Citroen Saxo or Peugeot 106... Fuel pump change!
Hammer, lever bar, screwdriver... is all you will need! Oh and a fuel pump!

Good job! Be careful with submerging fuel hose in a tank. Not all are suitable for that, meaning you run the risk of getting contamination in your fuel system, and in time you'll have to do the job again.

Bonjour, pourquoi avais vous changer la pompe? Je possède une saxo de 97 un soir en voulant partir du travail la voiture ne voulais pas démarré le démarreur fonctionne mais le moteurs ne tourne pas comme si y avais plus d'essence alors que j'ai le plein est la pompe ne fait pas de bruit comme la votre vous pensé quelle est hors service ?? Merci d'avance pour votre réponse

If the pump isn't pumping fuel.... Check power to the pump. If it has power/electric then yes pump has failed.

Thanks for the video. I have a VTS 1.4cc, is always a pain that job! The hole is so narrow (f**ken)! (I have replace the pump 3 times! Mod 2001, with only 80.000 Km) First I always disconnect the battery. A bucket beside is helpful when I remove the body from the tank. Is there any o-ring under the Nut-Ring? (except the thick conical seal/gasket)

Just one seal/ring to seal it in. The VTS was a 1.6 16v?! 🤔 Why have you had to replace it three times?? Something odd there .. do you run fuel low a lot? Or replacing with bad product?

@@PiggyPower Hi, mine (my wife's) is 1.4cc VTS (not VTR), probably for the Greek market. I had to replace them, due blown motors. The last 2 was the "expensive" VDOs (with the grey stamp/label, like yours as I saw on the video). 😁

hi mate. i ordered a pump but it came without the seal/gasket to fix it to the tank. do you think it would be possible to remove the seal from the old pump and reuse it. I cant seem to find the seal for sale anywhere without buying another spares pump. just wondering if you have any suggestions. cheers!

i have a problem. my peugeot 106 1,4xs from 1995 has to under the back seat. the on the left, is the fuel pump, the other is just a look alike but with a 3-legged plug. i would asume that it is the fuel tank reader. and it dosent work. the neadle is stuck at quater tank.

@PiggyPower start over & over fine runs drives, leave the car 10 minutes & won't re start, just cranks over... then will start back up fine hours later... changed the crank sensor check fuel spark good so it's a mystery even changed Master fuel relay...

@PiggyPower start fine cold in the morning have spark fuel, left ten mins won't re start for hours & there still fuel & spark its Herbie

Hi nice video. I have peugeot 106 1.1 fuel injection year 2001 and at a sudden it is not starting. I checked the wiring plug connector the fat wires, and when i turn the key it is reading around 2.7v but when i crank it up it reads around 11v. Do you think there is enough supply to the pump it is normal like that? I dont hear the pump starting and i hit it like you said. Thanks really need to know whats happening. I changed the fuel filter aswell to be sure as it was a little bit clocked, also it blew the pump fuse 10anps 2 times but now i changed it and didn't blow. Thats why i thought there is a problem with fuel pump at first place.

Sounds like fuel pump is at issue. Try the same test of voltage with the plug UNPLUGGED. If it's the same, then the supply voltage is at fault. If it's 12v+ when you turn ignition on and then crank... Then the pump is at fault likely. Check earth too

@@PiggyPower i already checked the plug when it was unplugged and when i turn Ignition with the multimeter i check the fat wires ax its reading 2.7v but when i try to start it it reads 11v. It is good or bad? When i only turn ignition on its reads 2.7v but if i try to start it reads about 11volts.

@@renecalleja6754 something a miss, when you flick the ignition on, it should prime the pump with 12v. I think there's a relay or wiring issue

@@PiggyPower only the wires for the gauge the thin ones have 12v the fat ones only have 2.7v when ignition on. Which relay should i check for the fuel pump? Many thanks :)

Petrol. The diesel 106/saxo doesn't have a pump in the tank.
