Also it's been stated in the lore that the Doomslayer has "Speed and strength that will match his will" and "Infinite strength granted to those worthy of it"

This man went from an normal marine dude who owned a rabbit, to an immortal rage fueled demigod feared by all of the demons of hell, what's left of mankind and even higher dimensional beings. Respect.

It's not just the Doom slayer got buried in rubble, he also was sealed as were essentially in a state of magic coma during his time inside the sarcophagus. The keep that holds that sarcophagus was so closely guarded that the demons guarding it fought like their life depended on it, because they literally are.

Doomguy is the strongest in my head because whenever I'm scared of some fictional entity, halo Flood, SCP, backroom, stuff like that, I always imagine the doom slayer standing behind them. Just as the music begins to swell and I feel all the better. Hard to be scared when the slayer is around and honestly, that's a powerful feeling to evoke. Hence why I will always feel the slayer as the strongest.

As a child I looked up to Master Chief, then I grew up and look up to Doomslayer

I once read that the reason the Slayer uses guns instead of his fists, is to make the demons suffer more. Which, I got to agree with. simply one punching demons would probably get boring, or not fuel his rage as much. So using conventional/unconventional weaponry, actually makes sense. Look at our soldiers, when they get shot it is agony. The Slayer WANTS the demons to be in agony. Hell, more than agony. He wants them tortured, ripped to shreds, burned alive. He wants them to make death seem like a blessing. My own head canon is that, the demons are scared shitless of the Slayer, and the only reason they can't run, is because they were never programmed to. All they know is to throw themselves at anything that is an obstacle to them and kill the rest. But the Slayer? All they can do is do what they were programmed to do. Throw themselves at the obstacle. But this 'obstacle' is unbeatable. And they know this.

I mean… if you’re fast enough to dodge attacks by the Dark Lord, who created an infinite multiverse in a finite amount of time, then technically the Doom Slayer has infinite speed

I'd like to point out that the Praetor suit in Eternal leaves the skin on his arms exposed. Considering demonic attacks at least appear to be able to hurt him even inside the suit as evidenced by the fact he can, y'know, die; this implies his skin is just naturally as strong as the suit he wears since at no point do his upper arms get absolutely ravaged in about a thousand different ways.

The reason why he was sent to Mars specifically was because his CO ordered him to open fire on unarmed civilians which he refused, went up to his CO and pummeled the absolute daylights out of him. He also didn’t like how toxic waste was being dumped into the environment, he clearly states that in the comics lol

We should also consider another possibility that Doomguy only fights with a small fraction of his full strength, he deliberately toys with his enemies. In the novel Starship Troopers, there’s a quotation with the meaning roughly as “War is a form of limited violence, we don’t need to wipe them out with nukes, but to teach them a lesson that we can storm their territories and make them suffer like raiding our own candy store, that will be enough to persuade them to behave”. So Doomguy is clearly broadcasting a message to everyone in multiverse: “I can rip and tear you by the most gruesome ways whenever I feel like to, so live in fear for eternity.”

In every game the antagonist has boss music, In doom The player has boss music. Roses are red, Demons are nocturnal, Halo is infinite, Doom is eternal.

For those wondering, all of the Slayer’s weapons are made viable against his foes by the Slayer’s energy, or his life force. They may use regular bullets, but his energy makes them able to damage GOD

I like to imagine that the Doom Slayer's armor is just there to stop him from accidentally imploding the universe, like a power suppressor.

He wasn't just trapped under rubble, he was lured into the halls of a massive temple which a Hell Titan then proceeded to collapse down upon him, allowing them only to stun him long enough to take away his suit and seal him within the coffin rather than actually cause him any damage.

10:16 The Icon of Sin is stronger than the Titan Champion who had Immeasurable Power in the Slayer's Testament. But is definitely the most powerful. The Icon of Sin is a Universal Level Titan who's presence literally warps reality and caused singularities that eventually suck in a entire universe to Hell itself. He is basically a Titan that was used by Hell as a Universal Hax.

