Bible scholars who reject "Once Saved, Always Saved" cite Hebrews 10:26-31 as proof that salvation can be lost because of willful sin. Does the fiery indignation and worse punishment in Hebrews 10:26-31 refer to hell or a loss of eternal rewards? Ken Yates of the Grace Evangelical Society looks at Hebrews 10:26-31 and explains how this passage is about the loss of eternal rewards and not about the loss of salvation. Ken explains how the grace of God gives believers in Jesus, eternal life that can never be lost, and how the grace of God wants to reward believers who are faithful to Jesus.
"For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries. Anyone who has rejected Moses’ law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace? For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. And again, “The Lord will judge His people.” It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God." - Hebrews 10:26-31 (NKJV)

So good , Ken . Clears up all the non-sense of the "really smart" Scholars advancing the impossible notion of working for a Free Gift (John 3:16 & Ephesians 2:8-9) .

Oh my goodness, did you know that Paul was baptized, Acts chapter 9 vs. 18 Did you also know that Jesus Christ commands us to be baptized to be saved. Mark 16 vs 16. Amazing.

The bottom line is that ALL works based false gospel advocates will errantly interpret Hebrews 6:4-8, Hebrews 10:26-27, and Hebrews 10:38-39 to mean "loss of salvation" for Christians who fall away from the faith or willfully sin. I am a former living example of these passages who personally experienced the chastising hand of God when I fell away and lived in willful sin. I was in that state for 9 long years. However, after I was chastised by God I was then restored to FELLOWSHIP with God and here I am today. God's chastisement is both punitive and restorative. This is confirmed by such passages like Job 5:17-18, Proverbs 3:11-12, and Hebrews 12:5-11.

Heb 3:12-14 " Take care, brethren, lest there be in any of you AN EVIL, UNBELIEVING HEART, leading you to fall away from the living God. But exhort one another every day......that none of you may be harden by the deceitfulness of sin. FOR WE SHARE IN CHRIST, IF ONLY WE HOLD OUR FIRST CONFIDENCE FIRM TO THE END." Heb 2:1-14 " We must pay the closer attention to what we have heard LEST WE DRIFT AWAY FROM IT. For if the message declared by angels was valid and EVERY TRANSGRESSION OR DISOBEDIENCE received a just retribution, how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation?... Heb 4:11 " Let us therefore STRIVE TO ENTER THAT REST, that no one fall by the same sort of disobedience". Heb 10:26-39 " If we sin willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful prospect of judgment and a fury of fire.....How much worse punishment do you think will be deserved by the man who has spurned the Son of God, and profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and outraged the Spirit of grace? .....do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. FOR YOU HAVE NEED OF ENDURANCE, SO THAT MAY DO THE WILL OF GOD AND RECEIVE WHAT IS PROMISED."......my righteous one SHALL LIVE BY FAITH, and if he SHRINKS BACK, MY SOUL SHALL HAVE NO PLEASURE IN HIM...." 1 Timothy 4:1 " The Spirit expressly says that in later days some will DEPART FROM THE FAITH......GIVING HEED TO DOCTRINE OF DEMONS"......YET GES SAYS THEY ARE SAVED.....

People who believe that they can "lose their salvation" (sounds paradoxical to me) trust in their works, their own "righteousness" and have never gone through true repentance. This is said and written for them: ‭Matthew 7:21-23 [21] “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. [22] On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ [23] And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’ They don't even realise that. Strongly deluded!

@alexandertrifonov8188 Those people in Matthew 7:22-23 believed in Jesus, did works Jesus told us to do but their belief was superficial, being devoid of repentance and they lived in continuous unrepentant sin which is iniquity. Jesus never knew them.

1:18 - I find it funny that they show Hebrews 10:10 & 14, because those verses blow up their doctrine that salvation can be lost. He just mentions that Hebrews 10:10-14 is showing that the chapter is about eternal salvation, but the problem is that he completely ignores that Hebrews 10:10 says that we're sanctified through Jesus once for all, and in Hebrews 10:14 where it says that Jesus' one offering has perfected for ever them that are sanctified. So Once Sanctified Always Sanctified. ---------------------------- Hebrews 10:10 - By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. Hebrews 10:11 - And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: Hebrews 10:12 - But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; Hebrews 10:13 - From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. Hebrews 10:14 - For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. ---------------------------- Jude 1:1 - Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called: Jude 1:2 - Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied. ----------------------------

