'm like eh??? But something about that for some reason made me sweat 😂 But that plot twist tho Like holy fuck I feel like grettas character development was slow af and once you found out her past it was way too fast But I think once I pieced together the plot I was like SHIT They hid him to protect him cause he killed that little girl and that's why the parents needed a moment alone w him at the beginning and shit idk It was a good movie but definitely not at all what the trailers lead it on to be

holy shit thank you for not liking this movie, I watched 3 other reviews and they all loved it and I did not dig it, thought I was going to be the only negative review

iiiiiii absolutely hated this movie and i felt that the ending made the entire plot not make any sense. They had the doll to sort of "replace" the son who supposedly had died in the fire 20 whatever years ago. In the beginning the old woman mentioned how you always had to put your extra food/leftovers in that bin and how they never threw out any food which was weird but once finding out in the end that the son had obviously been alive the entire time it made me think more. They sent that letter to their son because they knew he was actually alive, which makes me assume all the leftovers were for him as well. If he was alive the whole entire time.. what was the point of having the doll? It didnt all add up in the end and i was very disappointed.

The only good thing in this movie is Lauren Cohan ♥

To be honest I was kinda disappointed, the ending was quite predictable.
