Another amazing spot, full of rare VW's, early buses, Pre-67's etc. Scirocco's, Rabbit's, and even a Porsche 914 Follow my IG for the story and much more content @officialchrisstephens
The stories the VW Busses have most be interesting lol! One of the first Porsche 914’s I bought back in 00 was from a VW collector/hoarder and he told me back in college they followed the band Phish in a VW Bus with friends all across the country, they’d keep a keg in the center of the van and take turns driving.. now he’s a banker
I hate when this happens, i bet the owner had multiple offers over the years for the majority off them but he turned them down because hes "one day going to fix them" ..
Most of the time there “not” for sale, which means a couple of things. They either want someone to buy the entire lot with cash or they simply can’t sellbecause they may still be owned by others. Or there just plain nuts
It's so sad to see all these vws rusting away in the trees. I have been a vw enthusiast for over 20 years. These cars are getting g harder to find good ones. Good find to bad they wont ever leave there grave site
@@Richard-zc1cj VWs weren't always held in high regard Richard: They were cheap utility transportation with a quirky character. When they broke they weren't worth fixing to most folk. It's only relatively recently that their status as a collector's car has become recognised. A few years back I could have picked up a split window bus for peanuts. What are they worth now?
Sax’n di, a great and secret place of the glorious past of the air-cooled Volkswagen automobiles. In this forest technology and nature are captured in the most wonderful way. One can only guess the stories of the individual vehicles, both large and small. These cars have gone through many thousands of miles on every imaginable road and road. Volkswagen automobiles are now facing a new life of transience .... we humans too inevitably walk towards transience hour by hour, day by day ....... Greetings from Bavaria to all viewers and subscribers of this RU-vid Channel. 👍
I worked at a VW dealership, mostly sales and management, 1974-1982. It's so sad to see these cars like this although I have no interest in buy or restoring one. I remember the Scirocco so well; we couldn't get enough of those to sell. Makes me wonder why people do this?
That used to be an active VW junkyard/restoration service - I visited there back in the ‘80’s. I used to love just walking around the place and drooling. Owner always seemed more interested in keeping everything for himself rather than selling anything - and I know why!
Tired of seeing all the negative comments of what a waste. Why not commend a person for his passion. This could have been a lifetime of collecting and then time catches up to your body and abilities.
@Hello Newman Far as I know it's still there. "Blanchard Auto Salvage" in Wilton. If I remember right, it was in the far back right, but the place is HUGE. It used to be a walk in but now they're pretty strict about no one going in the yard. Maybe you can work the old lady that runs the place a lil bit :D
People watching this video are thinking in terms of current VW values - but these VWs were already beat up rust buckets when acquired for free or scrap metal value. Vintage VWs stored like that in an East Coast woods means that other than a few bits that this collection is really just scrap metal. There are many reasons for current VW values, the most basic is a relatively low survival rate - good thing they made millions of them!
Not too much left to save except for some donor metal, bumpers and fiberglass Westy tops. That one blue/white standard bus looked ok up top but I bet the frame rails are gone. Wish I could go in there and load up some semis worth of parts and pull it out West. I'm sure somebody needs that stuff. I visited a similar yard about 15 years ago - owner eventually handed the property over to the highway dept and all got crushed.
I've only once in my life seen something like this, and that was in backwoods new brunswick about 20 minutes north of Moncton on hwy 126 New Brunswick there used to be an old garage named lutz garage . I swear I had to look twice in your video to figure out if I had time warped back to the 80's when i used to go there to get rabbit parts. I remember a karmann ghia he had for sale that was the same cream colour as the one in this video.I went back in that area around 2005 and again in 2011 but never since and I didnt have a way of seeing if it was still there.
Where is this ? Has to be in PA somewhere or maybe Jersey...but most of the inspection stickers on the windshields are from PA. I could spend days there with nothing more then water, my bus, and a tool box :)
This place was old customer/parts cars, but remember only a couple years ago most of these VWs really weren’t worth much. Also selling cars without Titles usually take about a 30% hit
@@etmracing ... in some states you don't need a title for anything over 10 years old. (Ct is one of them) Also a good chance that all of the cars were a freebie. IOW, come and get it. (take the eye sore out of my driveway) The flip side of that was many older folks wanted a dollar just to make the sale legal. I bought my first few cars that way.
This is why I didn't invest in land in the '90's. I saw I had a problem and more space would lead to more VW's. But still. The prices back then were just so cheap!
Donde esta localizado esta joyeria de Volswagen, es una pena ver todo esto, que cualquier coleccionista se volveria loco de ver esta muestra !!! Graciasx comoartirlo !!
where is this place would love to explore . im a true vw nut have 70 bug/ sad to see this is just sitting here with many parts to give to other projects.
Most cars of this age were crushed years ago. At least some of these will get a chance to be restored or give up parts. Rusting away isn't such a waste as crushing and melting down for bean tins. It's this guy's stuff he can do what he wants with it!
Get the spilt singlecab & what’s left of the 23 window Samba, maybe the deluxe too. Leave the rest. Check the Porsche to see if it’s the 914-6 cylinder, worth having too.
