My first backflip was at school waiting for the bus on a snow pile I was just like “Ya I’m going to do a back flip” Bam did a backflip Never did it again
I learned how to backflip for a talent show then never did it again lol Edit: I was like 13 and it was during a choreographed dance. I didn’t just go on stage, backflip, then walk off lol
Me tooo but for me I put plastic bags on my foot to slide on the carpet I slid too fast I flipped and landed it luckily I didn’t break anything and never did that again 😂
Haha, I did & lol -rolled from sofa to ground reading this comment. Does that count? On a serious note, this man makes obese me get out & do something about that weight i am carrying
I choose my words carefully...the backflip has always been a goal of mine since childhood and to see somebody commit to helping another person realise that to fruition has increased my love and respect for this coach immeasurably
No skippin steps and breaking necks. The thenx crew took the time to put this very detailed video together so take your time and put in the work. Awesome job on this highly anticipated video 💯
Maaan, this is the best backflip tutorial video ever on RU-vid. I have been trying to backflip for 3 to 4 months now, didn't even get close to tucking in the aur. But after watching this video, I have gained back confidence for the backflip and I really think I will get it in 2 weeks or so. THANK YOU SO MUCH CHRIS!
You can also just do it the stupid way. The way I did. 1: Do it from about 1 meter into water. Get that nailed. 2: Do it from 1 meter onto grass. Or snow. 3: Do it on a steep slope onto flat grass. Start pretty high and gradually decrease the height. 4. Do it flat onto sand. Get that down and try on grass. 5. Do it on concrete.
@@dillonjoshua2342 pretty sure he fell on his arms , if he fell on his face he would've broken his nose. Padded matress all you want, that's still your whole bodyweight smacking on the ground
Hi Chris, started looking at your videos last year and have really enjoyed them, started training at home using your tips and am seeing good progress. Hope to muscle up and back flip in the near future, i'm 53 yrs old next month but believe it's possible.. thanks for the inspirational videos and the encouragement you give, keep it up.. Chris. Dublin, Ireland.. hope you guys come to Ireland Sometime 😉
you are so professional to be a teacher to give educate the important lessons very well, from each of your words, you always provide extra safety and continue to warn if you miss all the steps, you may be forever unable to do it again, because already hurt,it's very good, your tutorial is very useful and very helpful to the all guys, just if I may comment, where you give the lesson in this video is quite dangerous cause it's very near to the iron which when people do uncontrollable flipback can land with head hit iron, but overall, your lessons are very best and special,I really like the lessons give for all,you are the best,I want give you ten aplaus👏👍
I have so long wanted to do a backflip, the last time I tried I’d a ligament crack and I wasn’t able to walk for a week. Five months from there, now I have a better core, back, leg and movement strength. And I trust Chris Heria, so I’m not gonna get into this again until I get a good flip trainer.
This is very VERY GOOD spotting technique akin to how they teach to younger cheerleading but these techniques are applicable when spotting an adult. Great Job.
I have no practice partners and always doing muscle ups/spinning muscle ups etc solo. Took some damage at times lol. But flips are so hard. I have a winged trap so my left shoulder is longer then the right. When I flip using hands. I always flip crooked. Like a round off. I always twist to the right naturally. Doctors say nothing wrong just cause they don't see or feel anything. Any suggestions?
i was 12 years old and my older brother was 14 and we did all of the progressions like a 100 times and we help each other for the support, I helped him he helped me now thanks to Chris we can do backflips on our own, Now i am already 14 and my brother is already 17 and we still got it.
Have you learnt by doing this technique or .. ? I always wanted to learn how to do it, I think I will give it a try by doing this steps with some friend/support ..
I’ve never landed on my neck.. I even bailed mid flip to see if I would land on my neck and I didn’t so just start doing them into a foam pit then progress to ground
its just commitment! if you fully comit to the flip you will get all the way over. its not hard at all you could be 300lbs and still do a backflip. i am working on double backflip on ground.
Think about it like this: once you initiate the tuck, your head is almost fully done with rotation. You immediately look back, upside down, and once you can see the floor, (~30% through the flip) the momentum of your body weight will make it physically impossible to fall straight down into your head. You could severely under rotate and land on your face, but the impact is minimal, and your lower body, feet and arms will feel most of the impact against the ground, as they are on the farthest outer part of your body’s rotation.
been watching your video from the earliest one since the last month,I can see the growth, whatever the studio ,shooting skill, line, session speech....even Chris training achievement .thx 4 inspired me some thoughts 😉
The worse part about back flips is that they are so God damn easy, just frightening to think about. P.s I'm learning how to do mine in a pool... Gotta improvise for not having a spotter 😂😂 and it almost never hurts when I land. But hey, I can actually do the backflip I just gotta get better form now.
“”AM I THE ONLY ONE”” that thought Brian would master this right away??...since he was doing so great in the beginning and getting so many complements....I felt so bad for ( Zay...) but he was very humble and did pretty much on his own in the end...good stuff! WHAT I LEARNED from this video.... Don’t ever give up, even if you think people are doing better than yourself... in the end you will get the results you’re looking for, If you consistently doing what you are supposed to do! “””Another great video Chris!”””
I didn't learn with a spotter myself years ago. But when I instruct others now, I do so in this manner encouraging the proper way with the spotter. Go stuff bro...
I used to be able to do 3 backflips in a row but ever since my cousin told me I could die if I land on my neck I said "Hell nawww g" and I was never able to do it again even if I tried. But thanks to this. Im progressing. Thx Chris and also thx for my 6 pack abs.
Wish there was a proper calisthenics gym in Durban- South Africa. Been gyming for 3 months as a newbi and over the past 2 weeks ive warmed up using your app techniques and it just makes me want to focus more on calisthenics, it's greatly helped my strength and endurance and abs are showing quickly. I surf, skate and used to do karate, so body weight and balance training really resonate with me. Calisthenics isn't even a thing here which is a shame. Thanks for the great content and your respect/discipline towards your art-form👌
