I applied for a gender recognition certificate which means a change of legal sex, and the sex on my birth certificate. Gender Recognition Information: www.gov.uk/apply-gender-recog... Follow me on insta: / jammi.dodger
I’m a straight cis female that grew up in a close minded small town and I’m super interested and intrigued in the LGBT communities because I just don’t know very much and want to fix some of my ignorance. I have absolutely no hate or prejudice, just curiosity and I don’t know how to keep from accidental insulting people face to face if I want to learn more. RU-vid is pretty educational though and I have definitely learned a lot more than anything we ever see in my small town.
I've applied for my name change and gender change in May last year and on Monday I met a judge who confirmed everything so in a few weeks I will be able to get a new ID with my name and gender 😍😍
Biologically female, yes. Mentally, socially, and legally? No. What purpose is there in saying he’s a girl when that’s not applicable in any situation other than medically? That’s his business, not ours.
Me : am I crying? My brain : yeah you’re crying Me : SHAABA AND JAMIE WILL BE MARRIED 😆🥺😭😭❤️ !!!!! P.S. : I listened/watched the entire video and understand what you said but I’M SO HAPPY 🥺😭❤️😆
JAMMIIIEEEE ELEGAKEHKSSHJSB I’m so proud of you, so so proud. I’m a trans male and you’re such an inspiration to me. Eeeehhhhh I’m so proud I’m gonna cry.
My school is now gonna punish people for being homophobic and transphobic (and racist).. it’s amazing.. people would say horrid slurs as “jokes” and it made me happy hearing my business teacher (also head of safeguarding) saying it.. everyone got pissed because they’d get punished for “joking”... uhh it’s offensive to people? The teacher kept making eye contact with me. She knows. A incident to do with someone being transphobic to me got reported to her 😂
in norway they changed the rules, so now you can just legally change it without any proof. you just send in the application form, then they send a new one back to you so you can confirm. i haven't started testosterone yet, but i am legally a man :) a few years ago you had to prove it by removing your fertility. it never cost any money though. the whole legal process took about two months, maybe three for me. it's way simpler than what you had to do before being legally a man
Its about good damn time im so freaking happy also best wishes to every trans individual keep fighting for the right to be who you really are and identify as whatever you feel you are. ❤❤❤
"only" two years? In Germany it's three plus the costs per the two counselors are hefty... I am quite envious but maybe the laws here will change over the next two years...
Honey, I'm in Russia... If the psychiatrist you see for the first time, for some reason decides you're just crazy, you'll never getting hormones|surgery|legal changes in documents
In peru is not even an option i think that in the entire country there’s only 2 cases of trans people that have their sex changed from their id, just to change your name takes about 3 years? And a lot of money! Also! I hear a lot in Jamie’s videos about Gender Clinics? That’s crazy! Because here that’s is not going to exist at least in a thousand years 🥺
Do you need to be out as trans or live as the gender you identify as for three years? I'm German, too (just writing in English in case other people wanna read this, too) and wanna legally change my name in the near future. I'm lliving as male since December 2017. Does this mean I have to wait until December to change my name? Or is it just when I wanna change things like my birth certificate?
@@Levi_is_Smol from my understanding it's the same for both because they are part of the same law and I think I read you need to have had the wish to live as your true gender for three years, however I don't know how that works
@Levi actually you don't have to LIVE as male several years before in Germany. It is sufficient to IDENTIFY as male for 3.5 years. I am German. I have felt that I was a guy for many years. I started living as male when i turned 18 in summer 2017. I started therapy in March 2018. And in summer 2019 my name and gender were officially changed. So, no you don't have to wait that long.
I just want to thank you. I have not had the opportunity to know any trans people. However I'm a pre-service teacher and I am aware of a few students in my region that are trans. Since I wasn't informed on people's experiences, I've watched many of your videos to learn about your perspective and to help me be a better ally to my students. I really appreciate you sharing so much about your journey to becoming who you were meant to be. While I do not identify as a male, I had a lot of issues trying to figure it all out when I was growing up because I did not resemble anything like what my mother deemed was what girls like and do. That is the closest I have to personally understanding what you have gone through in your life and it is so miniscule to the battles you must have fought mentally prior to allowing yourself to be the man you are.
I did not expect to cry as soon as i clicked the video I'm so happy for you I dont even know you personally but i cannot stop the tears lol i wish im kidding
Jamie: "I talk about jumpers a lot" Jamie: proceeds to list all the other names for Jumpers to be language inclusive Jamie: Anyway, this video isn't about jumpers.... You are SUCH a Hufflepuff and I love it 😂❤️
Congrats Bro !!! Sending love from Mississippi!!! I’ll be so glad when mine is done !!!! I got lucky on my marriage license and it says Husband and Wife :-)
Thank you so much! On behalf of my son that's been really helpful for me to get him through the process, I'm glad your video came up at the top of my search. It wasn't 'boring ' as you feared at all! I thought you did it in a very upbeat way with a lot of hefty information that you somehow made sound less scary than I'm sure it was for you at the time! So thank you for being there to help us! 💙
I really appreciate these videos, while I'm a cis straight female myself I find them really helpful as I'm a med student and want to educate myself as much as possible so I can help as many of my future patients as possible no matter what their background. I never want to be the doctor that harms someone's mental health so thank you for helping me with that
Hi Jamie!!!! I'm in year 10 working on a sexuality and gender identity project and find your videos very helpful! If you know any other trans creators that post informational content about transgender individuals please let me know :D I'm trying to watch as many videos and email (if they'll let me xD) as many people as I can so that I don't make any errors. Also if you know anyone who has business emails open that wouldn't mind a mini email interview also please let me know, I'm on the hunt!
