When men blamed single mothers for getting pregnant, we listened! When men blamed us for being in an abusive situation and told us to 'pick better men', we listened! Now women are leaving these men alone! Now they complain that they are lonely and that women are not having children anymore. The disconnect is real!

@@Visitor145 Sir/ma'am, I've never been married and since I'm already 33 and have hit 'the wall' according to these 'men' I'll remain a cat lady until I die! Idk what kind of marriages you've seen but I was raised as a very conservative Christian woman from a third world country. I can do it all for any man with a baby on my hip. I know because I did this as a child and teen helping my mom with my sisters while my stepdad lived in the home and only worked (so did my mom btw). ALL THAT to say men have been molesting their children, cheating on their wives and having sexual side quests because they created a society where women had no other option but to put up with it or die penniless or worse risk the social shame of being a single mom. Just because the marriage doesn't fall apart doesn't mean shit isn't happening behind closed doors. Our grandmothers stayed through it all, some of our mothers got divorced and still had to chase down the man for child support. My generation is not even bothering with all the things we've seen. Men are filled with lust for women and zero respect.

There's a difference though. Each part of the body requires immense understanding past the surface. But in a few hours you can learn a lot about most subjects let alone if you've studied how they intertwine for 20-30 years. The funny thing about this is when you study topics that intersect, you get greater understanding of the original topic and vice versa. This is why phycology is a joke without a base layer understanding of behavioral biology. Behaviors > thoughts.

@whenpigsfly3271
@whenpigsfly3271 Год назад
@Kyla Armstrong-Benjamin - I don't understand how you conclude it's "ridiculous af." Divorce rates were very low for those people. What these successful marriages tell you is that arranged marriage works, female virginity has value in terms of bonding, and the grandparents' participation in the marriage has its own value. Contrast to marriages today: most women don't marry until around 30. Most marriages fail. Most women are promiscuous for the first 10 years of their adult lives. Women base compatibility on arousal. They call it "vibes." Pregnancies at 30+ are fraught with problems. Children raised by single mothers are far more inclined to use drugs, experience severe depression and complex trauma, and enter prison. You may want to reconsider your conclusion based on the facts.

The part about men being ashamed of being the victims of domestic violence really hits home for me, I'm an attorney who handles a lot of DV matters and ide say 95% of the time male victims I've worked with have ended up voluntarily dismissing their cases, even when they have solid evidence of abuse. Some have even outright just told me that was their reasoning despite believing the abuse would likely continue.

@@sista363 Female abusers are often a lot more subtle in their abuse, though, as it's usually a lot more psychological and less physical. Women tend to abuse through gaslighting and other forms of manipulation, which typically results in her mistreating and disrespecting her man while convincing him and their mutual friends that he is the problem. Long term, this can result in major depression and trauma and even questioning your own sanity. But good luck getting anyone to take you seriously. While feminists keep arguing that men are privileged, it's really women who are privileged, as men's rights, men's suffering and men's issues in general are almost always ignored and even ridiculed.
@Ukraineaissance2014
@Ukraineaissance2014 2 года назад
@@OutOfTheBoxThinker yes this is a common one, I've experienced it and most of my friends have, when a woman treats their partner like shit, flirts with people in front of them, shows them direspect, goes along with other men messaging them, tells their friend every private detail etc. When their partner eventually says they dont like this they are informed by her that they are 'controlling and abusive', trying to control what they do. And when this drama gets out, everybody will side with her because we've been told we have to unquestioningly. Of course though most domestic abuse is committed by men and we need to sort our issues out as well. Particularly men pulling the mental health card to excuse actually abusive and controlling behaviour. Mens issues are ignored because of the same sexist mindset that women suffer from as well, I.e women have to be always feminine and weak, and men cannot show weakness, depression, emotions, have supposedly feminine interests or admit loneliness. They are kept from their families by courts because they have the sexist belief women are there for family work. Both sexes are suffering and it shouldnt be a men Vs women thing.

I recently casually mentioned to a guy I know who's part of the manosphere that I'm ace. He told me that wasn't a real thing and that I must just be so bad at attracting women that I'm in denial about wanting them - he used the term "sour grapes". Ironically, I got way better at being around women when I came out to myself as ace, because prior to that point I saw myself as straight and (stupidly) had it in my head that being single was a failure of some sort and I tended to approach all women as potential partners. It's hard to tell without seeing myself from the outside, but chances are I was being very creepy. Realizing I honestly have no interest in dating people (outside a misguided and stupid attempt at comforming to social norms) meant I started treating women as regular humans, and - shock and awe - that made them way more willing to be friends with me, which I'm more than happy with because friendship is awesome. Acting the way the manosphere would have me act was actively pushing women away from me - I know, shocking.

