nothing better than free, them are some great looking pine logs, thats about the size I want to be working with well them below 20,oh I was watching a video today some company known for there quatersawn lumber they was saying to place stickers 12 to 24 " depending on thickness ,it was frank miller lumber ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vbaXWmEiS98.html they tell all about the process of quatersawing wood,i want to say it was around 3:21 on the video not very long
Southern Sawyer 's, my perfect size log is 16-18". Doesn't work you to death, and you can still get an 8" cant rss easily. Lapsiding & my board and batten are 8" boards. You get a decent amount more lumber for basically the same amount of cutting as say a 12-13" log
thts nice 8" boards are pretty good for normal use,oh what size logs are not worth milling, dont want to end up with more trash than lumber lol,i was sort of figured nothing under 11 diameter
