i have skidded timber using cordage and a timber hitch. the 1/2 hitch helps steer the logs but also keeps the front end of them from jamming in the ground, works like jack the bear.
Could the timber hitch be used in a tree care routine? As in a clover up in a tree having the need to use a let down rope to control the path of a freshly cut branch out of the tree. Instead of using a bowline or running bowline?
Man.. this is just wrong. Bite the rope. Twist it up 7 times. Out the logs over the rope and put loose end trough the bite. Simple. Synthetic vs natural fiber is not important when you twist it up.
