Very nicely done! The best tutorial on this that I've seen thus far! I wouldn't have had to look at any other, if I got yours first. Thanks for showing the programming procedure for multiple remotes! Did I say, "Very nicely done?" If not, Very nicely done! Thanks!!
Thank you for explaining ALL of the steps needed to program the fob. The additional steps of " first getting in and locking and unlocking all of the doors" is not listed by many others that have videos on this subject. Thanks you!
On a side note, if your lock unlock button won't work on the drivers side door,(mine will lock but not unlock) you can use the passenger side lock unlock button. I was able to program my remotes easily for my 2004 Ranger. Thank you very much for explaining this, it worked like a charm!
Worked great on my 1998 Ford Explorer XLT. Of course I need one but ended up programing my new remote along with my old remote at the same time so there was no problem doing that either. Thanks alot. Scott
Does that mean that when I program my 2 new fobs, that my existing (original) fob will stop working? If so, Do I just do what he did in the video only with all 3 at the same time? Thanks.
Thanks a lot guy. It took no time at all to program my remote. And Webb's ford dealership couldn't program it for me lol so yeah thanks man, good video
Thank you so much! I just bought a new (to me) vehicle and the remote is VERY used. I had one from the old vehicle (totalled) that is still looking new and it works for the new one now. LOVE IT.
If the instructions in this video don't work, it's possible your vehicle battery (not keyfob battery) has a low voltage. I spent an hour trying in vain to program my original keyfob plus a new one and couldn't get it to work. I turned the key from position II to I four times, heard the beep, but pressing a button had no effect. I then checked the vehicle battery voltage and it was less than 12V. I proved it was the battery voltage causing the issue by hooking up the charger then retried the procedure and it WORKED! Both fobs now lock and unlock, however soon after removing the charger, it again won't lock it unlock. All I need now is a new vehicle battery... possibly others do too if you can't get programming mode to work. The central locking / remote system is evidently very sensitive to the state of the vehicle battery.
98 Mountaineer. I bought one spare to go with my one original (the 2nd original broke). Once you get into the car, is it absolutely necessary to press the lock then unlock from the door panel first? My driver side unlock doesn't work, but works to lock only. Can I use the passenger side button to do the locking and unlocking than program the remotes? My instructions did not include the step for toggling the lock/unlock on the door panel before doing the programming. Really don't want to screw up the programming in my original remote in case it doesn't work. Btw, my car keys won't lock or unlock my car doors anymore thru the keyhole (on both doors), but they will both start the car. Well, if I'm lucky the car keys will unlock the door MAYBE once every 15 minutes if i keep trying. The problem is that the keys won't turn. You should hear the B.S. I got from the car dealer. They said that the keys get worn out due to usage in the ignition. Well, if that's true I recommend that everyone use there car keys in the keyholes from time to time instead of using there remotes from time to time to see if that happens. Thanks!
If you can't get this procedure to work, check your fuses. My 2003 King Ranch had as blown 5 amp fuse in slot 29.....replaced the fuse and programmed the crap out of it.
I had to order a new Remote to unlock my doors, my old one still works but it no longer will stay on my keychain. The original one was the kind that automatically starts my car Which was added to the car after I bought it. The new one I bought is just for unlocking the doors. When my new remote is programmed if I have my old one in the car will it be reprogrammed like the new one and will it still start my car? Your help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
if i bought new fob .. do i reprogram the original one key? . or does it program auto when programming fob?I have one separate orig key and a trunk key does key reprogram when i program my new fob? I have 2005 ford focus
worked on my '03 f150! but now my remote starter wont start the truck...LOL..the car starter remote still locks/unlocks, but wont start it. the remotes for the starter were inside the house when i successfully programmed 2 keyless entry remotes.
So I did this on my 2005 Expedition & it worked! But now there's another issue..Expedition won't turn on. My Expedition has some security thingy where if you stop it, turn it off & don't lock the doors when you get back into the suv it won't turn on until you lock the doors with the remote then unlock..THEN it'll turn on..well thats happening & I don't know why! I've tried locking & unlocking with the new remote but no go...HEEEELP PLEASE!! :(
my truck only came with keys and not remotes... can i just buy the remotes and program them or does the truck have to have something special installed. if so, what so i look for to comfirm thanks in advance
