They can also get obsessed with people who left them. Because they see everything as a game of win-lose. If you left the narcissist, the fact that this placed you ‘above them’, is viewed as a win for you. They become obsessed with you, and stalk your social media out of anger, shock, but also to work out WHY and what it is about you that gave you that strength. They want to see your downfall. They try to get back into your life just to try and turn it around, to discard you, or try to damage your confidence to place themselves above you in their head, which would be a ‘win’ for them.
@@thepragmatist If you are strong enough and get to the stage where you 100% don’t want them, the best way to get rid of them is actually to leave an avenue open for them to come back (they can’t), so they feel like they are choosing not to re-engage. Like you said, let them feel they are in control. Trying to cut them out just ramps up their desperation and weird stalker behaviour. Just leave your IG visible for instance. If they feel they could connect, but don’t want to, you’re good. Then act like a knob if they get in touch…. they soon scarper.
Yes they have many people watching you and reporting back to them. My Narc laughed and told me i would be shocked if i know how many people he had watching me. I consider it is a school boy's thrill. Just a part of the illness.

I left after 43 yrs. It’s 2 yrs now and I finally realize what peace is. It was rough, but I knew I couldn’t go back. Radical acceptance is very important. He is a covert narcissist and very very good at it.

My ex spied on me for at least 10 years. Bugged my car, had sound recording cameras all over, knew by text about my smallest spending. Now that I know about all his schemes with post separation abuse, I can see that he was just assuming that I was as crooked and creepy as he was… some people had warned me, I just couldn’t believe them. Stay safe everyone and please always assume the worst possible scenario with narcs.
I'm 3 plus years and she won't give up. I got up and went out on my balcony in the middle of the night and she was standing in the dark in my driveway. Very very creepy people. I'm not sure why she does this.

I have an elderly religious narc woman that’s a flying monkey for another woman she reports to about my going ons. She wants to know all my business by asking personal questions but I’m onto her. If I ask her a question, she conveniently tells me she can’t remember or she doesn’t know. I was a good neighbor and drove her all over five years ago until I stopped doing so. She threw me attitude when I told the other one I was fed up with being her taxi knowing it would get back to her which it did. Last week she called dancing around saying she needed to visit her doctor. I didn’t bite the hook and she has a daughter that’s out for summer due to her being a teacher. This daughter lives very close by but when I suggest her daughter take her the answer is always « they’re busy ». I see through these two women for what they are. I feel my every move is being watched as a form of manipulation and control. Paula, every word you say is true and scary as I’ve lived this with several people. Yes, they rotate their backups and I now take their dislike for me as a badge of honor that I’m doing something right and strong! GRMA. Thx.
@@mindfulmaximalism I’ve done nothing but be a good neighbor to her and she obviously doesn’t like the fact I told her NO to being her taxi years ago. Yet, last holiday season she injured her back and was essentially bedridden. I brought over a couple of meals and one time her neighbor above came in with one too. I noticed an immediate attitude change as if I was bothering her and as if I was dismissed. I realized she had an audience as well as her having people basically wait in her. The one nearby daughter does her errands and never visits long and the other daughter also about a twenty to thirty minute drive away hasn’t been to visit in almost six years. That other daughter used to visit daily but I gather something between them occurred. As Paula has conveyed in her podcasts these narcs are clever devils and it all lines up once you see the signs. You truly become educated where you begin to see the red flags early on so you avoid getting stuck into someone else’s web of toxicity, deceit and manipulation. Caveat Emptor.
I dealt with this and saw it starting that taxi stuff I put a stop to it then broke my lease (oh well)..these old narcissists family is fed up so the use their neighbors that don't know them but God sees them and they not getting away you reap what you sow

The narcissist steals the inner light of their victims. It's taken piece by piece over time. Then we're left in a state of darkness and despair. On the verge of taking our own lives because they polluted our soul with their darkness and then discarded is and left us to die. That's their ultimate wish, that we die..
I am having a hard time of getting over that feeling of devaluation. Every single time I think of the narc, only that deep feeling returns -- of being thrown away like nothing. And that feeling makes me so deeply sad that a friend, family member … someone that said they cared for me would harshly and randomly discard me like nothing. I just hope to get over that deeply devaluing feeling. After that, I can completely move on. I’ll be freed from this life of narc for sure!