Here's some from Hebrews that show OSAS is a man-made teaching Hebrews 3:6-19 But Christ is faithful as the Son over God’s house. And we are his house, (IF) indeed we hold firmly to our confidence and the hope in which we glory.,7So as the Holy Spirit says: “Today, (IF) you hear his voice, 8do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion, during the time of testing in the wilderness, 9where your ancestors tested and tried me, though for forty years they saw what I did. 10That is why I was angry with that generation; I said, ‘Their hearts are always going astray, and they have not known my ways.’ 11So I declared on oath in my anger, [‘They shall never enter my rest.’ ”] 👉12 See to it brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God.👈 13But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. 14We have come to share in Christ, (IF] indeed we hold our original conviction firmly TO THE VERY END. 15As has just been said: “Today, (IF) you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion.” 16. Who were they who heard and rebelled? Were they not all those Moses led out of Egypt? 17 And with whom was he angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies perished in the wilderness? 18 And to whom did God swear that THEY WOULD NEVER ENTER HIS REST (IF) NOT TO THOSE WHO DISOBEYED? 19 So we see that THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO ENTER, BECAUSE OF THEIR UNBELIEF. [Note:disobedience is the equivalent to unbelief] Hebrews 4:1-11 1Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it. 2For we also have had the good news proclaimed to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because they did not share the faith of those who obeyed. a 3Now we who have believed enter that rest, just as God has said, “So I declare on oath in my anger, ‘They shall never enter my rest.’ ” And yet his works have been finished since the creation of the world. 4For somewhere he has spoken about the seventh day in these words: “On the seventh day God rested from all his works.” 5And again in the passage above he says, “They shall never enter my rest.” 6Therefore since it still remains for some to enter that rest, and since those who formerly had the good news proclaimed to them did not go in because of their disobedience, 7God again set a certain day, calling it “Today.” This he did when a long time later he spoke through David, as in the passage already quoted: “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.” 8For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken later about another day. 9There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; 10for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, e just as God did from his. 11Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience.

So why do some people lose their salvation while others keep it? Its it something they do?( Like not sinning for example). So the cross + not sinning = salvation? How can Poonen and others claim such a thing and still consider the finished work of the cross? It sounds like they don't.

It starts with repenting of sin crucifying the flesh resulting in a change of conduct and becoming a new creation in Christ Jesus. Not sinless perfection but a pattern that aligns with God.

The book of Hebrews was written to the Hebrews (Jews) this does not apply to us today who are saved by grace through faith in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ on our behalf. Please read our apostles books (Paul). The Jews could loose their "salvation" because... Acts 3:19 (KJV) Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; they are not "saved" until Jesus comes in his kingdom.

Once saved, always saved is not Scriptural. The first person to espouse the idea of "once saved, always saved" was John Calvin in the mid. `6th century. Even Martin Luther did not subscibe to this teaching. Prior to Calvin, the unanimous consent of early Christians was that a person is capable of losing salvation by committing a grave sin without repentance as John spoke about in 1.John 5:16-17. No suggestion of once saved, always saved can be found on the lips of any Christian before Calvin. I suggest you study Concupiscence.

Roman's 11:29 clarifies the calling and gift's invitation of Salvation via the Cross even more than that his Ressurection proving that even death is mastered in Christ Jesus. Accept his calling and gift's invitation ask for help with the depraved condition and hopelessly lost. The calling and Great Awakening that inspires belief encourages the acceptance of Salvation by grace threw Faith alone in the finished works in Christ Jesus is sufficient for Salvation Everything needed for the Forgiveness past present and future sin of the sinful nature and it's desires also the serpents head was crushed and sin out of temptation schemes and Device's of the Devil Also addressed and complete in Christ Jesus his final sacrifice gave us approval, justification, sin debts erased and forgotten to those chosen to and fuelled by God to simply accept his calling and gift's.. Invitation to surrender and enter his rest. He initiates our salvation of good works he began Also promised he would finish it. Salvation by grace threw Faith alone in Christ Jesus repentance is not required nor is it ever revocable. Born again and the Great Awakening that occurs in the New Creation of Salvation. Isn't giving the gift back nor rejecting the Truth Namely Christ Jesus our Lord, Savior and one truth God. Jesus saves and lives there are those who are preaching and teaching yet deny the Truth or Power and authority in Christ Jesus to to accomplish salvation apart From human efforts and desires. Still considering themselves something when the Truth is Apart from grace and faith Jesus provides to believe In Christ Jesus. We are nothing. Practice this become clay more and more..Let the Potter do his thing ❤
