@Huh Clout But lets be honest. He's not getting fired solely because the Jaguars are bad. Looking at Khan's record, Urban Meyer would have gotten a 2nd and even likely a 3rd year despite the record. He's getting fired because he couldn't be a leader. He was constantly embroiled in drama (that he created), never took ownership of his wrongdoings (despite his motto being "own it"), played the blame game (cause nothing is ever his fault), then just straight up stop acting like a professional (referring to the handshake with Mike Vrabel). No one can take away his college record. And I think its a winning bet to assume a college program will give Urban Meyer another shot to help turn their program around.

But you gotta toughen up. Urban kicked him because he believed in him.

And his last yrs at OSU showed he was incompetent or lazy or just plain bad at picking coordinators. So, with that, what does he bring to Jasksonville that can turn them around quickly? NOTHING! I thought Jim Caldwell had some serious health problems - otherwise he would be a perfect choice for Jax - he is a players coach -with a good history of developing QBs -

The Jags didn't break up their team that offseason. In fact, it was quite the opposite. Outside of losing their primary nickel corner to Houston, they kept most of their key pieces in places. And this was the offseason they signed Norwell, who was suppose to help bolster their run game. The Jaguar's greatest problem that off-season was trying to pursue Kirk Cousins, a QB they knew they absolutely could not afford. Then when they failed to get him, they had to rely on a backup plan that they made up on the spot and resigned Blake Bortles, which was a terrible move cause they had won 2017 DESPITE him. That resigning let to them having to cut Bortles a year later when his play regressed and led the Jags to badly overpaying for Nick Foles, a QB we all knew would not work in Jacksonville cause history has already shown Nick Foles fail on a team very similar to the Jaguars (the Rams under Jeff Fisher). O and when you bad, you HAVE to overpay for less talent. That's why getting the draft right is so important and that's where the Jags have been failing horribly.

He was largely successful with both the Colts and the Lions. Your inability to understand the quagmire Detroit has been for fifty years is a you thing. In the right situation, with a possibly decent QB and some talent on offense, Caldwell could quite well be successful again.

@@dmo2k99 They had Matthew Stafford and "Megatron". And still couldn't do anything. Having ten wins means nothing anymore. Just making the playoffs isn't good enough anymore. No one has patience for either anymore. Being bad for 50 years makes you feel crappy and annoyed. Still wouldn't trust Caldwell with a rebuild like Jacksonville.

@@johnnymason2460 ten wins gets you into the playoffs, so no it isn't worthless. Also, Stafford has a much better team than he ever had under Caldwell, but no one believes they get out of the first round. I'm not saying Caldwell would be my first choice, but he could make the short list.