What's hilarious is that in hunger gatherer communities, research shows that women were hunting almost as much as men. Both opportunitisxlt as well as actively. And 80% of food came from gathering, meat was a rarity which is why dogs became omnivores because meat wasn't always available. (Also fun fact! It's been recently found that it was thanks to women dogs were domesticated! As men only treated them as livestock to help with hunting, but women treated them as trusted companions and as part of the family. So much so they would even feed abandoned pups with their own body if said woman has a baby herself ! Very cool!) And the defining role they talk about is that women stay home and men work only really existed in the 50s, for most of history women have always worked even if they were never paid for it. They have always been a part of the work force. I have no idea why the manosphere insists on the 50s ideal because not only were women having to use drugs (mummy's little helper) to keep up with the workload of constantly popping out babies and also treating her husband as if he were a child. There's a reason this dynamic didn't last long. And why single and childless women are the happiest demographic of all people. Men have only ever benefited marriage. It was guaranteed they were allowed to reproduce because women didn't get to choose who they were with and it also meant that men got a free mummy bangmaid that had to obey him no matter what. It was created to benefit men and that still rings extremely true today. Even if a woman outearns her husband, he will still expect her to maintain all the responsibilities and child rearing as a stay at home mother. Which is why studies show that when a woman gets married, her leisure time is drastically decreased or gone entirely while mens only increases because she's now taking care of things he did when he was alone. There's a reason why the happiest demographic of men are married, but the most miserable are married women and single men.

PAST "MOST SINGLE MOTHERS" =/= PRESENT "MOST SINGLE MOTHERS" Now, most women don't leave because of "bad mens", but just because of "not good enough men". And if they are not good enough, while they never get a better man after that ? Any woman leaving her "not good enough" man but finding no better men, only have one person to blame : herself, not men. You tried to get better than you deserve, at the cost of destroying your famility. Shame on you. Women of the past >> women of the present. With feminism, ungrattefullness is not diseapering, it's just changed side. "Most present women = most past men" is what modern feminism is pushing for. Why MOST (not all) single mothers are bad according to manosphere ? If you choose a man serious enough to having kids with you, why cant' you keep long enough for your kids to even get more than 2 years old, what the fuck are you doing ? Men need to wait a women to choose them, and even if they go seriously about it, they get thrown out because the princes want to try again to get her prince after getting her kids. "First marriage for kids and money, and then go back to the street to try again to get my prince". Once a woman get too entitled and try to get better than she what she deserve, she call out men to take HER responsability to leave the "boring" relationship. What single mothers does often, is living with a man, while he can't tell anything to her kids or ask anything from her, meaning they share a house and life, but only according to her own rules. That's not being equal at all. Whatever is the behavior of the kids, the women will put the rebellious toxic kids on a piedestal while the men need to be hers kids servant. How can you defend that kind of Single-mother behavior ? I am just curious. In your mother age, where could you find bunch of single mother with 1-2 years kid ? Only widow or some unluncky women could be like that. Now, women like that are the norm. Entitlement is key here. Ordinary men and ordinary life isn't enough for ordinary women. 80% of women, fighting for 20 to 5% of the top men in online dating. Majority of women (don't remember the numbers this time) on tinder ARE NOT SINGLE. Tell me how those bunch of single mothers appearing from nowhere have nothing to do with this, all telling "my man is boring" (= not good enough for me). Now, women are saying in the feminosphere "First mariage is for money, second is for love". How can women say that without any shame in feminosphere, but women keep defending them ? Unbelievable. Most break-up are done by women, they decide they deserve better while the father get thrown out while they keep the house, money, and kids. Kids are called "burden" during relationship, while single mothers say "they are my world". Kids are only called burden by women when they share them, to get slave-pity, but as soon they break-up they become "their world" to get courage-praise. That's how work modern womens : change everyone world view as long it suits your need. Call kids burden to blame men, then call them their world to get praised (and justify that mens accept being less important than everyone else, even the dog/cat). How many women just want to get "a better man and dad", when herself and her kids already have one ? "I am bored, let's throw him out and take all his money, it's time to find real love!". Don't compare them to your mother. Put her in history books and teach modern women what a real hero is : your mother-like, not them-like. The pride of martyr, is the pride to fight against suffering like your mother, not the pride to suffer because you screw your life but at least people won't blame you for destroying your family and mental health of your kids, because you don't care about anything except yourself and "your feelings". When a modern feminist talk about feelings, it means she stop caring about reality. Stop saying modern women are as glorious as past women, when they are just the most entitled ever. If a man have a bad life, is fault. If a woman has a bad life, his fault not her ! Women say "i need no men", their hapiness is the result of only their own work, but they get a man it's his fault if anything goes wrong in her life. Entitlement is real. But most feminists and single mother of today, are "garbage" (= self-entitled person, choosing random dude as dad of their kids, or leaving for selfish reason with zero tough about their kids outside of herself). Take a man, get YOUR kids (your kids only have one parent at birth), throw out the man and try to level-up your man while enjoying your ex money without asking why men should all be happy to raise other mens kids while being put last.

