Every time I wore a dress or a skirt my family would say "Where are you going?" It made me feel really self conscious but I just kept doing it until they stopped lol they still do it sometimes but you just got to keep pushing through!

Lady Lazarus mine say the same exact thing! Every time I put in effort they would assume I’m going somewhere specific. After I started doing it everyday I think they realized it was the new “normal”

@@rosewalker1115 1. Wearing a dress doesn't make you look more or less like a woman. It's a piece of fabric. 2. No, other women are not 'jealous' of you. At most they might make a comment or two, but soon they will accept it as your style. I've never seen people who are actually alternative in their style complain like this. As a teenager we tend to feel self conscious about everything, I get it. Embrace your style, don't worry about a little extra attention and you'll be fine, I promise. @@mari-h7q I personally like shopping on YesStyle! They don't have a generic size chart, but rather provide the measurements for each size of each item, including the length of the item. I find it very helpful as generic size charts seem to be inaccurate more often than not. As for finding items that suit your body, I would recommend going to a store and trying on clothing with a variety of silhouettes to find those that suit you best. You could also determine your body type (pear, hourglass, apple, etc.) and research how to best dress for that body type, there are many resources for this online. I hope this was helpful!

Basket of Dependables i think mrs Midwest isn’t in the wrong showing diversity because femininity isn’t inherent in only European culture, and her channel is about embracing femininity, not just European feminine lifestyles. Though I am very pro European culture and embrace my European cultural standards and styles, embracing femininity in all cultures is an overall gain for society, as applying true femininity to your culture tends to push women into embracing racial homogeneity.

Sylvie Kb why does someone always have to take a nice comment and turn it into something else? The world is set up for white people. Always has been. I don't get it. I don't really care an ounce if other people look nice -- I may find that inspiring. But as soon as they open their mouth and what I hear coming out of is pride in their appearance and derision toward others for not looking the same, I'm done. I'd rather look ugly. Do "pretty" people not get that? Everything has to be that other people are just jealous of all your amazing success?

In college, male friends often commented that I always "look nice" or "put together". I wore almost exclusively sundresses and skater skirts. Even in the winter I often wore skirts with sweaters and black tights. To me, my outfits were so easy because dresses are just one piece and I didn't have to think about it. I just feel better and more put together when wearing what a previous job I had called "snappy casual" 😊

I started wearing dresses and skirts six months ago and boy did I get noticed and questioned why I was doing this and where was I going that day that was so special. I did not let it tampered with my new goal which would be continual feminine wardrobe. Now it is six months later and I still feel really good when I go to pick up my clothes at night and go to wear them in the morning. As far as jeans and skirts I’ve never looked back. Dresses and skirts are something I’ve always enjoyed and my husband really enjoys to see me in as well. There is nothing more attractive to a man then a feminine woman. Just watch the show Calamity Jane. When you look different from this larger modern crowd beware of a lot more attention from classier men and stares from modern society. They will look at you because you look different Let’s face it it’s not common to see a woman in a dress but it will always will be in a good way. And who knows maybe you’ve influenced them to look a little more feminine in their every day life. It’s hard to walk away from the larger crowd and start doing things that are different. I stopped following them and now I look different because have embraced my femininely. If you look good you will feel good. For these people that want to wear yoga pants I agree it is a totally comfy feel but it is not feminine. It’s easier to feel comfy. And that makes it easier for them make money off of you. Thank you for making this video. A lot of women need to hear it so they can make the first step.

I hate how wearing a dress equates to overdressing, that you must spend tons on clothes, must be trying to be sexy, that you don't care about comfort, or you spend a lot of time getting ready. Um no, at least not necessarily. The vast majority of dresses are not ball gowns! Many dresses cost much less than jeans/pants, and then there's having to get a top to go with them. You also don't need to be in perfect shape to wear a dress. In fact, they are much more flattering on many bodies. I like jeans and they can look stylish too, but I find dresses more comfortable, affordable, flattering, and easy. I wish the dress shaming would stop! To me, saying "where you are going?" to someone in a dress is rude. I wouldn't ask someone why they spent a hundred bucks on skinny jeans they can hardly breathe in and highlight every flaw.

Something that I put a ton of effort into this summer was looking for feminine styles, colors, and silhouettes in T-shirts. Though it was actually a lot of work (probably because I was combing the t-shirt section of a thrift store!), the result was awesome! I always had super comfy go-to shirts, but they looked really feminine when I put them on. I think that a key here is to do the hard work on the front end (i.e. shopping for however long it takes, to bring the items into your wardrobe), so that in the moment of truth (when you're getting dressed and don't feel like putting a ton of energy into your outfit), the pieces comes together effortlessly and femininely!