It was also stated that the divinity machine usually cursed or punished it’s subject, and that DS was unique in the way that it purely enhanced his abilities to a god-like level

Love the Doomslayer he is OP and cool. One of the few game characters that got cooler the more games came out instead of being ruined by terrible writing.

so i have a theory. DS himself isn't the one who's "stronger than universes" or whatever, nor is he capable of outright destroying universes he's just capable of killing gods. so even though he can't just gun the universe out of existence, he can target the maker and kill that instead. hence why he's a "slayer" rather than a "destroyer"

Doomslayer, Asura, and Kratos are quite literally the “too angry to die” characters just on steroids

I mean... the Slayer got trapped underneath a Blood Temple so it's not like it was just a random building. The place was probably filled with dark magic and they dropped all of that onto the Slayer and immediatly put him in the sarcophagus. Slayer's Testament VII: "Yet as the mighty Titan fell and dread engulfed the armies of Doom, the demon priests of the Blood Temples laid a trap to capture this scourge of Hell. Insatiable, even by the vanquishing of the Great One, the Hell Walker sought prey in the tombs of the Blood Keep. And blinded by his fervor, the lure drew him in. The priests brought down the temple upon the Doom Slayer, and in his defeat entombed him in the cursed sarcophagus. The mark of the Doom Slayer was burned upon his crypt, a warning to all of Hell that the terror within must never be freed. There he lies still, and ever more, in silent suffering."

Another thing to note. Doom slayer technically can’t die. Even if you somehow do manage to pierce his skin which btw is said to be even stronger than his armor, he would get ressurected. You can kill him, but you can’t keep him there

I like to think that the whole "being buried in rubble" is actually made out to be way smaller than it ACTUALLY is. Like, a systematic destruction of an incredibly large structure and even of the surrounding area to come cascading down specifically on top of DS. It takes THAT MUCH to trap him in the same way a normal human would be trapped under a bit of collapsing debris.

I saw somewhere that the Praetor suit wasn't worn for protection against damage, but mainly to just soak up more argent energy, which the Slayer uses as fuel essentially after he was put through the divinity machine.

I believe Hugo stated that DoomSlayer possibly empowers his weapons in a Doom Livestream, he said he doesn't think much about that stuff I think. Plus the fact that davoth is stated to be stronger than EVERY demon we have faced before hand, and that includes the icon of sin and his feat. To add ln, great video.

Based on the lore, we can fairly easily explain Doom Slayer's ability to damage universal beings with utterly mundane weaponry. Doom slayer has Weapon Refinement or something similar to how Ki works in DBZ in that Trunks literally used a normal sword to turn Freiza into hamburger. In that case it's Ki, I'm going to assume that in DS's case, it's the Praetor Suit as it'll tell him straight-up what he needs to Do to have the weapons straight-up upgrade by themselves. Not only does he get sustained by killing Demons, but he also uses them to gain more power in more ways than one.

Doomslayer managed to defeat the Titan, which was the size of Hellbarge, *before* acquiring Preator Suit.

The DOOM slayer was captured because the demons bated him with something he couldn't resist. It is never stated EXACTLY what it was but it was something he couldn't let go even knowing it was a trap. The demons collapsed their most sacred temple on top of him to STUNN him for a few seconds. Then they cast a quick spell to separate him from his armor and lock them both away. The demons had no idea of his relationship with his armor so they never even dreamed to taking it out to study how to damage it. Also the temple was like the size of a city. That is what it took to stun him a bit. Had they tried to cast that spell when he was fine, he would have shrugged it off. Also it is said that the fight between the Slayer and the Titan lasted for a decade. Non stop.

Actually Hugo Martin confirmed that actually the Slayer amplifies the weapons he uses (most likely with his argent energy magic) meaning they pack way more firepower which is how he was able to gun down the Icon or stab Davoth.

The fact that people underestimate doom slayer is just crazy. Doom slayer can rival characters like kratos.

One small note here - guns are empovered as was stated during streams of Hugo, so they're actually as powerful as he is, that's why they were able to damage the Icon. And actually if you think about it - it's way more comfortable to have demons stuck in place with microbeam or to take out caco from a distance than letting them escape/being far away to reach than actually run at them each time.

How is the Doom Slayer NOT an SCP at this point?

a point to mention is that doom guy is also known as the time walker wich is a testament to how fast he actually is. On top of that he not only survived but didnt even get a scratch from the vega core exploding wich ripped a hole into the fabric of reality and space from point blank range.

How could you forget to mention Daisy? Idk if I'm right or wrong on this, but I'm pretty sure the demons killing Daisy was the main reason (along with vengeance and revenge) that he stayed in hell, he never wanted to return, he wanted the demons to suffer And the demons should remember, the longer the doom slayer stays in hell, the stronger he becomes.

Got summin to do with the Divinity machine was powered by a piece of the dark lord, and doomguy received that power. Vega literally said that the slayer is the darklord, polar opposite in the Earth dimension. Maybe given a few millennia the slayer could harness the magic side of things, but physically he has the same power as the dark lord and it is said only he could dominate hell. That is why hell is so afraid of him.