@@emilyh7912 I haven’t though I just read a synopsis. To be honest this sounds like a book of evolutionary psychology wrapped in an anthropology wrapper. It appears to make some really sweeping pronouncements about human sexuality in antiquity without any real evidence. It’s not wrong about mobile hunting and gathering in the pre-agricultural world, but I don’t know how the authors can be so sure about sexual practice in those societies. To be quite honest this is the same sort of evidence guys like Jordan Peterson use to back up their ideas - that is to say there is no evidence one way or the other. It is entirely possible ancient HGs, in many cases, had bonobo-like sexual networks or whatever - but we do not have direct evidence for that - the same way we do not have any evidence that they would have preferred monogamous relationships. Social scientists love to use archaeology to bolster their claims about contemporary human nature but rarely adopt the humility that every archaeologist has about what the data can and cannot tell us. Here's a perhaps interesting observation from someone who has explored the cultural developments of the 20th century quite a bit: In the supposedly more monogamous period of the 50s and earlier that these guys mythologise, cheating was actually MORE common, and MORE acceptable. Like, songs and films and whatnot outright glamorising cheating were all over the place. This was precisely because women were financially reliant on their husbands, so if those husbands cheated on them, they just had to take it. They didn't have the option of walking out -- unless they had themselves been cheating, which they may have done simply so they'd have a plan B in case their spouse left them for another woman. It's only when women began entering the workforce and gained financial independence that they could demand fidelity, and the social acceptance of cheating began to quickly diminish. There was a really sharp change in how cheating was portrayed in popular culture in the 70s, which very neatly correlated with women's lib.

Funny you say that. Since women are 3/4ths of the ones initiating the filing of divorce and then have overwhelming advantage in family court and not only that but a financial incentive and a living weapon to use against the man they divorce by withholding visitation or denying it. I was raised by a single mother who voluntarily left her marriage even though by her own admission my father never laid a hand on her and was providing. Her excuse was she was "emotionally unsatisfied". Fuck the kid who now has to grow up and reap the consequences, right? Nothing about the rest of the story turned out "good". By sheer luck of genetics/environment/resilience I didn't turn out to be something worse.

@@RU-vidStyleChannel They also think single fathers do a better job of raising children than single mothers. But children brought up in a home of strife with two parents constantly fighting don't do well at all which is why so many parents get divorced. What about families where one parent had died and the other parent still living? That was very common at one time in the 19th century and early to mid 20th century because of men being killed in wars and women dying in childbirth. If it was the father who survived and he was earning a lot of money he could hire a nanny to look after the children but many widowed parents struggled on alone. Nobody went on about how those families were dysfunctional and their children would turn to crime. If anything it was poverty that had a direct causation with crime.

