Metal roofs are the perfect platform for mounting a wide variety of ancillaries. With the popularity of Starlink satellite broadband internet growing everyday, there's a need to find a dependable mounting solution to exposed-fastened metal roofing. That's what makes the GRIPPERFIX Utility Mounting System by S-5! such a good combination. Attaching everything to the roof is quick, easy, and capable of handling anything mother nature throws at it.

I used your products to do a similar install for my Starlink. It made the install both easy and secure. I highly recommend your products to anyone installing a Starlink system on an aluminum roof. Thank you!

This video just convinced me to jump into the GripperFix system. I think you're gonna help me solve a lot of problems. I just placed an order with Big Rock Supply for a wide selection of struts, clamps, tabs, bolts, nuts, and screws. I'll likely have to dedicate one of my Packout organizers to S-5!.

Nice kit if you need that extra height. We bolted 4 neodymium "fishing magnets" to the included stand with stainless hardware, put soft rubber sticky pads on the bottom of the magnets to protect the finish of the roof, and stuck it right to the metal on the leeward side of the peak, then passed the wire over the foam and under the ridge cap with a drip loop. Two years later its seen gusts in excess of 80 mph and not budged. (Columbia river gorge) It's a less intrusive option if you're willing to trust magnets.

That is a very interesting solution. Thank you for sharing and we would love to see photos if you would like to share them.

Which brackets would work best for a snap lock galvalum? And would it be better to put thr starlink cable through some type of conduit?
@TheMetalRoofingAcademy
@TheMetalRoofingAcademy Год назад
Hi, There are several types of snap lock panels that will use different camps. If you can send us photos and measurements of your seam to support@s-5.com we can let you know the proper clamp for your seam. It is typically best to run cables through conduit to protect them from exposure to the elements and pests. We have our Canduit brackets that mount to our clamps and brackets allowing you to easily run conduit anywhere on the roof. Also please see the satellite mounting kit link. buys-5.com/product/satellite-dish-mounting-kit

I put mine on with the pivot mount from SL with some strong magnets that are coated with rubber. I got hit directly with a hurricane & my dish didn't go anywhere. Much better than screws. I can move it or take it down with ease.

We are glad you found a solution you like. Just please note that this project is on an exposed-fastener roof, which has hundreds of penetrations already - as is the way these roofs are supposed to be installed. We have a non-penetrative solution for standing seam roofs which is what you might have.

Seems like this mounting system is pretty modular; you could mix and match the pieces to mount anything you want. That is very nice for standing in the hardware store piecing a project together, but it makes purchasing what one needs online a little confusing. Could you list the SKUs for what exactly you used here? Thank you!

Hello I have a question about this kit. On the description of the kit it says, “not for use on screw down panel profiles” My roof is made of corrugated screw down panels (like the corrugated roof on this video) Can I still use this kit?

Did you use sealant on top of the roof where the screw pierced the metal?
@TheMetalRoofingAcademy
@TheMetalRoofingAcademy 7 месяцев назад
The only sealant we used is the factory-applied EPDM on the feet of the EF Tabs and the washers of the self-piercing screws.

How on earth are you supposed to bring the Starlink cable down inside from a metal roof. We get tons of snow where we live so we can’t just run a cable willy-nilly somewhere
@TheMetalRoofingAcademy
@TheMetalRoofingAcademy Год назад
If you are mounting your dish in the middle of your roof and need to safely route the cable across the roof, we would recommend running the cable through conduit and attaching it to the roof using our Canduit brackets. To ensure the conduit does not act as a snow retention system, we would recommend that it be ran across the roof near the ridge or below a snow retention system as neither conduit nor the Canduit brackets are intended for snow retention purposes.

Do you have a list of parts for the taller option?
@TheMetalRoofingAcademy
@TheMetalRoofingAcademy Год назад
Depends on roof type. If you send pic to support@s-5.com they can tell you which bracket or clamp fix your metal roof profile.
@dannydivine7699
@dannydivine7699 8 месяцев назад
Could you not just go under the ridge cap right where you were to avoid a long exposed cable run???
@TheMetalRoofingAcademy
@TheMetalRoofingAcademy 8 месяцев назад
Going under the ridge would have been an option for this application, but it's not always an option, depending on the roof and satellite location, and we wanted to show this for demonstration purposes to show possible solutions for cable management.

M8 bolts ! What - US citizens talking metric- God help us -I mean congratulations on joining the world
@TheMetalRoofingAcademy
@TheMetalRoofingAcademy Год назад
A large portion of products are sold internationally and Imperial tools are very difficult to source outside the US. However Metric tools are every easy to source in the US and likely already in any tradesman or handyman's toolbox. So the choice to use metric bolts and torque screws in our products was made to make them easy to use anywhere in the world.

@@TheMetalRoofingAcademy It appears as though he's referring to the use of the starlink's default mount with one of your mounting systems. I was confused when this didn't work for me as well, but luckily, my partner had purchased the pivot mount by mistake.

Do not buy Starlink. My Service was down for three months. The problem was with their settings in house, and they could not correct it. They also continued to bill me for the months they could not provide service. They are even continuing to bill me, even thought I sent my equipment back to them weeks ago. --- Fair Warning: If your Starlink service goes down, you may be in for one helluva ride. All in all, I paid Starlink over $1400 dollars and I received service for only about 4 months.
