Luxury palaces for astronomical prices that most of us can only dream of. That's how the richest Czechs live. Where in Prague can you find their fabulous mansions? We'll find out in this episode of Live Prague.
See with us how the owner of Třinec Ironworks and Agel network Tomáš Chrenek, coal miner and owner of Sev.en Energy Pavel Tykač, real estate tycoon and owner of Sekyra Group Luděk Sekyra, where the eccentric mathematician and founder of RSJ Karel Janeček lived or where the passed away businessman Petr Kellner had his villa in Prague.
The preserve and the Baroque chateau
Tomáš Chrenek is based in Prague's Koloděje, in Podzámecká Street. You won't miss his home - it is a baroque chateau whose history dates back to the 14th century and where T. G. Masaryk spent Christmas. In addition, the chateau has a 665,000 m2 deer-park preserve, which its owner, who is a passionate hunter, can certainly appreciate.
The seat of a monument
Pavel Tykač built his modern palace, designed by architect Vít Máslo, for 400 million crowns right next to Grébovka, in Perucká Street. This mansion, which is unique in that it is largely underground, also includes a 2-hectare plot of land. Interestingly, the building was built on the site of the original historic Villa Marie, which mysteriously burned down twice in a row and was then demolished despite the opposition of the conservationists...
Villa with views of the Castle
In Pod Havránkou Street on Trojský vrch you will find a luxurious villa designed by the famous Czech architect Eva Jiřičná and occupied by Luděk Sekyra. According to its owner, the ultra-modern building is one of the most valuable projects he has built. Although the land around the villa is slightly smaller than the previous ones (around 3,000 m2), the views of Prague Castle are unforgettable.
Mathematician's villa for sale
Karel Janeček is currently selling his Prague residence - he has moved from his villa in Prague 5 in Nad Výšinkou Street to a larger house outside the city. The villa is being sold for a clearly stated price of CZK 137,212,731 and is said to be in great demand. The new inhabitant will be able to enjoy, for example, a swimming pool, a wine cellar, a Jacuzzi, a home cinema or a parking floor.
A park with courts instead of a school
The passed away Petr Kellner owned, among other things, a villa in Hanspaulka, in Na Viničních horách Street. Right next door was the Hotel Praha, which the billionaire bought with the surrounding land and had demolished , so that he could build a private school in its place. However, the authorities did not allow this plan, and so the 75,000 m2 of land gradually turned into a park with tennis courts. The land is worth tens of billions and is probably the most expensive family residence in the Czech Republic.