When I was first sober I got into pick up artistry, because I needed to build who I was, I was 20 or 21, and didn't know how to be social, I had just locked myself away and shot drugs for the past 3 years and then been in and out of rehab. I got involved with RSD in my hometown of Miami, which had a great group. I watched so many very very insecure men get really really good at conversation and talking to people. We did value picking up women but in reality I only ever had 1 one night stand, and would always end up trying to start relationships with these girls, seeing them multiple times, trying to "juggle" 5 or 6 girls at a time and replacing one if one ghosted me or i decided to ghost one, just really treating women half like objects, and half desperately wanting a REAL loving connection and commitment, and realized quickly I wasn't happy hooking up and wanted love and commitment. That said, I did benefit and watched other guys benefit in social skills and business acumen, so there is something to be gained from the exercises of going out and having to just talk to hundreds of people, men or women, to break down self consciousness. But one of the defining moments that showed me it was empty and miserable to go out and try sleeping with all these girls was that the leader of the group, a photographer who would do "photoshoots" for girls instagrams as an excuse to get with them, while in a committed relationship with a woman he had convinced to have a one-sided open relationship, as in only HE could sleep with multiple other people a week, and she could MAYBE join him for a threesome though when I met her she said it made her super uncomfortable. When he found out I was ADHD, he wanted to buy my medication, and was in my car snorting it while I was trying to open up to him about how I wished I could "pull" girls like him. He turned to me and solemnly said "Dude, you don't want to be me. I'm fucking miserable." It took months to figure out what that meant. He was trying with drugs, cheating, manipulation of his girlfriend, sexual conquests to fill a hole that he was fully aware of but had no way to truly fix. Again, the EARLY stuff can help insecure people learn to be more social and outgoing, but from there it just becomes depraved emptiness and misery. I can only imagine where it could've gone from there onward. Happy I realized quickly enough it wasn't what made me happy.

I have a somewhat similar story. 22 got my first internet heart break, wanted to know how women work and spent a year reading everything I could find about pick up artistry. Started testing it out, which kept building my confidence. Figured out a sure fire way to get a woman turned on. Kept testing it. Had married women rub themselves on me at dinner table while their husband was behind flower arrangements, a woman on a date with another guy to the restaurant bathroom etc.. Got traumatized by the depravity. Wanted to know what it's like to really be with someone so got a girlfriend using the same tricks. It didn't really work out so after 2 years broke up. Got out of the scene completely and was fairly happy alone for a few years, all things considered. Getting into it benefitted me a lot in being more social, confident etc. but also made me despise modern culture and both men and women in it, and possibly later was the foundation for me getting PTSD.

Self-worth issues hit all humans, regardless of what genitals they happened to be born with. It can be a vicious cycle for many, though, as worse self-esteem leads people to be desperate, and desperation is generally unattractive (again, regardless of what gender one is). Flip 22 coins (each representing a person) five times each, where heads is "success" in some thing (such as dating). Odds are, one of those 22 coins will come up tails every single time, while one will come up heads every single time. And that's for 50-50 odds! For 1 in 10 odds, in a group of 20 individuals, you could "flip" *32 times in a row* , and odds are better than not that one of those 20 will strike out *every time in a row* . That's just the nature of random events - some people can just be unlucky, and that sucks. But the two things that one can do is, (A) increase the odds, and (B) increase the number of "coin flips". With (B), that just means get out and meet more people. In the sort of context that increase the odds of meeting the sort of people you're likely to match well with. With regards to (A), that's situation-dependent, but the absolute worst thing you can do is be perceived as someone who thinks of women as "females", as some other species, for which one is supposed to play some "game" learned online to manipulate them into dating you. Everyone is a human. Different people have different things that they're attracted to - which are correlated with, but not at all completely defined by gender - but just treat people as people, enter situations where you'll meet lots of people, and things will work out fine for you. Because however poorly you may think of yourself, I guarantee you, there are lots of people out there who, getting to know you, will strongly disagree with you in this regard. As anyone who's ever been in a relationship with someone who had a poor self image (a VERY common thing) can attest. Look inside yourself. Are you a good person, or at least try to be one? Then there's no problem, and you're going to be just fine. :) Take care, Miser :)

Any kind of "X owns Y" videos are painful to me and should be avoided, even those that support your POV. They almost always consist of one person who's done a whole lot of rehearsal and prep work blindsiding another person who's totally unprepared in a spontaneous encounter, and proceeding to dominate them by barraging them with stats and controversial statements, talking over them, cutting them off and motoring through talking points. Almost anybody caught in that situation is going to look or say something stupid, incoherent or ignorant. And often what happens is if the confronted person even hints at saying something that really does knock a chink in the presenter's argument, you can see the mask slip, the presenter gets stressed and the cutting off, talking over etc increases. In well-edited videos you rarely get the chance to see moments like that; they more often appear in things like long-form podcasts, but even then only if the host is honest enough to upload the whole exchange and not cut out the parts they disagree with. Point being you're never going to see any honesty in these vids and you'll rarely learn anything. Watching ownage just satisfies that part of the brain that likes to know it's right and is happy to see the other side kicked into the dirt. It would be better if everyone watched well-considered, long-form debates where all parties came prepared, armed with all the research and didn't just jump each other with aggression, but no video titled "Feminist civilly debates anti-feminist for three hours, disagree on some things but agree on others, concede to each other's points sometimes and end up with more knowledge and a generally respectful understanding for each other's POV" is going to get many views.

