NotYourAverage999 Staying busy helps a lot. Put all your focus into school,work or a hobby. Also remember why you broke up and try to focus on all the negative parts of the relationship lol. Sometimes I miss the person But I remember how they treated me and made me feel and I know I made the right decision.

Exactly... I have been through this and it's over a year now, and i still find myself crying and overthinking it.... Since he was the first guy I ever truly liked but... he didn't seem to like me with the same intensity. Never got my closure... never wanted to see me again at least for a walk in the park to discuss to hug each other since the break up was so messy. He would pop up with messages once in two months.... in the night, asking to meet for hooking up, always reminding me that it doesn't mean he wants to get back together... Never understood how disrespected and hurtful those messagesa made me feel... It still breaks me a little...

@@cristin8er96 Girl you are not alone. I know how shitty it feels. I'm in a similar situation but I wouldn't necessarily call him an ex since we were in a situationship. He never asked me to become his girlfriend and he knew exactly which buttons to push. I sent him a long text about deciding to end and walk away from that situationship and this dude sends me a picture of him saying if I don't really want that meaning him. Effin narcissist...plus this guys was 16 years older than me. Im 26....it was a 10 month toxic cycle. I decided to walk away for good. I wasted 10 months hoping he would give me a a gf title but never. I hate myself for being so naive. Im so fed up with these guy games.

^^ This. I made the mistake of agreeing to speak with my ex after over two weeks of separation and his constant attempts to contact me. The entire time, he refused to listen to me and turned every issue I mentioned back onto my shoulders where I literally began to redoubt my view and my worth and spent the next few days in depression after I had just began to feel mostly recovered before agreeing to meet. Just don't do it. The only way I found closure was accepting that they're never going to listen to your side no matter how you present it. I've tried yelling out of frustration and showing them I'm not a pushover, I've tried being calm since yelling isn't a healthy form of communication, I've tried being sympathetic by focusing on their issues and dropping my own, I've tried eliciting sympathy through informing them of the daily affect this has on my health. I tried every angle and had to come to terms that it had nothing to do with what I said or how I said it: they didn't think they did wrong and you're not going to change that about them. Accepting that is the best kind of closure. Especially for me, cause like said, I went into depression thinking I did everything wrong and that I let my emotions get the better of me and I was asking too much of them. In the end, I had to accept that yes I could have done things better for the sake of doing the right thing. And that that statement can be true while also accepting that, in this scenario, it never would have made a difference. They were already decided that they weren't going to listen to my side before the conversation began.

Damn Christmas must be popular for a lot of guys. The guy I’ve been talking to the past few months disappeared on me when Christmas came around. His excuse was its holiday season it’s busy. Then he went on to say we’re not together we’re just friends. I said I know but we used to speak everyday, you were calling me baby and now your acting like my feelings are irrational. A couple hours later I woke from a nap and saw a text from him saying “sorry”. I didn’t respond and still trying not to respond because this guy knows I fell in love with him. We did a lot together. I went through the same thing but it empowered me. I had very rough days where I felt like giving up. My husband left me when my Daughter was 1 years old. He said it’s easier to not try then try...🤔you can’t force anyone to be a parent let alone a man. My daughter is now 10 and I have a career job. I could complains about some things but honestly what motivates me is remembering my daughter and I were abandoned and I pulled through it. Women are the true warriors! We can persevere through anything because we are amazing! We are nurturers! I wish you the best! I’m a year late on this comment but I’m sure your doing amazing things! ❤️much love from one mother to the next
