Ok - do this mega set every muscle Up session! Start with full good muscle ups, then when you can’t do any more in good form, STAY ON THE BAR & do high pull up reps, then pull ups, then half rep pull ups, never coming off the bar, then hold dead hang until you slip off the bar! 3 years later and I’m taking this advice. I started muscle ups two weeks ago and within a week I increased from a chicken wing to 4-6 in a row. I’ll update what my progress is with your advice.

I’ll say though I was already doing pull ups regularly and I could do 3 reps of weighted pull ups with 80lbs.

I actually found my reps and explosivity increasing when I stopped going past failure, or even going to failure. Just sticking with the 3 kipping reps I can do and just doing more sets, usually ending with high pull-ups. Last month I did my first clean muscle up, so I will stick to the clean one followed by a few high pullups.

Great short video Marcus. Really informative and to the point. 💪👏. How many sets of this protocol would you advise per session (1-3?) and what rest period per set, 3-5 mins?. I’m at an intermediate level with 3 strict MU’s currently. Thank you mate

Great advise!! I also think adding a bit of weight(20-30lbs) sometimes helps too!

Daniel Rodriguez yes - but only if you use muscle power and don’t try it when your muscles are fatigued / so then your joints/tendons will suffer - just 5kg is plenty for mup staining 😀⚡️💪🏽

Weights are for LOSERS! *YES,* I *CONFIRM* it. It's only the result of two( main) things: 1→the lurid fashion, 2→the thinking “oh my God, I cannot keep this pace/I cannot progress like this/I don't know enough varietions...(so )the only way is to add weights... .”. The real truth IS that IT IS *ABSOLUTELY POSSIBLE* withOUT *ANY* weight!

I only have a doubt on half pull ups..... :-/ :-\ my mind is only on the *HIGH(/best)* quality set-up... .
