Ya I'm done watching this show after this take by Wiley. Even if he doesn't think Kobe is top 10, there's no possible way you could justify ranking KD ahead of Kobe.

Marcellus has a track record for Kobe hate, it's all documented and televised. There is NEVER an argument for KD to be put over Kobe all time. Kobe and KD are both top 5 all time offensive players, however on defense alone Kobe has 12 All Defensive Teams (9 First Team - tied for most, 3 Second Team) compared to KD's 0 All Team Defensive Team.

Wiley using the Warriors blowing a 3-1 lead as justification as to why KD is better than is Steph is hilarious once you remember KD blew a 3-1 lead to Steph in that same playoffs 😂😂😂

Kobe was the best player from 2005-2009. KD was never considered the best even when he won the two finals MVP. Kobe is so underrated. Among all top 10 players you could argue that Kobe had the toughest competition during his career having played in 3 different eras: the late physical 90s, early 2000 with most HoF in their prime and 3 point era.

In no particular order here are my tiers: Goats of there era: Russell, Kareem, MJ, LeBron Best player in the world for multiple years: Wilt, magic, Bird, hakeem, shaq, Duncan, kobe. Arguably the best player in the world at some point: west, Oscar, dr.J, Moses, Isaiah, k.malone, KD, Giannis, Steph. I tried to be as fair as possible and have an even amount of players from each era on each tier.

I have never known a player be more hyped based off one element of their game. First off he’s just elite in scoring, he’s not got great handles, nor passing. As Broussard said, he essentially gets praised for his play as a big. In terms of scoring he has 4 scoring titles, 4 other players have the same or more, so as excellent as that is, let’s not act like he’s monolithic in that regard. In regards to Kobe, Kobe was a legit 2 way player, KD is a scorer with height which can prove advantageous in defensive positions. He isn’t half the defender Kobe was. Now resume, Kobe has 5 rings which he won both with and without Shaq. KD meanwhile won all his rings on Steph’s team. His playoff career record outside of those 3 years in GSW is 50%. That is not all time great. Far from it. It’s not controversial to say that if he didn’t join a stacked team to win rings, his legacy would be the same as James Harden’s. Acho is being too kind, even if we take this ridiculous argument that they each have 2 legitimate rings, we don’t throw out the other 3. Even if they count for far less they’re still a factor he has over KD who has a 50/50 record outside of GSW. Incidentally, Wiley is aware that Wilt’s second ring he wasn’t the guy on that team right? I mean it was 72, wilt was old, that was Jerry West’s team. He was the primary scorer. So to use his own argument about “driving the bus”, wilt had only the one ring by that criteria.

Hakeem is supremely underrated. Dude played with no one. The best #2 he had was Sampson (who was only really healthy Olajuwons first 2 years in the league), and they made it to the Finals and lost to the Dynasty Celtics. After Sampson left in 87, the Rockets didnt have anyone else of note until 1995 when they got an aging Drexler. Hakeem also has a winning record against Jordan's Bulls. In fact, the Rockets were fairly dominant against the Bulls until the Bulls added Rodman (Rockets were 11-5 when both Jordan and Olajuwon were on the court, after Rodman joined the Bulls Michael won 4 of the 5 games).

To put to rest this Finals MVP thing, when Kawhi won the Finals MVP, who was the driver of that Spurs team? Just because a guy wins the Finals MVP, doesn't mean he's the driver.
