Great to see Hogan wrestling in this style.Granted, he's not Kurt Angle, but he's clearly a far better than a lot of people give him credit for and I was pleasantly surprised several years ago when I first saw some of his Japanese work.
@@anglowarrior3871 I wish he would of wrestled like this in the wwf but then again that was part of His gimmick in the wwf being the hulkster finishing off the oponents with the atomic leg drop and win but people whi say that he cant wrestle should watch his matches in japan
This is why i love Japanese Puroresu. It brings out moves from American wrestlers you would not typically see. And it's simply because the Japanese are so proficient in amateur wrestling and it being featured in pretty much all of there matches. In some form or fashion. Along with martial arts style moves. It truly is THE BEST pro wrestling on the planet in my humble opinion. And while the WWE may have unfortunately gone the entertainment route. Japan still sticks with it's roots and hasn't changed. And that's why i prefer it over anything else.
It's what is expected in Japan. In Japan, you see more actual wrestling because that is what's appreciated. In America, the style is sports entertainment, not wrestling. I'm a wrestling fan, and I prefer this style but I guess it's not exiting enough for an American audience.
@@rolltide9547Ain't nobody carrying him in Japan.... They call him Ichiban for a reason. If Inoki was still alive he could tell you about the Axe Bomber.
@@rolltide9547 Clueless my ass....Inoki was supposed to beat Hogan for the first IWGP title and got legitimately knocked out with the Axe Bomber. They didn't screw with him for a reason.
Yes Japanese wrestling makes u wrestle and they put on great matches. GT would have been a great NWA wcw champion because hecis a big man who can wrestle.
Hogan in Japan was a different wrestler! I heard McMahon didn't want him to be too technical.Which is why I wonder why Hogan didn't show more of this repertoire during his WCW or even NWO run. Japan Hulk Hogan never got that credit.
When wwe was at japan in 90-91 Hulk is allowed to wrestle his new japan style but when Ted dibiase is there he not allowed to wrestle the stlye he do in all Japan?
Hogan didn’t look very happy that the Japanese wrestler didn’t take the 3 count twice. He apparently didn’t get the memo that the leg drop was Hogans finishing move. Someone check and see if Hogan wrestled in Japan after this match and finished anyone with the Leg Drop. I don’t see how he could because this match cheapened the move. Thats on Hogans not paying attention to detail. Im sure Jake the Snake would make sure its in the contract that the opponent takes the fall after a DDT.
@@CWAMemphis I just read up on this Mel Phillips child abuse scandal that was going on in the 80’s and that’s pretty horrific. Terry Funk whooped him up in a ring on a video for wearing his hat. I wonder if they were doing these things because they knew the dirty stuff they were doing to the kids?
yeah really awful I think the other wrestlers heard rumors that's all but still intimidated him basically wanted him to quit, WWF couldn't fire him without cause so when the scandal finally broke he was fired I think.
Look how Hulk pushes Mel Philips in the face. Or the look he would give to the referee, he was more free here in Japan then he was in the states. He was more creative than cookie cutter. If he did this in the states his run would have been different. I don’t think the American audience would be comfortable with him in this style/manner.