Unfortunately this is all part of it. It took months for me to get past that feeling along with stopping to love a person who I had a +45 year best friend relationship with. You need to grieve and forgive yourself for getting/staying involved. Be THANKFUL that you are out of it. Watch the videos, especially Dr Ramini. My neighbor has a ring camera directly across from my bedroom windows. He recently offered to mow my lawn, then cut down the limbs on the privacy trees between us so "his head wouldn't hit them as he mowed" without any consideration for my preference for them. Then, he stopped offering to mow the lawn. I offered to pay him, even threw money at him, for his service, but he refused and threw it back. He got what he wanted. This is just one of the many games I've caught him playing in the short few months I've known him.
My neighbors do this too! Directed at my front door! She’s so goofy she didn’t see the other narc neighbor hit her car with their car door cause her obsessed behind had the camera facing my door instead of in front of her door. Now she has car problems & can’t drive her car 🤦🏽♀️ The obsession from these ppl is CRAZY 😳
He also just left the downed limbs in the grass. I removed them and didn't even say anything about the situation to avoid confrontation. Then, he later gave me his excuse for doing so. So what can I do? I parked my car under the trees, and I always back my car in. What does he do? He installed a carport, and now he backs his car in under it. His jealous/competitive nature is so obvious. I find it so desperate and repulsive, but also flattering.
That is disgusting for him to do that. And yep he is jealous. Very jealous which is so stupid. He's not you and can never be you. They all are a "something kind of stupid."

I Knew he was spying on me but I had disengaged, so thought of the narc as pitiful & wondered why he would waste his time when he had several supplies. This video was very informative, and I thank you. I didn't want to hear the words that it would never be over. I've now realized that I must stay more vigilant regarding the narcs possible presence forever in my life. I don't think he really cares because most of his girlfriends are very young & by being with them it makes him feel young. However, one never knows what's going around in their tiny brain. I was hoovered by email several times after i went No Contact 4-1/2 yrs ago. I ignored all attempts to lure me back in. I didn't even open the email attachment instead i just deleted them.😊

Ways that I was spied on.... car tracker, cell phone (without getting physical access to my phone to put spyware on my phone), stalking, fake caller ID, locksmith to get keys on locks. Absolutely crazy-making.

And even though he is blocked on my social media, I can feel him spying on me. My only sister, the only other one living out of all my family, was a severe narc. I didn't even know she was dying, and on her deathbed she told her caretaker, "don't tell Eve" (me). I was contacted months later after being tracked down. If that's not the poster child of a hideous narc, I don't know what it is.

