Terri - what a beautiful friend. I live in a small town like this and these people feel so familiar to me. Her parents are good people. Such an unnecessary loss of life.

So many creepy guys in a small town close to the victim. Someone knows what happened.

I don't know how policing is in Australia but here in UK cold cases like this NEVER go away and often waiting for the "right" type of detective to come along and take an interest in the case. Sometimes their can be a wealth of circumstantial evidence.....but thats not enough for a conviction. I hope the parents of Lee Ellen get closure before they pass.

I understand Lee’s sister deciding not to have children. Children are very vulnerable even in safety .

WHY does the rest of the world have to put up with these monsters who can't control themselves?! I hope her family gets justice!

Poor Lee! How horrible for the family and the community. They know the killer(s) are right there, in this small town, and yet can't get the evidence to deal with them legally.

23:50: having a hard time believing that one. Maybe it’s true, but the chances of ALWAYS having someone you know drive by/walk by…and offer you a lift when you really need one…I dunno. Doesn’t seem possible. And isn’t exactly the definition of hitch-hiking. She knew the bus would be there soon, so maybe it was someone she knew. Or maybe someone pulled up, pointed a gun at her, and she didn’t think to run. ~*~*~ *ETA:* 25:00: 2 cars? This further makes me believe that she would accept a ride from a stranger. Maybe it was someone she had seen around town a lot, but she didn’t really know him…and just the fact that he was a local gave her a false sense of security. ~*~*~ No way would I be ok with a child of mine hitch-hiking. If there was any chance a work shift would run over the needed bus time, my child wouldn’t have that job. If I knew he/she missed the bus even once…and didn’t call me to pick her up…or didn’t call to let me know she was getting a ride home from a friend I knew…no way would she have that job. In fact, if she didn’t have her own car…or if I wasn’t available to take her and pick her up…I probably still wouldn’t let her have that job at 16.

Alot of money on this case... .someone she knew. ..yes, agreed. ..She was killed at a familiar area which she, the victim, visited ...This tells me, the killer was stalking her prior to death...This also tells me the killer wanted the victim to feel at ease.... there is no empathy in Murder .....

Lee needed a smoke and knew she would have to wait 15-20 minutes before Tamara could give her one. She saw Davis outside the mall, asked him for one, which he gave her and then he offered to drive her to Maclean to pick-up Teri. There was no cannabis conspiracy, Lee would not have jumped into a car with Apps, knowing his background. Davis is your murderer - imagine telling her grieving father that he "didn't even have his car that day" for no reason at all.

Sorry for the girl. I had the blessing of knowing I could call either of my parents if needed. And I did one time, with two friends. My father picked us up asap, drove both of them miles out of the way to their homes, and made me promise never to set foot in that place again.

There’s a very good chance these people have spoke smiled and laughed with the killer many times since. He’s local 🇦🇺

Without a doubt - in my opinion, it was a two man job, and they both worked at the Prawn Farm. As a young recreational weed smoker, With little income - two males known to her, offering some free puff ( maybe not the first time either ), im sure she would have jumped at the chance, regardless of all other circumstances. If my hunch is wrong - i will personally travel to her grave, and place flowers in her memorial, flying all the way from the UK to do it!!!! Respect and thoughts to family and friends 😪

If people won't do it out empathy maybe the reward will be a incentive..

What baffles me is why these guys keep getting out of jail or prison with the rap sheet that they have. Repeat offenders will repeat their offenses. After murdering and raping and they get another chance to be on the streets?! It's crazy.

It's all so sad! But what really, really got to me was that her sister Kylie will have no children, the mom and dad will have no grandkids. But like the dad said, you've got to respect that. I pray they find the murderer, I hope someone comes forward with whatever they know. I wish them all nothing but peace and love.

I so wish we could live in a world where everyone was safe and we treated one another like we are brothers and sisters under God, like we are supposed to. Now that I am 53, I feel like I'm everybody's Mom. When I babysat, I knew in the back of my head, I knew I would take a bullet or lay my life down for any one or all of the kids I had in my care. I still feel that way.

My heart breaks for Lee and her family. It’s cruel and evil to kill someone but the torment they must feel of not knowing who/why must sickening and further heartbreak for them. I sincerely hope they catch this b*stard. RIP, Lee. I hope your parents will get justice for you. 💔

This is so sad :( I think it's one or 2 of those persons of interest did it. It's just tragic that they can't prosecute them because there's no evidence, merely speculation and accusation from both POI. I feel so bad for Lee's parents. I hope they can at least find out and have justice for Lee before they pass. Too many parents of victims pass away not getting justice or knowing who did it. I hope someone who knows what happened at least grows a little bit of conscience and call the tip line. Maybe if there's a big reward? I hope they highlight this case so it will be remembered and people talk about it again.

