A day in the life of Boho Beautiful as we intermittent fast, calorie count & nutrient track, and go through our daily rituals of superfood coffees, sulphoraphane skin lotions, and monitoring our daily water intake. Intermittent fasting has been one of the key components to a lot of our personal optimization, and has shown us the dirrect connection between eating in the 8-16 fasting window to increase energy, creativity, and our productivity every day. We are new to calorie tracking, but have already seen great value to counting, keeping a diary, and calculating your daily calorie intake to hit strategic dietary and healthy goals!

I love you guys and I have to say that intermittent fasting, calorie counting and eating fewer meals can be a HUGE EATING DISORDER TRIGGER for starting or relapsing behaviors. I do my best to stay nonjudgmental on this issue however when it is presented without this disclaimer I feel a sense of responsibility to say something as a person recovering from anorexia. I don’t think you have eating disorders and I know you have given this disclaimer before 🙏 I truly respect and admire your commitment to holistic eating and using tracking to ensure you get nutrition not only measured by calories but by actual nutrition values regardless. Thank you breaking dangerous myths about fat vegan diets and more. Namaste . 🙏

Molly Eisen-Kearns I 100% agree. I started counting calories to lose weight and it became an obsession which lead to my eating disorder, I also used intermittent fasting as an excuse to skip breakfast which fed my sickness.

That's like saying having a glass of wine with dinner is a huge trigger for alcoholism. Sure, maybe for a minority few but it doesn't mean the rest of us can't talk about wine without "disclaimers". And for the vast majority of people intermittent fasting provides undeniable research-backed benefits. The facts are in: westerners eat (graze) way too much. Our ancestors didn't used to live this way and the notion of "three squares a day" was actually pushed by the cereal industry some decades ago. At its core intermittent fasting is about time restricted eating not calorie restricted. I fast for 20-22 hours a day and I put down the same amount of calories as when I ate all day long. If you don't know what makes one different from the other than I suggest you educate yourself.

Andy verry true indeed- I updated to say can be and not is - I thought I had written it that way initially- my apologies - I am stating this because I know how easy it is to be triggered and that boho would likely care to know and I believe has made the note before although I may be mistaken - Thanks also for noting the not under eating part of fasting that is just the kind of information that helps to keep the risks down 👍 I could have just ignored it and I chose to say something instead as an advocate and to add to the message - anorexia is the most deadly mental illness and easily fallen into in our society that’s why I say something - and yes for those who deal with being in recovery from alcoholism a glass of wine with dinner would be a trigger and has been the start for others and for the vast majority it’s not a problem- so glad you don’t have the experience of an eating disorder this gives me hope for humanity and joy to know - for those who do struggle it’s a real distorted and hellish state of mind - namaste

I just started intermediate fasting about a week ago so it was great to see this video from you guys 😭💕💕 I already feel better since I started. I don’t feel so sluggish and weighted down. Hey Mark, couldn’t agree more, fasting has made a huge difference. I make lunch my last meal at around 2-3:00pm, a protein bar if I really need something. Lots of water & then I have my delicious breakfast to look forward too. No bloating anymore

KBro05 I agree. I have been doing IF for almost a year now and it’s the best thing ever. To those comments about IF isn’t good for you, people need to realize that just bc it doesn’t work for you doesn’t mean it won’t work for someone else. Yes, it can bring you into “starvation” mode if you are not careful but that is why you need to make sure you eat well within the amount of time you’re supposed to eat.

Great video! Martina is quite the photographer! I do intermittent fasting; it has really helped me maintain my weight. I live in northern Vermont, USA, and during the winter I usually gain 5 - 7 pounds, but since IF I do not! Your are beautiful people inside and out!

Being an Indian, I really really can't stay away from our foods ... Our traditional foods have so much nutritional value plus the deliciousness.. And I don't count my calories... After years of being massively overweight, just gaining back whatever I managed to loose, suffering with the back ache, the knee pains, the breathlessness, getting my arms stuck in all sorts of clothes, being told repeatedly by medical people I’m at risk of small these horrible things, and all the while knowing I’ve tried and failed more times than I can count - I’m going to try this app. I completely understand that there is a darker side to calorie counting, but for anyone else who can relate to the impact obesity has in your life - picking yourself up again, facing the scales and trying again is the best thing you can do for yourself. Each time we do, we learn something new about ourselves, our thought patterns, nutrition, physiology and well being.

GUYS!! no app or other person knows how much water you should drink..everybody is different and has different needs. amount of water depends mostly on foods you eat. I eat high water content foods like fruit and don't drink a single drop of water and don't even ask me how many times I go pee. Just listen to your body when it needs water and don't force it to drink just because you hear how much water a person needs. that's bullshit. drink when your thirsty. that simple.

