Excellent explanation. So many people trying the Keto way of eating are frustrated that they are not losing weight, but yet everyone is cramming copious amounts of BPC and extra fats into their diet - not giving themselves the option to burn the fat stores in their body first. I think BPC is great as a meal replacement, but wish people were not so obsessed with promoting it as something you NEED to have in order to be in ketosis and be a fat burner. Enjoying your vids. Lowered my fat to 50 grams a day and lost 7 lbs in a week after being on keto for 3 months. Wasn't as hungry as I thought I would be. I ate a lot of fish and pork chops because they are proteins that have little to no fat. Ate half my body weight in protein (grams NOT ounces) kept carbs to 20 total NOT net. Which is about 2 handfuls of spring mix salad or spinach and 2 servings of low carb vege like cauliflower or broccoli. Also IF 20/4. I will eat this way till my goal weight then up my fats to maintain

This video gave me such clarity...started keto 5 weeks ago, but was very overwhelmed by the FAT intake required...have not been eating the suggested 70%, but feel great, and eat only when hungry, 2 times per day. Started at 402 pounds, weighed in at 378.2 yesterday. Thanks again for the FAT clarity, looking forward to viewing your other videos.

I was eating way too much fat, and had stopped loosing weight. Now I will reduce the fat, and eat more protein as I wasn’t eating enough of it before. You explain it in our layman’s terms, easy and to the point. Thanks.

you are a life saver! Not one video on youtube tells you how much to eat, especially when you come from counting calories. I can never gauge how much to eat. I was following every one else's meal plans expecting to loose weight, and they were eating a lot. and i was over eating. forcing my self to complete their meal plans, and never loosing weight. just gaining. And I have what I call a skinny stomach. I cannot consume a lot of food. when I do, it becomes PAINFUL and I am UNCOMFORTABLE. the type of uncomfortable you get at thanksgiving. the type where you can't sleep cause your belly is about to explode. Today, I decided to eat keto but within the calorie levels I am use to eating, which is just enough food to keep me full from 9 am to 7 pm. And I thought maybe this would hurt me, but this video gave me much clarity, and I am on track! Thank You!

You make great and informative videos on Keto. The problem is, there's so much conflicting information out there about Keto, especially the amount of fat. This is so true within the FB Keto Groups, and some videos on RU-vid. Thank you for confirming what I suspected, some are suggesting too much fat.

I only get about 60% of my calories from fat and still losing weight. However, I am also in a caloric deficit and do cardio regularly.

SUBSCRIBED!!! Thank you, Angelo, for taking the time to share your knowledge with others : ) I'm just 1 week into keto and am eating a lot of extra fat, I think too much. But, am trying to get through the diet change easier and thinking the extra calories (fat) will help. It's mostly cheese. But, I'm only eating 2 meals a day and a snack once a day. The strange thing is I'm eating less than 1500 calories/day and the weight still is not dropping. I only eat when I'm hungry. Carbs are below 20 grams/day. So, I think I might be eating too much fat. But, it could be it's just been 1 week. I'll keep at it : )

@Bintang Surya Hi Bintang - I am doing well. It took about 4 weeks for me then the fat dropped considerably. I was only 1 week into Keto a year ago when I posted the above comment. It was still too early for me to show any weight loss. About 2 weeks into the Keto diet I started seeing the weight come off easily while still eating high fat. Eventually, my hunger subsided and I did not have to eat so much fat as when I first started the keto diet. For me, I notice I have to introduce carbs quite a bit if I exercise (lifting weights, or exerting my muscles heavily).

Thank you for addressing this issue. I was very overweight prior to having weight loss surgery. Unfortunately the surgery did not fix everything (It is not meant to be an easy or quick fix, just a tool). I got down to a certain weight and struggled for years until I found out I am still insulin resistant, estrogen dominant and suffer from adrenal fatigue. This is some of the side effects of being over weight for years and getting my hormones among other things out of sink. If a person is struggling to lose the weight and doing Keto correctly it may be time to look at other factors. Making sure your hormones are working properly is huge when it comes to getting healthy and losing weight.