My neighbor whom I used to cook dinner for every Sunday and holidays now is a flying monkey for my ex bff who had an affair with my fiancé and then they both discuss my life, lie about it and manipulate the narrative of my life. I have shown the letters to my divorce solicitor and he confirmed that this is an offence. I'm going to have to report this to police to put an end to this violation. My poor children don't realise they are enabling his behaviour.
I’m super clean and meticulous about bugs in my home. All of a sudden since I’ve been avoiding my narc neighbors (who I’m almost certain do dark witchcraft) I’ve gotten about 3 large flies in my house! So creepy!!!! Then I went on a walk around the block to smoke a joint the other night & why did one of my neighbors who’s obsessed w me basically watch me from her window leaving and followed me with her small child like why u so desperate to follow me that you bring a small girl with you late at night knowing how unsafe this place is, it’s so weird. I was so lit I couldn’t even believe it was them cause what is a small child doing walking around with you late at night & happen to turn the same corner I’m walking down?! 🤔 I’m just saving up to move cause please believe I’m outta here. A neighbour is doing this, I am single woman and live alone, a married neighbour became obsessed, I’ve had to call the police 4 times, go to court for a restraining order, put blackout curtains up and I’ve only lived here a year. I told him to leave me alone and he had narcissistic rage collapse and lost his mind, started full on stalking and harassing, he’s on the verge of being arrested at this point- over nothing, because I told him no and to leave me alone. His wife seems totally brainwashed and will just go along with anything he does
I'm so sorry you're going through this. It seems they love to target single women who don't have any men around to physically protect them. My experience has been that if they think they are in physical danger, they will stop.
Thank you Paula. I was in a long term marriage with a narcissist and I often used to get caught off guard by him creeping around the house quietly and listening to my conversations. He would have that "knowing" that I was talking about him, probably because he knew I was so unhappy about his controlling behaviour and he would sneak up on me and then walk into the room with a smirk on his face. He took great delight in letting me know that he had heard what I was talking about. Everytime he would leave the house and drive off in the car, he would come back 5 minutes later because he had forgotten something. This used to drive me crazy because it was like he was trying to catch me doing something wrong which was never the case. He also had now totally reframed the reason why I left him and now thinks it was nothing to do with him and just thinks I left because it was too chaotic for me at home after our daughters moved back in with us with their children after they got evicted. Yes it was chaotic but that was not the only reason why I left, it was mainly because of him emotionally checking out and leaving me with everything.
Yes I'd be asleep and jump up in a panic catching him creeping around or over me, or shutting fan off when it was like 80degrees knew I was trying to sleep, and hot, seems too enjoy me in tears, unhappy, and so much more.id go back, where I live this stuff happens different ways it's very creepy, uncomfortable, stressful😢
Aaaah yes. The “spying”…my former covert narcissist best friend of 45 years once told me her “super power” was the ability to watch other people’s every move and figure out their weaknesses. Recently after working with this man for 4 years I realized he was a covert Narc & was using me. I immediately pulled my empathy, attention, & unconditional compassion from him. He started freaking out pacing back and forth for weeks desperatly trying to make eye contact with me. Everyday he came at me from a different angle until he realized I knew and I wasnt going to budge. Then one day I was coming home from church and I caught him in my rear view mirror. He didint wave or anything and I thought at the time it was a coincidence but now Im pretty sure he was stalking me. He also seems to know when I didnt go somewhere I said I did. Hes a nut!
Have a 77 y.o. female narc neighbor and her 50 y.o. daughter who spy on me in a mobile park in Florida ( went no contact 3 mo after I moved in ). She has a hole cut out in her blinds so she can see when I come out of my home. She has followed me to the dumpster, laundromat, and over to neighbor's yards. I put up an outdoor shower curtain tied to a trellis to block her view and she went ballistic. Now I have property manager telling me it doesn't look "appealing" and to take it down . However she has duct tape all over her screened porch and doesn't need to address that. She has 2 dogs even though there is a strict one dog policy she has gotten away with. I have watched her start to hoover the neighbors she talked so badly about. A male neighbor spurned her daughter (he saw the crazy immediately ) and now when he talks to me she or her flying monkeys start watching us and interrupting our conversations. It's ugly watching the older narcs...they truly are infantile...it's like being in Jr high all over again. They truly are trapped in a very immature pattern. The thing that really pisses her off the most is I have an ebike..no car...so if she runs an errand and doesn't actually see me leave the house she can't tell if I'm home or not because there is no car in the driveway ever. My one little piece of satisfaction

