I slightly boil the cabbage first and drain the water. I use a food processor so no liquid is required. I use psyllium husk powder to thicken the fufu. Yummy 😋

Dear Golden star I suggest u shld have just helped em out with the recipe to avoid much story n offensive argument For pple that doesn't understand English the cabbage is obvious but d oatmeal might just b mistaken for baking flour, or any other thing u knw so there question or suggestion isn't called for arguments..I come in peace 🚶♀️🚶♀️🚶♀️🚶♀️🚶♀️
@@goldenstar9379 damn girl, you really didn't need to be so rude to them. You can just help them understand better without the back and forth. Even in a classroom setting, not every student will grasp what is taught the first minute, hour or day the lesson is taught. It would be cruel to label the students who didn't understand the lesson immediately as "dumb" or scold them. Don't get offended when people ask questions, they weren't even being disrespectful to the channel owner.
Don't use blender use food processor get a good one and use the blade and you don't need any water. A food processor is invaluable in the Afro kitchen. Cabbage juice. Use leftovers in soup or make a drink
Awwww the fufu turned out sooo super smooth. One of the best here on RU-vid. I told Zikkies World two weeks ago when she made broccoli 🥦 fufu, I got my psyllium hux to join but I am gathering momentum 😂😂 Nne you did sooo good with squeezing and I love the oatmeal you used too. Perfection with that soup 🥣🙌🙌🙌👌👌❤️❤️

@@tastycity Hey! welldone, and great presentation. But when I tried this, the cabbage had a sweet taste that I didn't like. Did I do something wrong or did yours also has the sweet taste?
See that soup, I was looking to see why the colour is like that til I see u used oatmeal to bind, normally I use psyllium husk cos I don't know one could use oat as a binder but now I have learnt that, what am I still waiting for 🤸♀️🤸♀️🤸♀️🤸♀️great recipe
@@perpetuachiamaka2253 thank you SO MUCH for the response! Now I definitely am going to make my very first FuFu. We Russians LOVE CABBAGE in any form - and this will be very special. Just curious where are you writing from? I am in New York.
Introduce vegetables but use our binders fermented cassava, cassava flour, fermented cornmeal (any cornmeal, make sure it is yellow or cornmeal flour) keep it close to our food. Keep the carbs the same just Introduce more vegetables, cabbage, pumpkin, and squash. Thank you again from jamaica 🇯🇲 Trelawny. May the Creator bless and keep 🙏 you and your 3

I went to an African Market today for shea butter came home , chilled and hours later clicked on yt . Now i looking at a fufu video. I never even thought or knew about fufu. Diabolical. 😒🤔
What I do not to loose much nutrients from my own cabbage is to steam the cabbage with liiiiiitle water, then I blend. There I don’t throw away anything

1. History: Fufu/Fufuo means "mash or mix" in Twi (language of the Akan ethnic groups in Ghana) and is a specific staple food for the Akans in southern part of Ghana and Ivory Coast, West Africa but now commonly features in many West and Central African countries in different textures but not every doughy African foods are Fufu. Eg. is saying in Twi "fufu 3to (mash spicy ripped plantains mixed with palm oil eaten with peanuts) or fufu Gari Foto (mix spicy Gari with palm oil") Fufuo (also means white and derived from the white color of cassava) is soft doughy swallow food made out of boiled cassava mixed with plantains or coco yams and pounded together in a mortar (waduro) with a pestle (woma) unique to the Akans, and only eaten with liquid soups (nkwan) such as, Light soup (Nkrakra nkwan), palm nut soup, peanut soup, Abunabun soup (green vegetable) with meats, fishes, snails, crabs, mushrooms and okro (nkruma) on the side. Fufuo/fufu is usually served in Asanka or Ayowaa (an earthware bowl; black or red in color) with the liquid soups poured on the Fufuo/fufu to look like an island which helps reduce the stickiness while eating. *Right way to eat Fufu: In between both the index and middle fingers cut a piece of the Fufuo/fufu like a scissor, tap a hole in it, scoop the soup and swallow, never chew the Fufu in order to enjoy the taste of the soup while swallowing. *Authentic Ghana Fufuo/fufu preparation ⬇️ 1. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PQIa0V9L-PE.html 2. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ro7-6AYftkw.html 3. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-i_nMyOSvMf8.html In the typical Akan region in Ghana, Fufuo is mostly use but Ghanaian businesses men used only the name Fufu when they processed the authentic Fufuo/Fufu into cassava/plantains /coco yam flour 1. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SszPhlmWDJE.html 2. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Z_XeI7n3aj8.html some years ago and sold mainly in Ghana markets in most western countries such as America because they couldn't pound the Fufu just like they would in Ghana, as it's very noisy when pounding and it became popular among other Africans and parts of the Caribbean and now Nigerians are calling almost every African doughy foods as Fufu even though they have their names; Nigerian Pounded yam (Iyan), Akpu (fermented cassava dough), Amala, Eba, semolina, oatmeal, cabbage. Nigerian thicker soup textures are considered stews in Ghana and are eaten with plain rice or Ampesie (boiled cubes of yams, plantains, cocoyams, cassava etc) since Ghana soups are generally liquid texture which aide in swallowing the soft Ghana Fufuo/fufu. 2. watch this video ⬇️ ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CLeI7TAGe4Q.html on Channels Television, a Nigerian news media where a Nigerian man wrongly gave false information to the Nigerian public lying on Ghana 🇬🇭 and claiming that Ghana's national Pona yams comes from Nigeria. *Pona yams are grown only in Ghana 🇬🇭 and are usually medium in size, sweet taste, white with smooth outer skin texture and eaten as Ampesie (boiled cubes of yams, plantains, cocoyams, cassava etc) and eaten with stews in Ghana . ⬇️ Pona yams- ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JUbhz-TT22g.html
not sure why utube chose to show me this today, its 2 years old and just serves to annoy me. Cabbage is so tender, cooks in a minute yet someone decided years ago this was an appropriate method for preparation? All water soluble vitamins/minerals gone! You're left with cabbage fiber...know better, do better
Hi sis, please can I use ogbono in the place of psyllium husk as a thickener? Cos I can’t get psyllium husk presently and someone told me ogbono works too but I want to also ask a professional before going ahead.
Amazing video which I'm eager to try. However I would like to know whether the nutrient is not taken out of the cabbage when you drain all the water out.
Confused 😕. Cabbage fufu. Really?! The health benefits must be immense apart from reducing the traditional starch that comes with fufu. Looking forward to trying this 🤔🤔 Good video 📹 👍
My sister don't tell me you ate that alone not sharing with me😃 ,infact the soup and the cabbage fufu are good combination, love how you made this , healthy swallow. Thanks so much for sharing. 👏👏👏
@@tastycity I just came across this video for the first time. Please for someone that is not on keto diet but want to lose or maintain a healthy weight eat this swallow thicken with oatmeal, without psyllium husk nor zantan gum?
Oh my Goodness 😀😀 .This recipe could very well be the alternative to Eba/Tuwon shinkafa/semo and I can hardly wait to pair this off with my next Efo riro or egusi/Bitterleaf soup 🤗😀😀. Thanks❤❤❤ and God bless you🙏🙏🤲
Waaaoooo just came across dis and i find this so wonderful. You are so blessed for teaching us dis healthy delicious meal. I will definitly give it a try. Just subscribed to you to learn more of this👍. Tnk you so muchhhhhh 🙏🙏
use a bigger knife so you reduce chance of cutting yourself. Measurements are important. if I want to use pysllium husk , how much? You add a little amount of water...why a little.? Describe texture.