Rainbow Cray-Z The creator Ash Hardell makes some excellent educational videos on gender and sexuality but their videos are from a US perspective. Noah Finnce makes some more informal videos though they are still well explained and informative. His videos are also from an English perspective which could be of use to you. Ethan Wilson is a very small RU-vid creator that has made a fairly detailed set of videos on his experience with the gender identity clinic in Glasgow.
@@elijahkelly7309 From what I've watched, Ash Hardell spreads quite a bit of misinformation. The last thing I've seen of theirs though was like a year or two ago, so I don't know if they've corrected themself on it
Sadly the state I live in in the USA doesn't change sex/gender on any legal documents. And there is not a trans friendly doctor or therapist in my area so I'll have to move to start my medical transition.
I live in the usa as far as i know you're able to change your sex/gender on everything except your birth certificate sorry there isnt any trans friendly places around you tho i hope some open soon or your able to find some soon it took me a lot of time to find a voice therapist and a clinic near me but they were really close it just took a lot of looking to figure that out
Congratulations man! I haven't been watching from the beginning but i have watched long enough to be so happy for you. Here in Tennessee i can't change my birth certificate or any gender change isn't available so I'm living through you right now.You are such an inspiration to me and i hope you enjoy your final step to freedom
We have the same birthday! (February 19th) this makes me so happy. You're one of the first trans youtubers I started watching. You're one of my inspirations and have helped me process who I am. My T appointment is this friday. Happy early bday friend :)
I changed my legal sex too last year because otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to legally change my name to a male one! I had bureaucratic issues at first. My registrar's office has legal “advice” for trans people on their website that states any therapist, diagnostician or psychiatrist can write a form out for you but it turns out no, it has to be a therapist from a very specific list of specialist. (I was super lucky because one of those therapists was the one I just started going to so I didn’t have to wait forever.) Here in Austria, your paper just has to state your diagnosis (F64.0, it’s still called Transsexual instead of transgender here) and that you are most definitely not changing your mind and you are already living as your actual gender. But once I had that it was really easy and only took 3 days for them to change everything!! And it doesn’t cost a lot, I think it was like 25€? Don’t remember. My name change took a few months though :/ But hey! I’m now Jayson and I’m legally male!!!!!!! 💜💚🧡
Thank you for this, I've been worrying how to change my sex. I've recently came out and slowly taking my time going through it. So far I had a blood test and been referred to Wellbeing about my gender.
Congrats!!! I'm so happy for you, young trans man wishing you and Shava a lovely wedding :D Thank you for all the trans videos, it has really helped me
I had to back up the video, because I was laughing so hard at the joke, that I was missing everything you said afterwards. The joke was really funny 😂! Wow, what a Crazy process! You simplified it a lot, but I know it had to be difficult on so many levels. Now, the wedding, that’s going to make all the pain, humiliation, and hard work worthwhile👍👏!
Man this sounds just complicated to me at the moment... maybe its because im too tired but anyways I am so happy for you! And also I just wanna throw this out I also legally changed my sex from female to male and it was a pain! But I did it and i'm happy and thats whats counts!
Hooray congrats! I really want to get my certificates changed too as I've been out for over 7 years now, but I refuse to jump through the degrading hoops that are still in place here in Aus
I'm so glad that I now know more about the trans side of the LGBTQA+ community, I'm pan and my bsf is trans (ftm) but hasn't fully transitioned with the surgerys as he is not old enough to be given T without his parents permission and I want to help him as much as possible, in the future and now, to feel comfortable and I want to help him with the cost of surgery n stuff. Thank you for helping me be a better friend.
I have seen your videos since I started questioning my gender, and you have helped me so much with each video 💕 I'm legally changing my name and sex tomorrow, so this video is in perfect timing 🥳
yay that's excellent news! My girlfriend will be going through all this soonish, she has been "living in role" (ugh gross term) for just over 3 years now, so it'll just be a case of sorting out the medical professionals and solicitor when we have the spare money (at least she finally got a GIC appointment this past year, so she can get a gender specialist to do that bit)
okay, Jamie, we have the same birthday, it's a sign! what sign idk it's just one also fuck yeah! happy new gender certificate!! ps dont forget to take so much pictures of Shaaba over the wedding period, she's just gonna look so gorgeous 😭
Jamie: "Nobody needs to know." Also Jamie: proceeds to make a video about it for thousands of people tp watch. BTW congrats on both the officially legal change and the wedding ;)
Dude I love your videos I literally found you today and iv watched like 20 videos I couldn't even tell that you were trans untill like 5 videos in you look great. I'm happy for you and your fiance's up coming marriage and congratulations for being legally male! 💛
Congrats!! Ridiculous how convoluted it is, but I'm glad you got through it! :) It's similarly... involved here in Germany. In certain regards even more so, I think, because we don't really have solid laws to guide the process and we really love paperwork. It involves no less than three separate experts, one psychologist and two psychological examiners, and you have to go to court. Like. That's the standard procedure. Going to court. No deed poll, no gender recognition certificate. A courtroom.