I'm a builder with a website , in the first few months of the relationship, she viewed my website and had commented on certain pics I had put on there, without me even mentioning I had a website, definite background spying. I am lucky that other than email,she can't contact me on anything! I have never been on Facebook or any other media! I have been told by flying monkeys that she has changed her Facebook pages to private settings,s something I never looked at anyway, so don't nw why they contacted me,as they haven't since, I don't nw what private settings means but I realise that what I don't nw won't hurt me! If she has spyed on me I haven't realised it, I do agree with you that once the narcassist is either bored or not in a relationship they do spy! I am extremely conscious of who is following me home. If somebody drives too long behind me, I start to drive a different road to my home to determine if I'm really followed. I unfriended so many persons from my FB because she could tell me comments on my FB in detail. And I've blocked her many years ago!
My narc ex wife is also an alcoholic. For 11 years I got an almost nightly tirade of drunken, incoherent abuse for no reason. Every night, I went to bed wondering if tonight was the night she was going to burn the house down or fall down the stairs (if she made it that far). I had to get up every night at about 3am to put her to bed (separate room). I lost my job in 2008 when the collapse happened and couldn't get anything. Shortly after, I received a letter one day - a solicitors letter initiating separation proceedings. There was absolutely no discussion beforehand. A week before the house sale went through, she moved into a place with a guy she had known before we met, which was a complete shock for me (he left his wife for her). That year, my mother also died. Losing my mother, job, house, and marriage so close together sent me into a deep depression and I ended up in a psychiatric ward for 7 weeks. We went our separate ways and had zero contact for 5 years. She and the guy separated at some point and she also had to sell the new house that she had bought. On the day of the sale she had a brain bleed and was rushed into the hospital for surgery. Thats when i heard from her for the first time. She asked me if she could stay with me for a while until she got herself organised (her plan was to live with a sister living abroad). Under the circumstances i felt obliged to help out so i said ok. I had long since ceased to have any romantic feelings for her, i was just helping out of a sense of duty. Within a day or two she was calling the shots and abusing me again. If you walked into my apartment, you'd think she was the owner and me the guest. For the next 6 years she stayed despite multiple attempts to get her to move out. I set deadlines and dates when she needed to move out and she just ignored me and wouldn't leave. In the end i had to sell the apartment and move myself to get away from her. That was a year ago. Im not a particularly religious person but i try to be compassionate and help people if i can but man do i feel like an idiot!
Yes. You have to be really careful with situations like this. A friend of mine went through something similar. She was involved with a woman who had both physical and mental health issues. They lived together and were together a long time - about 10 years - when my friend couldn't take it anymore. By this point, I don't think they were together. My friend was just helping her and they lived together. My friend got her former partner into an assisted living (a care home for higher functioning people). My friend's partner was young - in her late 30s or early 40s but she really had some severe mental health issues. My friend's former partner was actually doing quite well in assisted living. But after a year or two she told my friend that she didn't like assisted living and wanted to move back in with her. My friend obliged and brought her ex partner back into her home. Her ex partner had her own apartment within the home. My friend was working full time as a nurse and was (again) caring for her ex partner. The ex partner could do way more than she was actually doing. She allowed my friend to do basically everything. When my friend said to her that she'd have to do more things herself and be more independent in order to stay, the ex partner went ballistic ultimately destroying the apartment. My friend then had to evict her, which was a whole process and extremely difficult. The whole apartment was destroyed and my friend had to renovate the whole house before selling it. It was expensive and time consuming. My friend now lives in another state (U.S.) and the ex partner continued to spiral ultimately spending time in a mental institution. They have been no contact for years now. All this to say that I totally relate to your situation because I saw my friend go through it. People's caring and empathy is weaponized against them. Thank you for sharing your experience because others can learn from it. We are taught to be "nice, kind, and caring" because it's the right thing to do. But that is a total misnomer in some situations like the one you describe. In fact, it can destroy your life. I wish you all the best.
Man approached me and my daughter at local grocery store. Asked me out, but being married I said no thank you. 2 years later, he reappears at same grocery store asks me out again and tells me he knows where I work and live. Next week he’s outside my home. 6 months later shows up at my job even and throws things about in my office. Scary Stalker. Not sure if he’d be labeled a narcissist or sociopath, but caused havoc.
@@thepragmatist I didn’t know him before. In the grocery store he kept telling me to follow his Instagram account and told me his channel name. After the scary office invasion where some of my things were thrown around, I finally looked on his channel, so now I know who he is.
@@thepragmatist looking back, I think there were times our paths crossed, but I can’t be sure. We definitely hadn’t spoken beforehand, at least not anything more than a general greeting. He said he was told by a psychic or tarot reader or something like that, that we were soulmates. It became very scary very quickly. Actually ended my already strained marriage. I don’t wish that experience on any one. (This channel has tremendously helped try to make sense of it all; meaning I’m not sure if the stalker was just mentally ill…. But the ex-husband’s reaction to it all, made me think he’s perhaps a narcissist… a word I haven’t really thought about previously…. And a word which seems to help understand why the ex-husband acted the way he did during the ordeal… when I needed him to protect me, I suppose… and he didn’t… instead he didn’t believe me at first, and then when he saw the stalker, said this is between me and the stalker… ) I’ve found some comfort telling myself the best thing about having a stalker was that it showed me who my ex-husband truly is. Lesson learned the hard way; but at least it’s behind me.
Yes, spying on me leaving Kohl's so I followed them! They ran into their house. It was a female unknown. Also, at home, when reactive abuse is in full swing, sirens loudly go off, and there is no fire or emergency!
I'm almost 60 and just realizing narcs in my life. So much makes sense to me now. I'm so grateful for these channels. Less information is necessary. I'm learning (it's a tough process after a lifetime of over- explaining and repeating myself in the hopes of being heard) to avoid any planning, discussions on my schedule and especially special events - which they will always have a crisis right before or during. Sometimes their "spying" is them keeping track of and calculating their next move against anything I've shared.

