I've not touched filmora as I pay for the adobe creative cloud suite - it gives me access to lightroom for photos, premiere pro for videos and photoshop for graphic design which I find more valuable than just using a one off editing suite. But it could work for others

So much important stuff is about the output settings in post. This is something I need to learn more about. I’m really happy with my GoPro settings in camera and love using ND’s to nail the 180° rule. Thanks for the info!

Thanks for this video, clears some of the problems I've had editing my 1st gopro 4k video. I tried editing using gopro quik, bad idea, I resulted to using my filmora editor and it could handle the stress... so thanks for this video

So let me ask you this. I usually record in 4k30 and render in 4k30. No problems with quality, RU-vid is giving me the better codec, and my machine is capable of rendering the video. But the footage and the final result are HUGE. Talking up to 100GB in size after editing for a 20 min video. Is there any benefit to record in 2.7k instead?

How would I go about this if I’m doing all my editing on an iPad cause the iPad doesn’t show all the settings and options like a desktop does. I recently changed my filing to 4K but idk how to export it in 4K. I edit on iMovie if that helps. Thanks!

GoPro defaults to H.265 so yes, I would recommend that, especially for mobile editing

Hey Jake! I stumbled upon your channel and love it and your content has helped me a lot, thank you so much!! I’m super new to GoPro/shooting setttings/post editing. I’m scratching the surface. I’ve always been fascinated in the video content creation world but never dove in. I switched my GoPro settings into 4K/60fps...will that cause the video to not pop up in the GoPro app? If I choose to continue to shoot in 4K/60...how will I be able to get that content to my mobile? I’ve always just pulled it from the GoPro app, download to my phone, import to iMovie, do a few edits and export the edits to my phone and then upload from there. I assume I’ll have to manually plug my GoPro into my MacBook Pro and import the content to maintain 4K?

shooting in 4K will still allow you to download to the GoPro app, it may remove the ability to preview the clip before downloading it but you'll still be able to download it and edit it on your phone (from the app) Enjoy

I have windows 10 so HEVC is compatible but when I transfer it to Davinci Resolve it doesn't let me play it. It won't play in GoPro Quik either, only on windows. Do you know why? Thanks in advance!

I have GoPro 10 black. I shoot 1080p coz my Pc doesn't support 2k editing. when I upload to youtube the picture quality drops too much. I have seen many videos and tried exporting from editing software using the 4k setting. still no use. how you do it. Please tell.

Dont really reccomend 1080 on Gopro. For some reason, 1080 just doesnt look great when recorded, and doesnt help after its been compressed and uploaded.

When exporting my GoPro Hero 8 footage in the highest bitrate the export fails. So I have exported at a lower bitrate and of course the footage looks awful.

Use 4K 60 if you’re after the best content out of your GoPro - you can always edit it on another computer later done the track but you can’t re-record captured moments

Literally no PC system can handle HEVC without extra PAID plugins and other ridiculous setups. Then, youtube cannot handle long videos in 60fps. After about 25 minutes, you get lagging every few seconds

Ive tried all the setting combinations on my hero 10. Still worse than a basic cell phone camera. Not even 1080 quality. Looks more like 640 x 480. Try pausing and zooming in. Gopro is blurry when zoomed. Yes its a tiny sensor but my phone camera is even smaller. Gopro only has one job, video quality, and it lags behind phones. I do like the build quality, the app, voice control and so much more. But the one thing that matters is video quality and that is so far behind all the rest of the gopro experience.

that's because it was introduced in the HERO 6 cameras - below that the default was H.264

yea we mountain bikers always have the most shit footage, even in proper lighted conditions, we just have so much movement, and youtube compression hates moving objects and thus makes anything with a lot of moving objects apselute shit