@@joshuanathanael2123 firstly, it’s a very common reaction to sweep SA under the rug, so much so that i did it to myself. i downplayed what happened to me and didn’t put any blame on the guys who did it. part of me wanted to believe it was my fault because, if it happened because of something i did wrong, surely that means i could do something differently to avoid it in the future. that’s why victim-blaming happens; it’s comforting to imagine that SA can be avoided if you just wear the right clothes or act the right way. secondly, i don’t think the comparison is unjustified. my emotional health was in shambles after the SA, my trust in people was ruined, and i don’t think i’ll ever be the same, even after therapy has helped me greatly. my life was permanently changed on someone else’s whim. i wish i could trust strangers the same way i used to. now i’m a much more fearful and distrusting person, and i can never get back the safety i used to feel in my body. before i did any healing, i was terrified of being in the same room as a man, which is the same feeling that some men claim to have when in the same room as a woman because “well she might accuse me of SA.” i thought that was an interesting comparison. similarly, since many people think SA is the victim’s fault, i could easily be shunned for what i went through just the same as someone falsely accused could be shunned for what people think they did. i’m not sure what the point of your comment was exactly, so maybe i’ve made an error in my reply. i just find a strange irony in seeing some men react to the me too movement by talking about fears that are VERY familiar to me from the other side of this whole thing (fear of being alone with someone a different gender, fear of someone destroying your life at random, fear of judgement, etc).

I was a bit of an incel as a teenager. Completely bought into the stereotypes about what kinda guys girls like. I'd point to times that girls made fun of me for my hobbies (gaming, reading fantasy/horror, etc.) without realizing that these girls were often themselves victims of a culture that actively discourages them from engaging in hobbies considered unfeminine. Then I met my late wife, literally on a Silent Hill fan forum. We were together for 11 years. I've attempted dating twice since she passed, but have given up because I'm disabled (partly due to childhood stuff, partly due to being my wife's 24/7 caregiver, as she had MS.) I can only be told I'm worthless, not a real man and that I should self delete so many times. Again, I don't feel anger towards the women saying these hurtful things to me. Just like when I was a kid, I think they're just themselves victims of societal brainwashing on what it "means to be a man." I did have one girlfriend a few years ago, but she was physically, emotionally and sexually abusive towards me. I could go in depth on the messed up reaction I've received from people I've tried to talk to about that experience, but again I think they're just unwittingly parroting toxic ideals that have been put in their head. (For example, I've been told that the sexual abuse I experienced doesn't count because "men always want it.") I've given up on the idea of dating. I sometimes joke that I'm an incel without the misogyny, a diet incel if you will. Anyway, I rambled enough. Good video.

In case some young, unhappy guy is in the comments: I used to feel bad about myself, and was close to blaming women for my seeming inability to date them. Then I found out that in order to save myself I had to nurture empathy and responsibility for myself. I started engaging in the things I found most important in the world, ethics, and started doing activism for animal rights and study philosophy. It was extremely rewarding and healing to care for and be strong for something more than myself. (It's also the only way to self-realize). And lo and behold, the sweetest, most lovely woman became my collegue in a vegan buisness we both started to work in. My mind wasn't even there for dating or anything. We just spoke a lot about philosophy, veganism and psychology, and fell for each other gradually. Based on mutual respect and friendship. I'm shorter than her (5'6), have a sexual developmental disorder from birth (tmi) and am a few years younger than her. I'm also more prone to tearing up, and more afraid and neurotic in general. It literally doesn't matter. There is no specific way you NEED to be to be loved. You only need to be emotionally mature and empathic. It all fell into place when I stopped obsessing over how I came across, or my life revolving around only me. It fell into place because I started to accept myself, took full responsibility for my trauma, started to engage myself in doing good and meaningful things, being entirely unconcerned with how masculine I came across. Your personality and appeal isn't your appearance or aesthetics (aka appearing masculine) - it's your emotional maturity.