And, while I would say that adding nice, feminine t-shirts is half that battle, getting rid of t-shirts or other casual wear that aren't doing you any favors is the other half of the battle! You are beautiful Isabella! Beauty standards come and go, but femininity is timeless! There has been many times throughout history when a slender, sleek figure would have been the ideal, and it still is for so many people. Right now exaggerated curves are kind of everywhere in our faces, but they’re NOT inherently more feminine than your figure, it’s just another trend that will come and go. Find cuts, fabrics, colors, and accessories that play up your favorite features and you’ll feel instantly more confident. The more you start feeling comfortable and confident, the more your natural femininity will begin to pour out ❤️

When I dress up someone will say "Wow, are you going to a party?" - What I feel I want to reply to this is "I'm a woman!" or tell them it feels wonderful to dress feminine because I am a woman. I like to wear a pretty, colorful hairscrunchie on my wrist, almost like a bracelet, it feels feminine and it's useful too. If puts me in feminine mood, somehow, when it comes to clothes. And I tied a beautiful classy looking scarf on the back of my purse, it always feel stylish and it's a feminine statement of mine...Even when you see me from the back. I have learned so much from your videos. Suddenly I couldn't wear the yoga/workout pants as casual clothing, I suddenly see how it looks... I even care about dressing feminine/classy at home now, comfortable fabric that feels soft upon my skin and colors which I love and floral print, my absolute favorite. It's the best I know in my closet. Skirts and floral and I rock it with some feminine looking sneakers. I love heels but when casual I take the sneakers, to my skirts.

Literally the video I needed 🙌🙌🙌 I work in a VERY business casual environment. Like, they said it was business casual when I was hired, and most people wear jeans, sneakers, and sweatshirts. We can literally wear whatever we want to on saturdays. However, I choose to only wear skirts. Every saturday people literally show up in their pajamas, and I'm the odd one out in a casual outfit. I basically dress the same tuesday-saturday, other than wednesday when I want to look a bit nicer when I go straight to mid-week church.

Thank you so much for this video! I have been trying to dress more feminine (even including dresses and skirts). So many family members ask ' Why are you so dressed up?' Even when it's a basic jersey/cotton maxi dress.

I wear dresses and skirts everyday, I have one pair of jeans, dresses are so comfortable! For everyday, casual look I choose cotton, jerseys and viscose. Most of my office dresses are navy, dark blue or dark green. In the summer I wear light fabrics and more playful patterns and colours. I work in totally masculine industry and work mainly with men, so wearing dress gives me some kind of signature look and feeling of feminity. Since I swiched to dresses as office clothes I never had trouble matching pieces together, it's just one piece and some minimal accesories (small silver earings, delicate silver braclet, scarf, small bag). It gives me less stressful mornings, less decisions to make ;) Casual dress became my uniform and I totally encourage you to try!

You were right on about other people making comments about feminine clothing. It's sad to see other women getting catty, jelous or rude because someone decides to reject the culture norms of dressing androgynously, but it happens all the time.

Thank you so much for your videos. You've really helped me be able to embrace my femininity. I remember when I was little I always loved dressing up and being girly but when I got to kindergarten every girl seemed to hate dresses and thought they were uncool. I wanted to fit in so I stopped wearing them unless I was forced to wear something nicer for an occasion. Until recently. Now I'm 16 and it's taken me 10 years to get back to my true self!

This is something I need to start working on, lack of body confidence can make potentially drawing attention to yourself a difficult thing to get your head around but you are so right, why not celebrate the woman we are if we feel that will bring us joy ... I need to just be brave and stop worrying about judgement that is actually 100% irrelevant. Thank you 🌼🌸🌼

New subscriber here! I’m a total beginner at looking feminine. To be honest, it’s only recently that I learned how to apply makeup properly, and become more selective in choosing my clothes. As a plus-sized girl, I am finding it difficult to look for clothes that would make me look feminine, and less frumpy looking, haha. This is not to say that I have given up on trying to look fit-I am doing my best, but hormone problems get in the way. I’m working on it, though. Sometimes, using something like hair ribbons or scarves to your hair make a difference in helping one look polished. I have always loved putting on hair ribbons to my ponytail-a bow sometimes gives it a nice touch. :)

It's like you read my mind! I was just today wondering how to be casual and feminine, since a lot of girls dress casually in a masculine or lazy way. I was wearing a pink t shirt and wondered if the shade of pink was too much a little girly color for me to wear, but this video has convinced me it's not. It's feminine!

I never been envied by other women before. But now that I decided that I want to start to be more feminine and decided to better myself and not look like a mess or a slob I’ve notice that I do get more negative attention from other women. And i would wonder why. I really don’t go over board with my looks. I wear simple but decent clothing that expresses my femininity and I wear light make up that doesn’t cover up how I really look...idk it’s unsettling. All my life I was always trying to hide or burry deep my feminine side for whatever reason. And I would act more masculine then I really felt or wanted to be. But I’m tired of it. I just want to embrace that side of me that I’ve ignored. Since this is so knew to me that’s why I find your vids and other like you so helpful. So thank you for this vid. I truly appreciate you and others like you who try to better themselves and others. Thank you & God bless you.😊💜

I have been so stuck after having a child - and feeling like I’m so not feminine anymore. And I cut my hair and now it just feeling off. Do you have a feminine mother video? Like the idea of being able to find looks that suit a lifestyle of stay at home parent / Occassion work / not a lot of formal as we live at the beach. I love this video too! Very helpful to look into my existing pieces and see how un-feminine the sillohette have been.
