Cook to approximately 5-10 degrees below recommended then let it rest. Also, add the garlic last and only until you smell it. I am very happy to see a young man cook and eat his quarry. Great video

I shot a great many pheasants around Great Falls, Montana back in the 60's, houses have been put where they used to live now.

I remember walking to the bus stop and seeing pheasant bitd 1990s. Haven't seen any since 2005ish. I hear coyote packs calling back and forth. From the mitten state.

Cooking is never perfect, so the need to practice is always present........................................................kill and cook again until perfect! 😋 Every weekend my dad would make the most amazing pancakes and mom would always say, "It's very good George, but it still needs work. I have only had pheasant one time. We cooked it in the oven like a turkey with stuffing. I think the stuffing may have kept it from drying out too much. It was excellent and yes, we bit into a few lead shots but we just spit them out and kept eating. Really diggn' your videos. I'm not hunting much now days. I'm getting too old to stomp around in the woods and fields but I'm really into crappie fishing here in Northeast Oklahoma. I live in Tulsa and have property on Lake Tenkiller but I fish all over the area. Keep up the videos, you're doing great!

Best part of South Dakota is you can get in the car and go for a ride come home with a limit. Cream of mushrooms soup and put it in the oven.

Very cool guy's, I grew up in the mid west hunting pheasants and rabbits. Very few pheasants in MI anymore due to farming practices and varmints. Have been to SD a couple times and had a blast. Wintering in AZ now, so that California hunt is looking mighty temping! Thanks for the awesome video!

I grew up with in plainview tx. My dad owned a ranch/farm outside Dickens Tx. We hunted birds there. A pro tip for doves.. once downed, wrench the head off, put it on its back, spread the wings out, put a foot on each, grab the feet and pull. The breast comes out perfectly. No clean required. Soak in 7 up overnight, cook and eat. It’s amazing.

i'm old raised in central Ohio in the late 50s. We had rabbits and pheasants galore. Now we have deer and a very few pheasants. Farming changed and we lost the cover for pheasants.

Senior, you and your crew should make the trek up here to Saskatchewan, Canada and go for some of our world record white-tailed deer. There are several outfitters you can contact if interested. Plus, direct flights from Vegas to Regina or Saskatoon. 😃

One of the doctors I used to work with would go dove hunting down on the Texas border and he would shoot a .410, said the shells weren't really any cheaper than any of the bigger ones but you could shoot it all day long and your shoulder and arm would never get tired. 👍🏻

First pheasant I ever got was when I was 8 with a BB gun! I grew up in Aromas, Ca. There are rolling hills and dry grass for miles. I was just walking around with my BB gun on my shoulder when I heard a sound in the grass ahead. Mind you, the grass was as tall as I was. I started to do the army crawl with my BB gun across my arms when I came to a small clearing in the grass. There was this big ol' bird dancing around. I didn't even know what it was, but I was going to bag it! I moved as slow as I could to get ready and then POP! I brained him. Grabbed it by the feet and brought it home. Feathers were dragging along the ground. My dad was on the porch having a beer when I walked up. He was amazed and said "We're eating good tonight!"

Used to hunt pheasant like that in central Iowa in the 70’s and 80’s. We hunted slews and picked corn fields. Loved the video. We used to clean them up then soak them in salt water. This would normally work out all the bb’s. Then throw the whole bird in the crock pot with a bunch of seasonings and herbs. Once cooked pull it out, it’ll fall off the bone. Mayo on white beard and eat like pulled pork. It’s outstanding. Keep up the good work.

Loved the hunt video! If the breast meat is a bit dry, Cool it in the fridge overnight, slice it thin, smother with cranberry sauce and make sandwiches. Guaranteed to be a winner.

You guys got some beautiful birds we used to have an abundance here in Central Illinois but I don't know where they went. We have a pheasant hatchery just outside of town I guess people buy them to release.
