Due to popular demand from my @sharkhives instagram. Here is my tutorial on how to bleach and dye the Stussy x Nike Air Force Ones.

Your tutorial can actually kill someone or seriously harm someone you do know that mixing bleach with hydrogen peroxide makes mustard gas right?

The mixture of hydrogen peroxide and bleach creates oxygen gas, salt (sodium chloride) and water. The oxygen is what's dangerous, as it can explode. No mustard gas is produced.

No it doesn't. Don't spread false information. This mixture produces OXYGEN Gas. You still shouldn't mix the two. And in the video he doesn't mix the two. He mixes bleach and water, and then he shows himself pouring hydrogen peroxide in its own container.

At 1st I was like why not just get the other colorway but I see now with those black soles that purple pops. But it does give me a nother idea that will take more work the tan to purple and color change the soles to a crazy contrast color

That was a trial and error pair. I left it in bleach for 2 -3 hours it didn’t get light enough in my opinion, dyed it too dark of a brown left it in there for like 2 hours looked too dark of a brown almost black so i took the dye out with rit dye remover and dyed it again in brown for 45 mins. I would recommend doing this same process for the brown!

Yo bro really good work on these. I just did this myself yesterday, and the shoes ended up pretty wet afterwards. Do you know of any way I can dry them off faster? Also there were a couple spots on one of the shoes that ended up lighter, you think I can put them in dye again without messing up the whole shoe? I appreciate what u did tho here man, definitely keep the content going!

I let them hang dry in front of a fan/heater like 4- 6 feet away from it. U can def dye them again. Make sure to rub the dye throughly on the shoe throughout the dyeing process to ensure the dye touches and soaks all of the shoe to avoid those light spots

@@kahlevmusic lmao did you soak them in hydrogen peroxide to eliminate the bleach smell? It should smell after that. If it still stinks I would try hand washing the shoes with liquid detergent

Different material, unfortunately they won’t bleach and if you were to attempt to try it may ruin the materials nearby

Washed by hand and lil bit of dish soap. no brush. Keep rinsing til the water runs clear

Longer you keep the shoe soaking in the dye. The deeper the color!

What exactly is 1/5 water, 4/5 bleach? Like how much of each did u use

It’s the ratio, so if u use 5 cups 4 cups will be bleach and 1 cup will be water

A “part” pertains to whatever measurement u used. So if you did 1 part water/ 1 part bleach it means 50% water 50% bleach. If you did 3 parts bleach/ 1 part water that means 75% bleach 25% water. Hope that helps !

Bleach does ruin the shoe. It will dry the fabric out and if the shoes are made of hemp it will dry them out drastically if you leave them in the bleach for too long. That’s why you see some pairs on IG that are super bright, but the shoes are ripping. I recently been using Rit Dye Remover for some of my latest projects. Not sure if that works on this particular shoe yet. But give that a try if u can. It’s not that expensive !

@@jimmyjones4149 less water more bleach and in direct sunlight would be my suggestion to get it the brightest and fastest but watch the shoes and see if the materials start to thin. if so just be careful after wash, the fabric will be fragile. or try googling another way to bleach a shoe without bleach! i know Rit Dye Remover has been a good option and is better on the fabric but i dont know how much lighter it gets.

Important Make sure you rinse those shoes VERY THOUROUGHLY with water before you put them shits in hydrogen peroxide Bleach and hydrogen peroxide can react explosively