@@vanguard6937 No. It's like the difference between chivalry and good manners. Should you hold doors open for women? Yes, because it's good manners, not because women are so weak they need your help with doors. You should hold doors open for everyone. It's a nice thing to do. Likewise, being responsible for yourself is a good thing to do. It's good for men. It's good for women. It's good for everyone. Giving advice to men about how to be responsible for themselves and become better partners is fine. No one has an issue with that. But the "manosphere" puts it into a context that places men's needs above women's needs with an emphasis on what women aren't providing men that men deserve and why men need to become more masculine to deserve it. That's toxic.

Exactly. "It gets better." That's all we need to be willing to believe, and not just for relationships, but for everything in life, really. Just wanted to add that I think one reason why the grift and sexism "work" so well, compared to advice like yours here, is when the person believes that they're having to do more work while others reap rewards effortlessly. Like, rather than realizing that this is a super normal experience for most teens, they're 100% certain that their bodies/circumstances are flawed and the other binary gender has it easier, so why should they have to do "extra" work, like develop some more emotional maturity and resilience? In this culture, we're raised with such ridiculously broken gender stereotypes, and from a young age, it's constantly implied that appearing attractive and garnering loads of attention (yes, even for femmes!) is a life-or-death situation. Realistically, the dating advice/PUA/sexism grift ought to be seen as the BLUE pill, not the red pill, because it's exactly what you'd expect based on the expectations that we raise all young people with. The true red pill / exit from the matrix is much more like your story, which leads to realizing that masculinity/femininity is mostly scarcity-minded nonsense invented to take our money and keep us too scared to build empathy for anyone.

"we should help straight white men" We definitely should. Glad that you said this. I was big into Neo Nazism, blaming foreigners, women, Jews, etc. for more than a decade. Years before the Alt Right even became a thing. I'm 30+ and got into this stuff around the mid 2000s. Name the website, I probably was there, name the right wing gurus, I probably read them, etc. I was alone, depressed, dissatisfied, and all this stuff was like Opium to me, felt like the only community that understood me. But, well, I am actually not a bad guy. I'm white, German, straight, etc, but as weird as it sounds for all this time I was engaged in that stuff I thought I was doing the right thing and everyone else was just acting in bad faith or out of insanity, misinformation, etc. The only thing I will say is that it can be almost impossible to help those guys. I eventually figured it out myself that I was on the wrong path, but it was a slow and long process. And painful too, felt absolutely devastated by regret so often, almost to the point where I just wanted to end it all. Sure reading certain things, interacting with other people helped and played a role in it, but I wouldn't say that I ever got any help. Yeah, this sounds like "I'm a real man, I don't need help from anyone" crap, but it is, for better or worse, the psyche of a lot of men. I eventually decided to do therapy tho, but it was only roughly around two or three years after I got out off the Neo Nazi/Manosphere rabbit hole. I couldn't bring myself to do it before. So I don't know how effective any help can be. But I still think it is good to still have some empathy left, even if these guys believe in destructive ideologies and act like pure a.holes. In the end those guys are victim of the system too. People usually don't just decide to be evil for the sake of being evil. I just hope that as the flaws of the current system become more obvious, more impactful to anyone's life more and more of those guys will see that they've been fooled. Won't be fun, tho. Expect more mental health issue with straight white men in the future.

Not just for the sake of the person who claims they were raped (Even if that is the most important factor here), but honestly, being falsely outed as a rapist can be extremely damaging to any future the person may have. In my late teens, I was quite what a lot of these Manosphere types suggest a "perfect alpha male" should be. I was tall, had a carved jaw and used to lift weights so I was fairly athletic and fit. But I was never a magnet for women. Why? Turns out that people, humans in general, don't want to be around people who aren't interesting or likeable. I could never figure out what made me not likeable, because all of the manosphere answers were BS, as I had the qualities that I was suppose to have according to them. Turns out that women didn't dislike me. Thanks to my autism, I have always had very weird and specific hobbies that it was hard for most people, including other men, to relate to me completely. It was just a matter of actually knowing people around me and finding someone who I would get along well with. Another big issue with the manosphere types is that their criteria for a partner is very shallow. They'll try to woo someone conventionally attractive, but get rejected, or discover that the conventionally attractive person is shallow/uninteresting/not-so-bright, and then form their opinions about women based on their limited experiences. They'll not even attempt to find someone who connects with them on a much deeper level as their first filter is "tiddies not big enough" or something.

