There are basically 4 types of regret: 1.Foundation Regret: Related to hard work 2.Boldness Regret: Related to some risk that we did not take 3.Moral Regret: If only I was a better person. Whenever there is regret we feel less rewarded and more threatened. Our pre frontal cortex analyzes what could have been done and what needs to be changed. Regret is a marker for growth . Regret is the starting point of a redemption story. The better you can imagine an alternative plan of action the better you can plan your steps and this leads to better steps being further taken. Specific regrets lead to more change than vague regrets. All emotions have an inherent survival value. Stoicism: Do not take regret as a blame instead learn from it. Your regret can be the starting point of your redemption story,

one off-topic question: sir I am an MBBS graduate, Just got a rank in neet pg. Now my dilemma is that I am fascinated about brain - both physical and non physical aspects of it. So naturally I am confused between Neurology and psychiatry. I love both and confused on what to choose. Can you guide me sir?

Congratulations on your rank! Both are great choices. If you’re interested in learning about the body as a whole, go for MD medicine. In the future, psychiatry and neuroscience will merge anyway.

I'm a BDS graduate(GDC MUMBAI), had appeared for NEET MDS, with all in efforts but the rank isn't giving me a govt seat of my choice, I'll have to opt for private, I'm confused if I should give it more attempt or just go for the private seat. Actually I'm trying to reach out to you on mail, insta, YT May be you did not notice I really need a talk.

Hi Diksha, having to repeat is a tough choice, one that many medical students need to make. I spoke about this in my livestream about NEET preparation, so do check it out. I’ll make a video on this soon.

Does PFC creates all the stories in our brain. Does animal brain create stories ?
@Sidwarrier
@Sidwarrier 2 года назад
There is no way to know for sure (yet), but we can assume that any animal with a prefrontal cortex will have some level of story telling, though the complexity would not be as much as in humans