I’ve been intermittent fasting for awhile now and can personally attest to the wonders it’s done for me. I’ve had several people at work ask me about it and have started doing it themselves. I think it’s a very intuitive way to eat. I love it!🙌🏼

We learn to see ourselves within our fellow brothers and sisters and not see OTHERS . We see with Optimism not Pessimism always because we do not bring that negativity and toxic energies ever. We see only with reverence and never judgement because if we judge we see others and not part there of ourselves. Thanks for sharing this video. I feel its an important topic, because over eating and portion control is a big problem in modern countries. I am sure that this may have triggered some individuals, but that is no reason not to avoid being conscious of what and how much you are eating. I started using a tracking app after I couldnt budge my post baby weight..... only to discover that I was eating an extra dinner and a half consistently, everyday. Eeek. The benefit I found was understanding portion size. Huge game changer. My carbs were way too big as a portion, and heading into my 50s, the health repercussions of excess weight and fat ....well, I dont want to die in my 70s!! How depressing is that. Great great content. Thanks.

Great video and thanks that you take us to your journey by creating those videos🤗 I was using lifesum for like 3 years and it was really helpful and Iˋve learned so much about my habits! I stipped tracking as I wanted to challenge myself to be more aware of my body and its needs. Because the only thing those tracking apps cant actually track is the individuality of our bodies - like some days your body is just physically working harder (e.g. Because its fighting a infection that is entering the body) but you just dont know because you cant see that. But you van feel more hunger and then you should listen to your body however the app says you hade enough calorie intake according to its standards. Or vice versa. For me it was important to come back to my body and listen to it without a tracker. But I dont really have problems with weightgain neithet am I in need to lose weight. For people that want to have more insight what intake they have and maybe greate new habits, lifesum is definitely a great tool!😃 I love the japanese music in the beginning😍🤗

I really enjoyed the insider look into what filming is like for you. It’s lovely getting to know you and your crew. I think you guys are great. However, I really didn’t like the product placement and being “educated” on intermittent fasting. Both things that feel like aspects of controlling eating, something in my view that should be more relaxed and enjoyable. Although I know you are both passionate about good health and inner harmony, this feels a little rigid and out of harmony. I am still a faithful follower. Just wanted to share my sincere view. 🙏💖

Hey, I’ve recently had to start detox juicing as I’ve been having stomach issues. If you make fruit/veg juices could you maybe make a video on your favourite juices for getting rid of toxins or fat loss ⭐️💓

D A I’ve been doing it for a week and I’ve found it extremely effective. I was on a lot of laxatives and I still hadn’t gone to the toilet in three and a half weeks but since I’ve been drinking detox juices I’ve been going regularly which is extremely rare for me. I’m talking from my experience and I’m not dehydrated at all. I’ve been ill and bed bound for 5 years and I’ve felt so much better since doing it. I know a lot of people that detox juices have helped for so I find it very hard to believe that it’s bs. My doctor and paediatric have both said it’s fine to do. It’s my body and my life so if I choose to try anything I possibly can to make myself feel as good as I possibly can then I should feel free to do so. My body doesn’t work the way it’s meant to and I’m on a lot of medication so maybe that why it works for me and why it’s been clearing the toxins in my body. It’s working for me so I’m obviously going to believe that it works. I don’t understand how putting fruit and veg in my body could possibly be bad for you.

Hi! I've been doing your workouts for a while now; and your VIDEOS are such a treat to my eye. Beautiful video-a-graphy (if thats a word...)!!!! But what I really wanted to say was I wanted to give you some ideas for your prenatal class. Right now I'm in my second trimester. I'm not that big and can still able to touch my toes lol. And lately I've been really into your yin yoga hamstring love song video with the lizard pose my fav. And 21 day sweat part 2 video (obviously I cant do all the videos in a sequence and I adjust some of the on your belly moves and do something else). But from my experience I wanted to give you some pointers for a prenatal class. It would be really nice if you broke up the class or had moves that would fit different trimesters. Obviously first trimester you could do a lot more cardio/strength/balance and in second trimester and third more yin yoga and especially hip stretching!!! When you're pregnant your body releases hormones that reduce the pain of muscle stretching that's why your abdominal muscles can stretch so much with little discomfort. (occasionally I do feel it though). But I also personally feel that I've improved my flexibility in my hips, way faster than I normally would of if I wasn't pregnant. Just last week I couldn't even put my elbows to the floor during lizard now I can with a lot less discomfort. And it feels great. Hopefully releasing tension in my hips/ lower back would make birthing less stressful. And towards the third trimester you could focus more on mediation and yin yoga related to birthing or nurturing, stress relief etc. but I wanted to give you a heads up, for each trimester the workout requirements are very different, and since your online that gives you a special ability to cater to these different stages of pregnancy. Each stage is vastly different. Also cardio in the 21 days of sweat pt. 2 it's really nice since there's not a lot of jumping but yet you still feel your heart pumping. Jumping or running I just don't feel comfortable, doing in this stage. :) So thank you ! I wish I could financially support you guys because I've been benefiting so much! Thank you :) Also during the prenatal videos maybe you could touch on the importance of DHA, just thrive makes a really good probiotic, and maybe bring in a guest or talk to mid wives/ yogis/ etc that offer very special views on pregnancy. :) I wish you guys the best!

