Brilliant tutorial. This rig making looks fun, something to do when you can't get out on the beach. Have taken your advice on board, and will make myself numerous rigs; get a tangle unclip, new rig on and sort at home.

Less time untangling, more time fishing 😁

I am very keen to try glued rigs and this was the perfect tutorial. I’ll be visiting some time soon to buy some components.

Thank you, glad you found it useful. It's one of those things that seems daunting before you try it but, once you've done it a couple of times, it's so quick and easy.

I dont go sea fishing but sat and watch the whole video,the gluing bit was interesting and also the pop up you made it look so easy Tom but I am sure it will encourage others to try.Must be use there somewhere for carp fishing i'll have to think on that one.Great video.

Everything's easy when you've done it 1000 times! Lol I do have some hilarious gluing stories though, including one young lad gluing the pet dog to the carpet 😬🤣

Hi....can you tell me the snood line in Ibs please. I'm new to fishing and .33 is confusing to me 😔
@christchurchanglingcentre5428
@christchurchanglingcentre5428 3 месяца назад
There's no need for it to confuse you, all spools of line will state the diameter on the packaging, so just look for this rather than the b/s. My top tip would be, if a line doesn't state the diameter, don't buy it! If I stated a lbs breaking strain then there's every chance you'd buy the wrong line. Buying a 0.33mm line guarantees you won't. If you're new to fishing you have the perfect opportunity to not get into bad habits like the (sadly) majority of anglers in this country have been taught.

Tom, is there a way of reviving really thickened up rig glue ? Or has it had it,and needs replacing? 🤔

Sadly it needs replacing. I've tried a couple of times to revive old glue, but nothing has worked. Sorry.

I watchhed this pretty much back to back with the bream video. Would you still use glued rigs in a big swell? I saw in another comment that you'll happily use them for big fish, so they'd definitely be up tonthe task of craning big dogfish up a pier wall then?
@christchurchanglingcentre5428
@christchurchanglingcentre5428 10 месяцев назад
Definitely mate. If done correctly it's the strongest way. In a big swell I'd lose the pop ups, even consider shortening the snood lengths.
@tommoore.8947
@tommoore.8947 10 месяцев назад
@christchurchanglingcentre5428 cheers for that! In a big winter swell, (north Cornish coast, head high plus) is going under 12 inch snoods reducing the amount of different species I catch? I still tend to stick with a pop up on my top snoods in those conditions, but it's more to do with fishing a size 6 for anything that swims and keeping it away from the doggies.

Hi Tom, could we have a rod choice / set up video for beginners?
@christchurchanglingcentre5428
@christchurchanglingcentre5428 10 месяцев назад
Hi mate. I'm always reluctant to do rod choice stuff, as there are so many variables! budget, personal ability, location you fish etc. For most of my bream fishing on my local beaches I like a 4.2m 3 piece beach rod with a hybrid tip for bite detection. You can get great rods from as little as around £90 (check out the Tronixpro Guerilla range) and of course rods costing £600+ if money is no issue! Team this up with an appropriate sized fixed spool reel loaded with good quality mono (never braid!) of around 0.25mm with a tapered leader to match.

Hi Tom, is there any reason why you have ‘traditional’ swivels on the bream rig rather than the two-way beads that you use on other rigs?
@christchurchanglingcentre5428
@christchurchanglingcentre5428 10 месяцев назад
Hi mate. That's actually a great question. Unfortunately 90% of my customers/viewers will not have used (or possibly even heard of) 2 way beads, so I tend to stick with swivels in the hope this encourages more people to try the rigs. Oddly I tend to solely use swivels myself when shore fishing, even though I love 2 way beads for my boat fishing and know the benefits of them. It's a bit of an odd situation, and I think it's just because I'm a creature of habit (posh way of saying stuck in my ways!). The one situation that differs is when I'm using and urfe rig, swivels and the likes on urfes just add to the tangles, so I'm 100% 2 way beads on these. In short, you can use either on this rig, so by all means experiment and see what works best for you.
@peeannobar7797
@peeannobar7797 10 месяцев назад
@@christchurchanglingcentre5428 ok thanks Tom, you converted me fully to the two-way beads a while ago, so there’s no turning back for me now 🙂 Btw - thanks for a very good & informative video, although I always use a 2 up 1 down for my bream fishing, my snoods have always been much shorter so I shall be experimenting with 2 footers for my next trip out.

Just watching this Tom , you can reuse the grippa type pop ups , you can slide them off of the rig straight onto a loop of fine monofilament and use the mono loop in the same way as the wire .

Nice clear instructional, the rig holders look ideal, can you use any type of superglue or is it a special mono type?
@christchurchanglingcentre5428

I've tried a few, some work some don't, so I tend to stick (no pun intended) to this one, as it's never let me down.

Sadly not. Sorry. I would love to sell my rigs, but I just don't have the time to run a busy tackle shop and make rigs. It's a very time consuming job rig tying.