this! I was always very weirded out that these people would complain about women being "boring and dumb" and then talk about women in only terms of attractiveness. I am pretty normal for a girl, have too much knowledge of niches, and a healthy mix of hobbies. When I first stumbled on to their takes, I didn't understand how these men went their whole lives without being near an interesting woman who isn't consumed by relationships or her looks or fame. Then I realized that they probably haven't been around normal people and have based their whole personality on a caricature of how women should act. They probably hit up some hot girl and when she rejected them, instead of being like "oh THIS person is kinda shallow" they just generalised the whole half of the planet.

I do love fashion and makeup and conform to the stereotypical standard of beauty, and I'm often approached or harassed by men who tell me I'm special because I'm "not like the other girls who go to this school, who they'd NEVER go for", meanwhile they clearly don't put effort into their appearance either, and then complain that they're single. It's so hypocritical!! Like it's fine you don't put effort into your appearance, but maybe try giving the girls who don't put effort into their appearance a chance!!!

I was mildly SA'd in college, and it took me years to recognize it as such even without the trauma which comes with more serious attacks (often compounded by other factors). In the meantime, I was actually interviewed for research and mistakenly said that I was a disabled person who had never been SA'd (my mind went straight to healthcare, which was not the basis of the question). Please, understand that I do not mean to center myself or compare my difficulties to yours; I just wanted to add that even my situation was difficult to recognize due to societal factors (everyone who saw it happen, in public, laughed it off).
@Kate-is5mz
@Kate-is5mz Год назад
@@Robstafarian I completely understand, I shared my experience to explain that point - SA is very complex and a type of traumatic experience that causes deep internal conflicts, such as guilt and shame... using my experience (and others like you who are willing to share) to describe how we can ONLY imagine how horrendous it has to be in the shoes of r**e and heavy SA victims. The amount of guilt, shame, and general brokenness must be astronomical. Victims blame themselves and feel deeply ashamed and ''filthy'' in a way, so they tend to hide it naturally - the consequences of that type of trauma go much, MUCH deeper than what was obviously assaulted with the physical act. Thank you for sharing, it sucks that such a disturbingly large number of people experiences things like these at least once in their life... + the societal pressure and blame on top of it is not a nice combination at all. :(

I'm curerntly reading a very interesting book about the advent of the housewife (Die Erfindung der Hausfrau by Evke Rulffes, not available in English) that states among several interesting things that throughout the middle ages and modern period most crafts- and tradespeople were actually teams of husband and wife, working and managing their business together. Only with the advent of out-of-home jobs for husbands (officials, clerks, managers, etc.) in the 19th century did the upper-middle class housewife, who's basically another (unpaid) domestic worker who has to beg the husband for housekeeping money and such, emerge. Also these upper-middle class housewifes had to work from home in secret to finance the livestyle required to keep their social standing. The housewife model was never economically viable. It is a myth. Women have always been in the workforce.

On "false" accusations of R/SA, it's also worth noting some of these are cases of incorrectly accusing the perpetrator, but still the R/SA occurred. The most famous being the Central Park 5 where the young men accused were innocent, and later exonerated, but the R still occurred. So in cases like that it can both be true that we need to be more careful about protecting men accused of R from false conviction (especially men of color) while it also being true that the crime happened and the woman didn't just make it up.

It is hard. The trick is making morons think women are cars or something and you just have to know how to operate them. As opposed to unique individuals. Before some dipshite tells me it's not hard, take a moment to think about how difficult it is to meet people in communities segregated from you, or meet new people generally. Women and men are generally segregated after college in terms of profession and hobbies. Most adult men also don't cultivate friend groups that easily after moving. So if you're in a new place, and you go to the designated opposite gender(?) meeting zone(almost always a very loud bar), you likely go alone and have a hard time. There is also no established etiquette anywhere else and if you try to play to the least common denominator(neurotic self diagnosed neurodivergent PTSD redditor), it is basically true that you can't ask women on dates most places you go for fear of making a woman theoretically uncomfortable in some way. So if people get all their information from online via other neurotic people and thus neurotic women, I can see how this bs might seem like an alternative.
