Jimmy, you are crazy! That’s why we love your Chanel. Seriously, when I got my private license in 1979 we were flying 10 year old aircraft. Now you are bringing these back to life. Not many of us can afford a new aircraft. You are bringing aircraft back to life, that an average pilot can afford, and safety fly. Keep it up, we enjoy!

I was learning how to Fly about 50+ years ago. And, as "the new Kid" I just loved to listen to the "War Stories" constantly being told by the "Old guys" around the hanger! There was a Lady pilot who was teaching flying in Hawaii in the late 1930's. And (of all days!) she had a student up, on one of his very first solo flights, on the morning of December 7th, 1941. When the attack began, this poor guy, in his early 20's, didn't know what to do! (None of the Trainers had radios back then!) So he just tried to put the plane down anywhere. He wound up "cracking up" in a farm field and was seriously injured. Poor guy never flew again! Some of your "misadventures" remind me of the kind of History those Older gentlemen always related to us "New Kids" back then. Point of fact, most of the Trainers or Rental planes I flew back then either had NO RADIO or if it did, they were always broken! And even in the mid 70's when the newer Rental planes did have a radio, NO ONE ever used a headset. You had a hand Mike and a cabin speaker. And that was how I flew for my first 1000+ hours!

I too am into Aviation and enjoy spending time up in the air with my wife and kiddos. I personally can't afford to purchase a updated plane at this time (kiddos about ready to go to college) but until I can, I enjoy watching you take something that was once forgotten and give it life again. As a big gust of wind took my drone up into the tallest pine tree top this evening I decided to come back inside and watch aviation videos. It is about 310 yards away from my front porch and it is night now. I still go out there every once and a while to check up on it and it is still blinking green and white in the distance. My heart condition will deny me a pilots license but it is still OK to dream and watch others. Others will say "maybe you should stay on the ground" Probably right! God Bless All!

Jimmy excellent choice in colors on the wrap, looks 200% better. And yes you can wrap an airplane legally, we have in the past wrapped an entire helicopter, only draw back is at the annual you have to pull it all off for the inspection, but it works out as the boss wants a different color anyway. Saving the 310 is going to make a lot of people happy including me as I have a fondness of the old straight tail 310's. So you say your going down the path of a jet in the future, just remember with a turbine powered airplane the cheapest part of owning it is buying it! Maintaining it is a whole new level of costs, just do me one big, big favor; DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT buy a Hawker, they are a night mare to work on, trust me I know. You should maybe look at warbird, would kind of cool to see you bring back one of those to the skies.

Glad the 310 can be restored to airworthy condition. From the first video my concern was corrosion in the center section. Never imagined the expense involved in replacing the props. It has been a long time since I had a new Hartzell prop and governor installed in a Bonanza for approximately $2,000. Having flown a '56 model 310 back in the day when both the airplane and I were much younger, still remember what a nice handing airplane it was. Had flown 3 or 4 later model 310's prior to the '56, all were good, but the original was fun to fly.

Great video, lovely aeroplane, great insights. 👍😊 My family and I have long supported various military charities - we're a military family basically, or were. What's struck us during the pandemic are two things:- 1) Two main UK charities are sat on huge amounts of cash, whilst some veterans are living rough (nothing being done about such by said charities). 2) Even with the good charities and the fact that our boys and girls sign up for service/military action, it's our govts that send them to war, govts that we all, one way or another, fund, said govts then do the bare minimum to help or rehabilitate veterans, and only then after lots of lobbying. What a criminal act therefore for govts to send people to war and not then pick up the pieces afterwards. The pandemic has made me rethink how things are done and how they should change. A great 'reset' IS needed but not the one driven by govts and tptb, but by the people, for the people, of the govt! Not by and for tptb (govt et al)! We are many they are few and they abuse privilege and power.

Hi jimmy I was watching cleetus and cars and you came on with a 50 cal gas gun I was so impressed I gave your youtube channel a glance 12 hours later I pulled myself away from the screen and went to sleep I couldn't wait to watch more of your videos so I subscribed clicked the bell and liked every video I have watched from start to finish I don't own an aeroplane but have flown microlights under instruction in the UK where I live we were travelling at 85 knots And I had such a blast I flew it for 4 hours at 9000 feet and it's so weird you can't tell how high I was, as a 1000 feet looked the same as 9000 feet to me at first the altimeter told me the correct hight we did fly up to 11000 feet for a spell to clear rough air if i had the money i would do it in a heartbeat as it was my best friend who took me up in his plane and sadly he is no longer with us through a motorcycle accident and i miss him dearly so I can see why you are so hooked to flying until you have done it there is just nothing to match it well maybe one nudge nudge say no more so all the best jimmy from john from Rugby Warwickshire UK.

My father was a rancher/beef/horse trader, and kind of a car nut (street rods, corvettes). Later he bought an old Cessna 180 (?) for 8G. He never had a license and kept it under a lean-to of the barn. I always found it odd that he was afraid of heights but had no problem going up. I kind of lost touch with him his last few years, but I had heard from mutual friends that he’d traded it for a small herd of Mexican Corriente steers down in Agua Prieta MX. Knowing his penchant for unsavory characters, I’m sure that plane became drug running vehicle.

Love the videos and have always been a fan of aircraft. Being retired Army I enjoy the jokes too! Lol. All jokes aside, I’m big into motors and anything that makes power. Watching your videos has shown me a whole new side of aviation. Getting to see the small parts and little bits and pieces that can make or break a plane or any vehicle for that matter, its nice seeing these older planes coming back to life. Keep up the great work! One last question. I know everyone has a different opinion on what someone should start with, do you have any opinions pertaining to what type of aircraft such as a Cessna 152 or 172 as well as the condition? I know I see a lot of the planes that are out there and for sale with prices that vary depending on what you’re getting, just like a car. Being mechanically inclined, working on something is not an issue however some thing with four wheels and some thing with a propeller I imagine has it’s differences.

Hi from the Uk. As a vet I find non vets a pretty sad bunch - they have no imagination, spontaneity, and cannot understand that it can be fun for yourself and others (RU-vidrs) to spend sixpence on something worth tuppence ( it’s a old Uk thing) just for the pleasure of seeing the end product. My family motto is “nil iligitimi carborundum “ - (don’t let the ba**ards grind you down). I bequeath it to you inpertuity.

Jimmy ! Wat up ? Really enjoy your blog. Flying has been my go to place when the ptsd and or depression hits. I used to fly with friends as a young adult but have never been able to afford one on my own. That being said, I live thru others who can. Great job, keep it up !

RU-vid, with its ability to get people together to crowdfund things, is absolutely the kind of place for fun projects like the 310 that in a 'normal' situation would be a terrible business decision.

A fast morph into one of my favorite channels...love your stuff...Now if you would only do some older, taildraggers or maybe get into some fabric-covered aircraft like the Viking I would be a happy camper.

Just like one of the others told them how it worked and what to do!!!! I truly believe that somewhere there is a great big sign pointing at our house saying ALL WAYWARD KITTIES WELCOME!!!! That MU-2B in the background there. 😊 My dad used to fly the MU2 as a corporate pilot before he retired. He was a pilot for 50 years.