And just remember there's people out there who really think Master Chief can beat him

In the art book of doom eternal Vega states that Slayer fighting against the demons of hell is causing multiple universes to implode.That statment alone makes him uni+.Safe to say Slayer is broken lol

At first, I thought the Doomslayer would've been around large star lvl at best, but DAMN, I never thought he'd be _that_ OP! This made me think that he stands a fair chance against other OP characters, like Gilgamesh (or anyone in Fateverse), Kratos, Sephiroth, Asura, Darkseid, Goku, the Avengers, some pretty OP SCPs, some very-powerful Isekai characters (ones with ass-pulls and have their themes be playing in the background while they do their attacks lol), and more! Imagine making the original, not knowing how fucking busted the protagonist would become almost 3 decades later.

Hugo Martin confirmed that DOOM is actually a metaverse which is multiple multiverses & dimensions, so both Doomguy/Doom Marine/Doom Slayer and Davoth are even more overpowered then anyone thought. P.S Davoth aka The Dark Lord created the metaverse of DOOM.

Personally I like to think he's as strong as he needs to be to win the fight. If he's just fighting imps and hell knights in the beginning, he'll be relatively weak, above average human levels of strength yes but weaker than something akin to the bialzabub or whatever, but when he's fighting some inter dimensional eldritch abomination that consumes gods like snacks. He'll be as strong as he needs to be to defeat such a being.

Doom guy started out just being the apex of humanity,really strong and combat gifted but still very much mortal with the limitations of humanity But after he got that regenerating armor and became the super powered up champion of the gods hes basically become a immortal force of nature

The whole temple thing wasn't just about the weight, hell basically used all of it's magic at once and was only able to put the Slayer to sleep,the temple was just a distraction.

I'd actually take gameplay, because that implies that he CAN die, but he's too angry to do so. Memes aside, it implies that he's such a skilled and determined beast, so focused on his task that will not stop. He was almost brought down, when the sentinels found him doomguy was almost dead as told by the captors, but when he was blessed with the divine machine , it was game over for the demons, he can still die, but he's at his peak and maximun level all the time

Well, they dropped one of the hellscape mountains on him, which I imagine is bigger than our regular ones? Also the spells and seals they put in place when it collapsed on him. Kind of a one off all their power to keep him in place for a little while.

Doomguy was born as a god always, according to the story from 2016 and Eternal. And it makes sense because he was insanely strong in the original games as well, beyond superhuman levels of strength. He just had to earn his power, unlike Davoth, who is said to have been consumed by the need to grant immortality to his people and turned more evil in the search of more power.

This an amazing song, that being said I do actually need medication and constantly try to do new things but am literally held back by a tightening in my chest, shortness in my breath, my sight malfunctioning and auditory hallucinations due to extreme anxiety…I keep trying but how much of this do I need to suffer until “it works” seriously I’m happy for you if you got over something but I don’t know how many more times I can keep having my heart beat thru my chest and eyes feel like they’ll bulge until they pop to “just get over it”

I’m glad you did Doomslayer cause I hear and see people tell me to play eternal cause he’s OP. Tik Tok is crazy high on this guy. I’m also glad you included the lore because people don’t understand how the gaming verses operates. That’s why it’s always good when the staff straight up tells you the purpose of descriptions, extra source of media and material, interviews etc that the lore is the actual primary source. Gameplay is basically the restricted hint of what the characters can actually do. Good video Chuck.

my favorite part about the doom slayer is that, despite being a being that is seemingly above every other being that exists, even the one who created everything, he doesn't really care about that. he still acts like he's "*just some guy*" despite the astronomically impossible feats he achieves.

As a fellow DOOM fan (I'm an active powerscaler of the verse. I have my own videos on it and at times I work on it on Vs Battles Wiki. Hell I'm actually one of the two guys who spearheaded the CRT that got DOOM to 2-A) I have to say, you put out a fine video. You among other things, gave an alright summary of the Slayer's story and rightfully said that the stupid temple feat was a low-end outlier. My only big complaint is that you should have put more sources in the video. Granted, you got the big stuff (I.e. The blatant higher-dimensional statement for Urdak and Hell transcending time and space) but things like individual Argent caches having more power than that of a nuclear reactor, or the Icon of Sin smashing up Hell need sources. Also how dare you not mention the John Romero easter egg in DOOM II you son of a bitch.