Been on keto for just 2 days i literally just lost in inch around my belly. People need to try this it's unbelievable how easy it is! You can eat cheese, bacon, avocados, eggs.. it doesn't get any better than this!!

once i became fat adapted i havent lost any weight but i did a 48 hour fast and lost 8 lbs... then did another 48 hour fast and lost 7lbs.. and dropped my calories little by little... progress is coming

I'm fairly lean, but feel like I need to restrict calories somewhat in order to maintain my body fat level. Because of that, I want to increase my Leptin sensitivity as much as possible so my metabolism becomes more adaptable to a higher caloric intake. Beyond fasting, what else would you recommend in order to increase Leptin sensitivity? I'm a huge fan of your videos by the way, your channel will blow up in no time!

Angelo, you make some great videos! I'm a 70 yo male, in Ketosis for over 2 months. I wonder how long I should go with this, or switch to just a low carb diet, adding some fruit and grains.

Great video, I love your video's so informative. What do you think about fat fast and egg fast? I'm going to try that next the egg fast, I've done the fat fast. I've stopped eating process meat like salami, cabanossi etc because of dextrose what do you think about that?

Thank you! I have no experience with egg fasts, but if you really like eggs then sure, go for it and try it out for yourself! I do intermittently 'fat fast' (bulletproof coffee) 4 days/week, but only because I'm not aiming to lose any more fat. Otherwise I would just drink a black coffee until noon on those days as well. Keeping processed meat consumption to a minimum is certainly not a bad idea in my opinion, as it does often contain a lot of additives (like dextrose).

and what about the people who had eating desorder-struggling with extreme hunger. I did it as well.. Hard to not eat, cause If I limit my fat intake, Iam nervous, I want to eat until Iam satisfied but that meand sometimes for me so many calories, its not binging but regulary I am not satisfied at all(salad, tons of oil, fatty cheese...)have to still add up some more fats to finally be good with food...prob my leptin is still not good but thats why I started with Keto, because carbs make me even more nervous becaue I had big cravings....I am still scared to eat until I feel ok -gaining weight...

My husband and I have just started KETO, we are three weeks in and do not see any movement on the scale. It is overwhelming, all of the information out there. I am tracking our nutrients on the "lose it" app. What do you think is a reasonable percentage of fat, protein and Carbs? I keep hearing 70% fat, but would that we too much in the beginning stages to actually lose weight? We are both overweight and are wanting to shed some of the extra pounds and change our eating habits as well. Appreciate any advice and suggestions. Thank you,

I think we need to be really really careful about which fats to include and how much...there's very strong correlation between amount of saturated fat consumed and dementia/ alzheimers in old age!!

it's important to stick to high quality fats, including saturated fats and to keep carbs low when doing so. The correlation you see is likely because those 'saturated fats' came in a burger (bread) with fries. Alzheimers is a result of insulin resistance in the brain (from too much sugar/carbs over an extended amount of time).

Hello Angelo, You have no idea what this video did for me, I was looking for an answers and why did I hit a plateau after 4 months of Keto. I have lost 40 pounds already, but for the past month I was stuck. I was consuming a lot of fats and was following my macros very strictly. But all the fat that I was burning, was the one I was consuming. Now, I have a questions for you, so my macros per day are 19g Carbs, 125g Fat and 75g Protein, this means I can stop eating fat once I get to my 75g or so? the rest my body will use my storage fat? is this how it works? Thank you so much in advance for all your support and what you do for the Keto community.

I, among with many people, have been told never to fast. This only prolongs the storage of fat. Is it healthy to fast and what is a safe fast? Only respond if your someone who is serious please.

