Literally in the exact same boat. Went from iphone 14 to this. My only con is the battery life. It absolutely sucks haha

The small foldable footprint is also a plus. The Flip 5 in a leather holster feels just right on my belt. The big turn-off for me with iPhones is the child slave labor used in the production of iPhones in CCP Foxconn factories.@@1PaulJ

It’s really all about what you use it for, I find the Pro Max 14 to be too… basic, great hardware but it feels like an expensive brick, I need the options android offers, but not everyone does.

As long as you’re happy to go android I think you’ll love the flip

my 13 pro max has insane battery life tbh

I have the 14 pro max and recently switched to the z flip 5. Battery life on the 14 pro max has been decreasing very quickly. I checked my performance and it's on 93%.... for an 8 month old device (in my hands) this is not the best I had. My previous phone was a 13 and its capacity was on 97% after a year. I've been apple user since 5s and 14 pro max is the first apple device I'm disappointed to have. If I can give you my two cents on the trade in decision, it would be to consider two things: 1. whether you are able to switch to android and you don't depend on apple ecosystem. 2. whether you will ignore the crease in the z flip 5. The crease is still there, it's more subtle than in the z flip 4 (at least I feel it less) but I don't care about it because this phone has other great aspects that just work right . If you're ready to switch to android and would get annoyed by the crease, then s23 is a good option. Apple is getting boring 🥴

Battery life should be much better and have the same size as the mini when folded so will feel similar

Do you take lots of photos for social media? Do you care a lot of the quality of your photos? The z flip is good for selfies and it’s a okay for most things, but the iPhone has a better camera to make your photos look really good. I would also want you to remember about portability, it’s like having a small camera that is easy to use and walk around with. Like I said earlier, taking group or selfies are much easier

@@1PaulJ I think I'll choose the S23 ultra because it has a better camera and zoom, yes overall it's better than the flip5. Because the S23 ultra has a 200 megapixel camera and 100 times zoom plus it has a pen so you don't get fingerprints on the phone, which I'm allergic to

Not customisable at all. This feels like a mini when folded but regular iPhone when flipped open

Performance is a big thing I've noticed using this phone. It's just not as slick as iOS

@@1PaulJ this is where I want to make the switch, but nearly all my communication is via iMessage/SMS. Group chats (thanks Apple) would take the hit.