Reminder that Berserk powerups used to last forever within a level, the devs didn't have to do that, but they did. I like to think the old berserk powerups made with medicine were way stronger than those made of energy. Though berserk also only basically quintupled his strength, instead of effectively making it exponentially higher more or less.

I think its worth mentioning that, according to the lore, davoth actually spoke, from within his life sphere, to the seraphim persuading him to reverse the polarity of the divinity mwchine and stick the doom guy into it. Maykr actually built the divinity machine under davoth's influence, using some shard that had some of Davoth's properties in it, that's how Doom guy became who he is. He was literally infused with the power of the dude that created planes of existence just by being.

Sure, the Doomslayer is a multiversal level threat, but could he beat Kirby: eater of worlds, destroyer of cosmic entities, reincarnated god of insatiable hunger and unyealding violence? Kirby is beyond multiversal level threat, he is an existential level threat. Kirby's power level has surpassed 9000 by an infinite amount. All hail our new lord Kirbo, consumer of existence!

I think it's literally the fact that you're experiencing the game through his perspective.. so when enemies move at 200x the speed of sound through the gameplay he sees it as basic sp3ed since his reaction time would be at that level too. If that makes sense

I really can't say this enough. The fact that they somewhat "nerfed" the Doomslayer by GIVING him weapons will never not be metal AF

Some things to note , and I'm not sure why nobody talks about them: 1 , it is said in the codex that Urdak exists outside the dimensional boundaries such as time and space , however later on , Hell is depicted as a living entity that exists beyond even that , which could go anywhere from massively beyond dimensions , or even outright beyond reality. I mean , it's called a realm and a living entity more then it is called a dimension , so you'd think it actually does exist outside laws of reality , as dimensions do have time , space , gravity and other laws of reality. If that is the case , then Hell is outerversal in nature. 2 , Hugo Martin says that the world in DOOM is a multiverse , and there are multiple mentions of it being a multiverse , in the lorebook that comes with the deluxe package (the one with the helmet) , in one of the chapters it says his battle against Hell would become a multiversal level threat. However , there are codex entries that state that there are infinite timelines and dimensions. That is more akin to a hyperverse rather then a multiverse , and if it is the case that it's a hyperverse , then we'd be entering levels of power that... are just beyond fucked up to say the least. 3 , the reason why the Slayer fell at the end of TAG P2 wasn't because of the Dark Lord's death... I mean , it technically was , but not because of the things established in the story. There were many theories before Midnight interviewed Hugo Martin , one of the theories being that because the Slayer was born human and became a God that he wasn't able to absorb the Dark Lord's power without pain , the Slayer does grow more powerful for everything he kills after all. But no , the actual reason is because he has no purpose , he stopped the demonic invasions , and the Maykrs sure as fuck aren't gonna be operating , so nothing is threatening humanity on a level that it can't protect itself... but then the next game will come out and gives us some bullshit reason as to how the demons escaped Hell. I know this last one isn't really helpful for the power scaling part , but I still wanted to mention it regardless. And lastly , 4 , the Slayer was lured into a temple that was brought down onto him. The size is unknown , but there are Titans the size of skyscrapers that are depicted struggling to move with temples on their backs , so it's most likely nothing to laugh at. As for how they even trapped him into the sarcophagus , we can only theorize this. The best theory I can come up with is that the Hell Priests used the demonic Crucible. It is the most powerful artifact of Hell , and a tree in DOOM 2016 does speak of it being the weapon that , according to it's prophecy , a dark priest will use to annihilate the Slayer. I mean , the Slayer has a red flashback of it , even though he only learns of the demonic Crucible later on in the story.

Lore wise the Doom Slayer can easily kill Khorne and the rest of the Chao gods. Video game wise the Doom Slayer can still kill Khorne but it would take a lot more time and levels. If there was a Doom/ Warhammer 40K combination game, it would take the player on “Please Don’t hurt me” difficulty a thousand hours just to get the boss battle against Khorne. It would probably take 6 months in total to be the game.

To note doom could have just walked up to the icon of sin and tickled it and it would have gone down faster than using his guns which are already powerful as heck

RIP my poor, physics following heart. As someone who always tries to fit fiction into real world physics and biology, Doom Guy’s abilitys hurt me on all possible levels.

If you’d like a little context, the reason he was trapped before 2016 is because of a demonic curse, one that very similarly trapped the dark lord and the father. So he was basically put to sleep and sealed away because nobody wanted to mess with him, or break the curse by hitting him.
