Your story makes me think that if you truly love someone but they have this one fatal flaw, instead of taking a chance on marriage, take a chance on serious talk and counseling and have her prove she's changed before you buy the ring. If you pick the right partner instead of just the hottest person you can find they will add not only companionship and care for when you're hurt/ill but they will contribute to your life. A good woman will either contribute financially or through caring for children or both. Both of those things will add a lot to your life. Was in college and then got married few days after graduating and been home since I got pregnant rather quick after marriage. I have witnessed a lot of people live together prior to marriage myself included, and I have seen it go both ways.