also one last tip that I wish I knew in my first pregnancy. The amount of calories you actually need when you're pregnant verses not (I dont keep track but this information is good to know) if you look it up first trimester is only about 300 more and second and third is about 500-700 more (not exactly sure). But basically you don't need to eat for two, because your body becomes a super fat storing machine and becomes very efficient seemingly no matter what you do. In my first pregnancy I probably gained 60 pounds rather than 30 because at first I really thought I had to eat double my calories! (don't worry you quickly lose it especially if breast feeding) anyways some tips you may or may not want to include!

Nadia Barmasse Stopping tracking calories was one of the hardest obstacles I faced with recovery, I hate to see people promoting this as a healthy habit. I agree that it can help people be healthier but it can also help people become sicker, obsessive and disordered. 💚

Nadia Barmasse I’ve stopped counting calories & it feels I’ve got my life back. If I want a “sometimes” food I save it for 1 day in the week. For me it’s Friday. Then nothings off limits & Im in control. You can become a slave to counting calories. Well done on all your work in recovering. You got this👍

I am experimenting on the fasting since 4 days. The first two days were tougher. The mind just kept saying eat something. I eat when I have anxiety or stress...all kinds of junky comfort foods....this had to stop.The ‘will’ is more powerful than the mind after the 2nd day. Then it gets easier. I eat only one time after 5:30 pm. My body feels lighter. Meditation gets deeper. Just overall feeling minimalistic and more in tuned with spirit. The passage home and the eyes of spirit clearer. Also, channeling my guides and the question answer period between us during meditation is clear...like a telephone conversation. Blessings of the power of spirit😇!

I ask myself: If I lay on my death bed would I want to look back foodwise on a life that was marked by calorie restriction or not. While I personally want to look back on a life marked by eating vegan wholefoods and feeding my body only what is good for it and comes from plants it wouldn't make me happy or bring peace to my heart knowing that the one life I was ever to be given I chose to live away with calorie restrictive or fasting behaviour. :( If you look in nature, animals of the same species have a pretty much the same body and they are not restricting their calories but are eating the foods thay're designed to eat by nature. And many animals live in their food abundantly around them. I am 173 cm, 33 years old and female and weigh 53ish kgs and do not restrict my calories. I work out 70 to 90 mins daily six times a week and do some stretchings for another 70-90 mins and my calorie intake is what my body wants, which is between 2500 to 3300 kcals on average with rare days above or below this range. To me, this is proof that having a fit and healthy weight doesn't require calorie restriction. Every shape or form that comes with calorie restriction is not for me.

I mean a guy got a Nobel prize for proving that fasting is beneficial for your body, and help with fighting diseases... also I don't think that properly done IF is about calories restriction, you literally need to take all the calories you need for a day but within a certain span of time, and then nothing until the same span of time next day... etc.

You're totally right but I guess your life is already very healthy. My family always dealed with overweight and all of us are eating A LOT. Just too much. It is very hard for me to eat "normal" amounts of food, because eating to much was always a part of my life and listen to my own body is something I will learn, but sometimes I eat without hunger. It was a hard way to loose 40 pounds (without calorie tracking because I had no smartphone) and now it gives me a feeling of "safety" to track calories sometimes to get this feeling for normal amounts again. I don't do this everytime, maybe 1 week per month or less. But for me, it is not really a restriction. I'm sure I would gain weight very fast without a form of controlling it. Listen to your body/hunger is great but its a process. And counting calories is a tool to stay healthy for me.

Fasting helped me heal from a lifelong unhealthy relationship with food and drastically changed my life and health. It took around two years of trying and failing and trying again before eating disorders lost their grip on my soul. If you do struggle with an eating disorder, accountability while learning to fast is an amazing way to start the healing process. It is possible!

I can relate when Juliana said she wanted to keep that paradise secret! I also feel the same, but I think it's kinda fair. Because once the place is well known and many people come in, it'll be destroyed and raped. People leave plastic trash on the ground and into the water. There are some beautiful virgin beaches here downtown the city. Few hours driving on the road, then about an hour driving through the harsh rocky limestone street, but so worthed!