What if I eat 2000calories .. I'm overweight 80kgs n height 5'9" n I'm 18yrs ... Ik I have a slow metabolism ! Because I was highly obese ...( My Max. Was 103kgs) .. n I came down to this .. (not through keto, but a normal diet) ...I really want to lose 10kg more and would love it if someone could help ! N tell me if my calories are excess or low for keto .. Thank you 😄

you don't have to hit an exact amount of fat, by consuming less fat/calories you're giving your body the chance to burn off more calories from its own fat stores. No worries, enjoy yourself on your week off! Just drink lots of water, rather over-eat on protein instead of carbs and don't be surprised if you gain a small amount of weight, it's mostly water stored in your muscles - you'll lose it again after a few days of Keto. This is a mental issue for me....because I think, if 75-80% of your calories are not coming from fat, then it isn't a ketogenic diet any longer...

thank you! Not really, it all depends on what you're aiming for (eg. maintain or lose weight). I just eat when I'm hungry until I'm full, I think last time I checked it was like 170g of fat/day.

Hey Angelo! I also live in Vienna, I wanted to ask you what are the best places in Vienna to find ketogenic food? For example I can't find almond flour or natural peanut butter anywhere. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks! (I don't want to order from Amazon btw)

I'm always happy to hear when more Viennese people find my videos! :-) I buy my food in many different stores (Lidl, Penny, Hofer, Spar, Merkur, Freilaender), depending on what I need. You should be able to find natural nut butters in DM & Merkur. I usually buy my almond flour in Lidl or Hofer, but there seems to be a shortage right now - Spar could have some though.

Too much bulletproof coffee (I drink 2 cups in the morning as my breakfast and don't normally eat lunch until 12:00-1:30) is that too much? Ive been keto a month now just wanting to make sure my proteins are low enough and don't want to over eat.....I stopped eating when I'm not hungry after watching several saying that's ok my body will not go into 'fat storage mode' there are days I have 2 Keto coffees then don't eat till dinner and feel good

+Fit Mom Life it all depends on how much fat you're adding to your coffee/s, if you're still full when lunchtime comes around it's probably too much, if not then you're probably fine :-) Track your progress (eg measure your waistline) to see if you're going in the right direction or if you need to make any changes.

I wanted to fast but i wake up with tingling fingers and numbness so i load with avocado and chicken spinach soup and it goes away. I also am eating very minimal fat, I used to be paleo and still convincing myself that fat is good.. I eat more low carb veges than fats, I like cheese,yogurt, sometimes butter. Is that still keto?

Keep a food journal for a while and make sure you stay under 20-25g net carbs/day. Don't be afraid of adding high quality fats to your meals until you're full and make sure you're getting enough electrolytes (magnesium, potassium, sodium), as that might be the reason for the tingling/numbness

+Renee LovesGod yes, you can calculate it based on your personal daily caloric intake. You can then divide the calories from fat by 9 to get to the fat in grams

If that's the way you enjoy your fast the most then sure, add the smallest amount of heavy cream (eg. 1-2 tsp) you need to keep you going until 10 AM!

why do my anxiety and depression levels increase greatly when I am in ketosis? Also too, why do my ears ring when I am in ketosis?

many people report the opposite happening, I don't think I can help much with that. Maybe you're drinking too much coffee? You do get more sensitive to stimulants on Keto in my experience. Check with your doctor to make sure.

You might need to up your electrolytes. My heartbeat will ramp up in the 1st couple weeks if I don't take them daily. When I notice my anxiety and tense nervousness comes around I know i'm low. Take 300-400mgs of magnesium at night and try the Vega Electrolytes powder, lime or berry. High in potassium. I also add a bit of pink salt to my water. Works for me! Good luck

Right? Me too! Wasn't loosing any wait on strict Keto for the first month, tracking EVERYTHING and keeping under 20g total carb with 1200 to 1400 cals, making sure I was in ketosis. Was doing 5 total carbs, 70% fat, 25% protein. It was too much protein for me. My body was resisting weighloss and prob kept converting the protein into glucose because I trained it to do so for so long. Was getting fed up. Did a 5 day fat fast (eggs, bacon, bullet proof coffee, peanut butter etc.), just aiming for 1200cals, 5g total carbs, 80-90% fat and 15% protein. Seems like alot of fat but I needed to force my body To burn fat and let it pick up its own momentum after that. I Lost 5 lbs in 5 days. Anyone struggling with weight loss when you're doing everything right, look up egg fast or fat fasts videos and try it for 3-5 days. Keto on!
