Ingredients:
Chicken Wings: Middle Section
Soy Sauce: 2 tbsp
Mirin: 2 tbsp
Sake or Cooking Wine: 2 tbsp
Sugar: 1 tbsp
Salt: a little bit
Black Pepper: a little bit
Cayenne Pepper: a little bit
Garlic Powder: a little bit
Vegetable Oil: For frying

I made these tonight .....AWESOME!! I separated the sauce and added fresh minced sand ginger to one and a dash of Avery Island La McIlhennyCo tabasco Sauce and it was just as fantastic...Thank you for your GREAT tutorials!!Best Asian cookery have found yet simple and ...HUMOROUS TOO!

Just made these 20 mins ago and they're great! I recommend doubling his wet sauce recipe so it's easier to apply the wet sauce if you're making 24 or more wings. The dry mix was plenty though. My fryer only goes to 375 F (i'm guessing for safety reasons) so I raised the 2nd frying time to 4.5 min, instead of the 3 min at 390.

Scarlett Kwong Wanted to ask someone who actually made and ate these wings with the recipe. I noticed he did not marinate the wings at all, did the wings taste bland and did the extra pepper at the end make the wings too spicy.... just wondering.

Hi Raymond. I tried this recipe on some massive turkey wings. I chose to bake them, but I'm not opposed to frying. Maybe next time. The wings tasted GREAT! And the spice blend that you sprinkle on the wings works on everything. It's a great way to spice up scrambled eggs (for example). Thank you for your videos. Hey Raymond, thanks for posting this. I'm from Nagoya and I love Tebasaki. I prefer "Furaibo" better than "Yamachan" but they are both very tasty. Are you Japanese-American? I noticed you speak Japanese quite well.

It's really more like bar food than a side dish. But, I suppose if you wanted to make it more of a meal, just serve them with rice and maybe some tsukemono on the side.

Tsukemono basically means "pickled things" and is generally just some sort of pickled vegetable. Cucumber, radish, ginger, etc.

Margo Mays You can get mirin at your Japanese market or look in your Asian section. If you can’t find it, just omit it. Sometimes I cook without the mirin and it’s still flavorful.

you can use 1 or 1/2 table spoon honey, sugar or maple syrop instead of mirin.

15tintin Mirin is not that sweet, the taste of it is between a sweet vinegar and white wine, I don't know how you can substitute a vinegar/wine with honey. You can find Mirin on Amazon; or use sushi vinegar; or white vinegar with a bit of sugar; or just a light sherry. Your best bet is online, you can find all your Asian spices/ condiments at very reasonable prices. Good luck with your find.