It seems odd to me, that she would hitch a ride, when she knew her friend wouldn't be long, and there was a bus coming. Just sayin.

Not saying this to upset the parents…but if I knew my daughter sometimes had to hitchhike, to get to and from work, there is NO WAY she would have a job. If she hitchhiked anywhere, she would have been grounded so fast.

I hope there is some DNA on that chunk of wood, or on anything recovered

The poor Lee, My heart breaks for the family and friends and community. They really need to catch this or these bastards. How the hell could you kill a young girl!! If anyone knows anything just give the family or police a name or something!

If their are suspects an expert could interview them at the very minimum. It may even be possible to get confession or leads this way. No voilence or threat is needed nor should it be. Science princia has some skills and tools in communication. Also truth through other expertize without harm may be possible. Just hope advances in our era streamlines data and interveiw techniques that matter. It would help if intelligence measures and critical skills are measured when hiring staff in jobs that desperately need such people. Highing on looks etc can costs us our outcomes...brains also matter.

So sad, but it seems again we need as a world to stop releasing criminals, or giving paraole/bail, so many re-offend when out or on parole!

So sad, the parents are so very obviously kind people. A lot of creepy men in that small town. And how do they keep getting released? Also, random but I had to replay the video a few times because I wanted to make sure I was hearing it correctly. Are people allowed to bury a loved one/body anywhere? I was taken back by the fact that she was actually buried in the spot that they had the memorial. In Canada you can sprinkle ashes in various places but a body can only be buried in a cemetery. Lots of love, peace and prayers to the family and friends. I pray that this horrible and tragic case is solved one day soon. 🙏🏼❤️

I know somebody that suddenly up and left Yamba after this murder, in such a hurry that he left his dogs at the council pound and then went back to break in and get one of his dogs out. He also had a thing for redheads.

We all no how it feels to have your car or bike stolen that precious un replaceable hunk of steel and every time you see one you go through the same emotional pain of where’s mine. I’m not a parent but to have a child parent or sibling vanish must just eat at your soul. Specially when it’s for some sickos ten minutes of fun. 🇦🇺

If you speak up you can swiftly become the next murdered victim which is why many who know something stay silent out of fear….. not to do with this case but there are things I know that I’ll be taking to the grave cause I know damn well if I opened my mouth I’d end up in some bush grave.

I bet Lee knew her killer & is someone local & know the area & routines ? Maybe even know the family. Were these girls pot smokers ?

For once it was just fantastic to see someone ( Deborah Wallis) tell someone who’s displaying their tears & grief that’s is absolutely okay to do so ! Very kind & compassionate. So many people apologise for showing their tears & I’ve never understood why & why should they apologise anyways. I’ve never seen an interviewer show compassion or kindness or say it’s okay …..until now . People should always comfort a grieving person not just sit there like a dummy pushing the next question. This dreadful act has had an impact on virtually their whole town in some way. There's the family of course, then all the friends, the people who worked with Lee, Kylie or their parents. The neighbours who are scared, "is my daughter next?". The people who work at the school or any services & shops Lee went to. The people who were accused (whether true or false). Even now, anyone who comes I to Kylie's life, especially as a romantic partner, is affected in that she refuses to have children because of this. Imagine being the new love interest, not knowing any of this, but then finding out as much as you live this woman, you'll never parent together because of this event. It's seems never ending when it comes to people affected by these horrible events. It's just doesn't stop, does it?!! 😢🤞🏻💕💕

Questions: are the persons of interest still in the area ? If not are the police aware of there whereabouts and doings and have they violated any law ?

💖 I cried. My absolutely heartfelt condolences to your family. Gratefully, I don't know how it feels, but with 2 children I think it must be a total life sentence without a doubt. If Lee's parents knew they're home was located by these deviant men they might have been more protective of their girls. A young girl hitch hiking and or being alone on the roads - not a good idea anywhere or at any time. It's looking like girls and women need to have some sort of personal protection at all times. Crimes such as this are becoming very common, sad to say. I wish someone would come forward. So much grief these poor parents have to experience day in and day out.