II have experience with narcissistic neighbors, I thought they were some kind of friends, I neglected red flags. When I became critical, the problems started. It is best to have a home where the narcissist cannot look out of your front door from their house, or walk past your window. I am fortunate to have such a home now. And of course I have learned my lesson because narcissists are everywhere.

Paula ~ Thanks for this video. You are absolutely spot on that these people have a pattern, especially after the age of 40. It is easy to spot if you know what you're looking for.
They will get a family member to act as a mole and give them information on what you are doing. If it’s not a family member or an ex in law family member, it can be through former friends in common. This means that went you cut off a narcissist you also lose family and friends who are still in touch with the narcissist and unwittingly or not, could give them information on you. It’s destructive and creepy.
Your information is so spot on for my situation. I often felt like I was being watched. He would know things about my whereabouts and what I did during the day that always made me wonder how he knew. 😮
Definitely happens and it gets much worse if they retire; way too much time on their hands. Tries to go into your phone, tries to get into your laptop, puts up cameras (with microphones) and can monitor it with an app on their phone, checks all credit card statements, standing just out of sight to eavesdrop on conversations, searches through your car, buys a garage door opener that has an app to tell them when the door is opened and closed, reads your datebook and goes through your wallet, it never ends. Don't know how he isn't exhausted from it....only to come up empty handed for years and years. Meanwhile, he tries to cheat with a coworker and she slaps him with a sexual harassment charge LOL!! Karma is good!

I cut off all contact back then. For the first few weeks I was uncertain about the person possibly "appearing" in whatever way..but then that thought eased. We have no people in common. I cut off all ties there were as in fb friends etc. Never heard back, and haven't seen or sensed anything either.
Thank you for this video. I watched it twice because it was so accurate. In 2021, I was blocked by this person on all forms of social media, phone, and email. Recently, I was surprised to discover that he occasionally unblocks me then re-blocks me on Facebook. I think this video is really accurate. I don't anticipate this person ever contacting me again unless he was really desperate but I was surprised to find out that he checks my FB because if I block someone, I'm not interested in what that person is doing.
Hello, I divorced decades ago. Ever since my ex partner and his relatives have been stalking me. He has even a hatery group online so that strangers also are stalking me. Every step that I take is being followed and the stalkers shout insults to me. Once they ruined my bike when I had parked it outside. It is very scary! It is very bad that police doesn't help in any way. When your ex and his relatives stalk you for decades after the divorce makes me wonder how disturbed and ill he is in his head! So unfortunately some of them don't never ever stop spying and stalking. Thank you for your great videos 🍀
My narc friend had been spying on my phone. They repeated things back to me that I had spoken in private. I began to suspect the worst. Finally one day at work I let out an expletive. The narc sent me a text a few seconds later, "So much anger lol". My heart dropped and that's when I went no contact. It was terrifying. I think now they are attempting to use family as flying monkeys, or at least gleaning information.
The x wife narc had my phone hacked she was 2,500 km away from me and she was sending me screen shots of my google searches on my phone then she text me saying I hacked your phone. I went and got a new phone, email address and phone number she phoned my new phone in 2 days 😮 how did she do that ? I asked my provider they don't know. I blocked her on everything and haven't heard from her in awhile so maybe that worked .
Probably through accounts you kept (like FB,Instagram,etc). You can’t use any old accounts or even call numbers you called in your contacts (bc they can hack those too). Or,she sat in front of your house and obtained MAC address and neighbors to keep it going. I too have this problem.They’ll become criminal if they’re determined enough.
My ex narc said all his exes were stalking them. Then he accused me of it and I hadn’t stalked him once. I told him YOU KNOW BETTER. PUT AN APPLE THING ON MY CAR I DON’T CARE. Often they feel so important they get paranoid and assume everyone is spying on them.
Paula I appreciate all the great quality information. I have a narcissist who drives 🚗 by my house 🏠 every other day sometimes twice a day, when there are different roads they could take to get to their destination.
