i'm using a 13 year old antec cube case that i've hollowed out and customized, and removed the side panels. it's still the same volume as current ITX cases..... but it takes an mATX board. I love the little thing. fits any gpu, and modern SFF PSU was able to, even better, replace the existing custom L-shaped PSU that came with it originally.

When using dual stack coolers in an open bench, place the fans in push configuration on both sides i.e. both fans blowing in. This will make sure that both fun stacks get fresh air and the hot air would actually disperse automatically due to convection and turbulence. Try it. You should get 2-5° degree improvement.

The most I use computers is for building cnc machines, where right next to it is a lot of inverters. So emv is the thing you want for such systems, fully closed and grounded. For this purpose I use most likely the hp600 case, it's a massive monster of faraday cage.

it's not new, but the Silverstone RVZ-03 is a sweet mini-ITX case that fits full length GPU's and an AIO! I built mine with an r7 2700x and a Vega 64.

When I built my first S-100 bus (IEEE-696 standard) PC system (the original Altair 8800 in 1975), and wire wrapped my own, custom I/O board - my cat chewed through the ribbon cables connecting to my terminal device several times until I made a custom lid for the case. I wonder if you have a cat, if it would be similarly tempted to chew on the cables in your open case? I also thought that one of the purposes of an enclosed metal case was for RF shielding, which used to be a big problem back when PC's had much slower (2 to 4MHZ) clock speeds (you couldn't operate a TV or radio anywhere near it, which the FCC didn't like) - but maybe that's not much of an issue anymore?.

watercooling wouldnt be that bad if you reaaaly want too, I can imagine an aio on the back with a few extended thingys to push the radiator of the steel for space for te air and to act as screw wholes

its easier to dust it off since theres no enclosure that would trap the dust when you blow it out with compressed air.. you can just have a compressed air can near your desk and just spray it off a bit on the fly everytime you turn on your pc and not wait for dust to accumulate..

The only reason I will not be interested. The temps though. I hope we get open air cases with an easy way to close it off when not in use. Around $70, I do not mind if it is glass or plastic.

I just built a hotel computer from a GEEK A50. neat case that's a fraction of the price of the others. I do want to look at having some more breathable side panels made though.

definitely overpriced..... by a large margin. no way bending and cutting steel ends up costing so much (once you got your production line/machines setup)

>once you got production line That's where you went wrong, as there's no production line as there's simply not enough demand to invest into mass-producing them. So it's pretty much done in small batches semi-manualy by a 3rd party workshop. But you probably could get it made for you at local metal workshop for somewhat cheaper, sure.

@@niter43 Well depending on how much the metal used costs. IF they are still paying off the cost of the needed machines to make it. And of course mark up to be able to pay the employees who make them + the building costs needed to house and keep up to code the building they use to make the cases. Buying 1 big thick sheet of metal is cheaper than many smaller sheets of the same metal so most companies that work with metal buy longer sheets of the correct thickness instead of smaller sheets of metal. Doing this makes the up front cost higher but if they are able to get use of most if not all of it then the cost reduction is worth it. The person or people who paint it are also needing tools that will need a replenishment of what they use. Most of the cost is probably in consumables. Metal is not cheap. Thick metal costs more then thin metal. Metal paint that will not chip when heating up past 90C then cooling back down to 0C soon after is also not cheap. Then you have the cost of getting both black and white paint.

@@niter43 maybe..... but i know a little bit about workshops and have some familiarity with working metal. The trickiest part would be to make those bends because of the thickness of that steel, but the rest is easy and straight forward with even the most rudimentary workshop. Anyhow, sure, as a limited run, niche supply, the artisan is entitled to make a "custom" production/art fee. why not.

The thickness of that metal is causing each of the additional steps to be more troublesome than standard paper then galvy 1/16" sheet metal . It's nice but not for the empty pocket crowd . I'd like one in regular atx . Keep us posted for when they bring there site back up .

Instead of removing the PSU sticker, you could put Packing Tape (or some easier-to-remove tape) over the sticker first, then a wide black tape on top of that to hide it. Then, if you need to sell it (or know the specs later), you can easily remove it without tearing the sticker.

I love it! A due to the fact I’m a DIY kind of tech and have a shop and equipment I’m going to make my own. I will come up with my own design of course but I really love the layout. I’m sure I can build one for a lot less money. Now about the elephant in the room. Now that you have settled in you must try a take care of yourself. Go to a local gym and get in shape. Take care of your family and take of yourself and I will see you in the next video

raijintek metis could also handle a triple slot, but it's kinda hot. Needed a d14 to ceep my 3700x in idle silent. But it is water and dust protectet and also ''only'' 260 mm high. The only refers to the dan case, that one is VERY beautiful and smaller. Bute you would need to make a custom side window with a b450i Auros, dominator ram and a nhl9 and of cours custom cablemod carbon cables. This would be a dream build, when it wouldn't be noisy as hell!! And I need my cores so a ryzen 3 wouldn't work.. what a shame..

I still can’t believe someone wants that, I simply never want to have it because my lovely components would be so dirty and dusty from within the second day and even with a good dyson this wouldn’t be cleanable after a few month. So the design could be as pretty as it wants if it’s not cleanable in the corners

I have been very pleased with the Lazer3D LZ7 case I used for my recent(last October) build. That one took a little while to ship to me but it arrived when promised and the delivery time was clearly disclosed when I ordered so it was fine. No water cooling in that case either but my temps are only slightly warmer than they were before I put the computer in a case. If I had seen this case before building, I might have chosen it. Because you can use a standard GPU rather than an ITX/mini GPU, it probably would have saved me enough on the GPU price to cover the difference in cost of this case and the LZ7 case.

That 24 pin ATX cable doesn't look like it's pushed all the way in. Great open air Mini-ATX build. Do not remove the sticker from the PSU, can't you order a custom plate with the logo of your channel and put it there with double sided tape?

@@joeyverliesharen i know that. But the point is not if it is a fair price on the production side but if it is worth it for the consumer. And in my opinion it is not. Especially considering that you really gonna spend ages cleaning if you want it to actually look good. Dust filters are not just decoration.
