Very good video for anyone that has one of the affected vehicles. I had to get a emergency repair fuel line kit for my ex Neon when the factory plastic line got a pinhole leak in it one day going to work. Did it on the side of the road with some wire cutters and the kit that was like 15 bucks. It got me down the road till I could find a 95 only OEM fuel line that has been discontinued. Never had to mess with the tipm or fuse/relay block it had other than to check fuses and relays when it was having very occasionall issues.

Absolutely always good to have a buddy who is a mechanic. But don't abuse that fact. The man needs to be paid for his profession. ✌

Quick diagnosis 💪🏽

Good ol' fuse m25 lol. This is a good one to show the rookies.. they probably replaced the pump twice because they "saw" voltage on the m25 supply, but the internal relay isnt passing any current. I usually try to run a 55w light bulb off it to test. Made a video on one today lol.

Only suggestion I ever get is to replace fuel pump.. what doesn't make sense to me on my truck is it'll fire up on the second crank(fuel pump primed not a complete crank on 1st crank).. then once it's warmed up no problem it'll start on first crank.. why?.. your suggestions? TIA

Hi i have a ford f150 2008...we just switched the fuel pump because a mechqnic came and was 100% sure it was that....but still it only cranks and wont start........we checked the pump relay and the ground cable doesnt light up...idk what it can be or what else we can do

i have a 2011 ram 1500 doing the same thing. i can get it started with starter fluid and it stays running and will run fine once started. My mechanic recommends a fuel pump replacement but i have also seen this issue as well pop up searches. my question is since mine does run just wont start could it be the same thing?

I'm having a similar issue with my Chevy cavalier, my question is is it possible to use a jumper wire on an external relay instead of a fuse I just need to get my car home so I can do a more in depth diagnostic

Hey man very curious I know it’s 2 years later but this is very informative but im very curious if you have an answer for this but I have a ram 1500 4.7l 2012 and certain times of the year like as in example December to march sounds crazy I know i even sound crazy saying this but it does this thing where the fuel pump won’t kick on till the pickup is jumped or put on a booster but after march it works perfectly fine is this something related electrical or fuel pump issue it’s done this the last 2 years

I’m having the same issue. The previous owner already put in the jumper wire. When I turn the key on I can hear the fuel pump buzzing when I try to start. It sounds like it’s trying to start but it definitely sounds like I have power to the pump.

I have a 2016 ram v6 What mine does ones I put some starting fuel in it it will start and stay on What do u think that might be cuz I can hear the fuel pump come on Also I have a check engine light on for a brake switch light I replaced it still says same check engine light on all lights work all breaks and disk’s new also emergency brakes got new shoes plz someone help me I’m tired of paying this mechanics and no one knows why it’s keep doing that after we put the brake switch light on that’s when I started having the issue of the truck not starting and we had to put starting fluid to start someone please help me

Funny all my friends seam to think that my mechanical skills should be free. I've got really good at responding to there mechanical issues with. And how is that my problem.

Bad fuel pump. Nothing else. I already know Cuz it has gone silent. No more buzzing noises. Fuses and relays are good. Car won't start lack of fuel but the only code that popped up is p0340. But it's not the camshaft position sensor or the crankshaft position sensor. It has to be the fuel pump cuz the buzzing noise is gone. No matter what is done, it won't start even this method you used in the video. It's a bad fuel pump for my car.
