....thanks for the video....despite having/reading the instructions on page 6 of the manual....I wasn't sure which switch was the "gear switch" on my DX6 since all my switchs are labeled with letters....and nowhere have i ever read that the letter "A" switch was also referred to as the "gear" switch ...now I have flaps.....thanks again....

Hold left stick down and to the left, Right Stick up and to the Right then toggle gear switch (A) five times

when i did the flap setup thing, the switch toggled the flaps, but instead of both of them going in one direction they go in opposite directions, and this wouldn’t work because the flaps, if toggled like this, would just cause the plane to barrel roll instead of slowing down.

you can channel assign your flaps to any switch. My flaps are on switch D.n and it works great

Brian, you are 100% correct mine is also on D the tricky part of the setup that has people confused is how to toggle on the flap mixing which is default A or gear switch, I messed up in how I said , thanks for the feedback, love this plane

Thanks for this video, I've never had to enable flaperons on an airplane before! One question, is there a difference in flight modes between having flaperons enabled/disabled (ex. SAFE staying on, built-in lower rates, etc.) or is it just a locked-away feature in case a user is flying on a radio with less than 6 channels (despite HH recommending 6+)?

Note Gear switch is (A) the flaps on my setup are on (D)

So the switch they refer to as switch 5 in the manual is really switch A? No wonder they don't work.

RTFM as the old saying goes. I have a UMX turbo timber, everything works as designed, but is it possible to include the ailerons on the tips to function as flapperons also?

On the full sized one yes the umx version no.

How do you like this model? I'm trying to decide whether to get another (it'd be my third) UMX Turbo Timber or the X. Love the UMX TT and now have batteries and plenty of spare parts but also feel the X would be awesome to own and fly.

Thanks for this video. I followed your steps and the elevators did the little dance just like yours did. BUT, when I use my switch D (which I also configured in the Flaps area as you did), the flaperons do nothing. I do hear some noise from inside the plane with each switch position, but no control surface movement. I'm baffled. I even deleted the whole profile and started over from scratch and it does the same thing.

@@Tallguysrc NX8; but I finally got it working just now. I came back and watched your video again, then went back outside. I tried it a half dozen times. No change. I had my Gear switch set to B (which is also my Safe switch). For grits 'n shins, I moved Gear to A (which also moved Safe to A). Then I tried again, and low and behold, IT WORKED. WTF? I dunno who does Spektrum's programming, but they need a slap upside the head. Or at least put that in the manual, SOMETHING.

The gear switch is flight modes, safe, as3x and on mine flaps are on another switch

@@Tallguysrc Gotcha, I'm an OpenTX so I'm not used to calling switches by a function like gear or flaps. I thought toggling the switch was assigning it, not just enabling flaps. I got it turned on and programmed perfectly, thanks for your help. For non-Spektrum people the flight modes and switch you have to toggle is channel 5, then flaps are on channel 6.
