can you imagine telling someone a couple years ago that kawhi pg harden and westbrook are on the same team and virtually nobody believes in them to win a championship
@@EM92401I feel like all of them individually are justifiable (not so much Brooklyn) but the fact that all of the trade requests have happened in such a short time makes it look really bad. It seems as if he doesn’t wanna be on any team
I have no idea why they made this trade. Unironically, Westbrook is a better fit, because he plays better defense, so he can be in the closing lineup and the fact he needs the ball to be productive doesn't matter that much because kawhi and PG are also good off-ball. Westbrook was going to be that guy that got them wins when the others were out. There is no way they are gonna have both harden and Westbrook on court if they're healthy and if they're not they're not gonna win anyways. I hope they're cooking up some master plan where they're flipping him for like brogdon and Timelord or something.
Classic Morey W. He waited, and waited, and got a good return. The picks and contracts he got from Harden can be used to swing for someone at the trade deadline (OG Anunoby is my guess, perfect fit in Philly) while still having a ton of cap space next offseason to fill out the roster around Embiid and Maxey. Also got off PJ Tucker's terrible contract, so clear Sixers W
I don't like a lineup with Kawhi, PG, Hyland, and Harden on the floor at the same time. Yeah, they'll win a lot of regular season games, but this is a finals or bust team. When the pressure is on, you'll have 4 dudes on the floor whose only solution is to iso and attack the basket trying to draw fouls over and over again. There's only one ball.
That's not a lineup that ty lue or anyone would run outside of 3 mins. It's gonna be harden pg Kawhi and big Zu. Russ will be 6th man the Terrance mann then Hyland.
I'm a little worried about whether the duo of James Harden and Kawhi Leonard will be successful. Star players such as Dwight Howard and Chris Paul, who once formed a duo with James Harden, are rumored to have been kicked out of the team by Harden.
If anyone kicks Kawhi out of a team in favor of Harden, they’re genuinely brain-dead. Kawhi has two rings and two FMVPs, Harden has padded stats and a contested MVP. This is coming from a Harden fan by the way. Kawhi is and has been the better player for the vast majority of his career.
When he kicked out dwight and cp3 he was an mvp candidate, now hes a 2nd/3rd option on the clippers. He doesnt hold the authority to kick anyone out like that anymore
Didn't want Powell because he has multiple years on his contract. They got 2 FRPs to trade with expiring contracts at the deadline now, so they can go after another player this year and still have cap space next offseason. Philly got a good return all things considered
It's not gonna work, James Harden don't have heart to win, Russell Westbrook is not the prime Westbrook from OKC, Kawhi and PG load management, LAC will gonna become one of the disappointed team in the NBA history just like nets, so no expectation for that team
What I don’t understand is how are the Clippers going to work with all of these similar type of players. Russell Westbrook, James Harden, and Paul George are all ball dominant players.
@@dansheshe8039 i want the best players to be healthy for the playoffs. Also them being catch ans shoot players is not a bad thing at all. Check their %s. Theyre elite
The argument that the 4 stars can't play together makes little sense, PG and Russ have play together and harden and Westbrook as well they figured out that they need space and the clips are better and more top heavy so a believe they will play well together they just need continuity
"the clippers got James Harden so good on them", no not good on them, he has quit on 3 teams now, which I wouldn't care about if he was in shape, and played well in the playoffs. I don't know why the league does something about players like Kawhi sitting out (people hate to admit it, but this isn't the NFL, the regular season doesn't matter as much, if you told me that Kawhi healthily sat out 20 games, but he's healthy for the playoffs, I'd say where do I sign), but meanwhile are just sitting around while players like Ben Simmons and James Harden straight up defame the image of player empowerment. The league needs to input a descritionary principle wherein we can all say to Simmons ,for example, "no dude, you passed up a wide open lay up, haven't improved your game at all, and haven't played well in the playoffs. Shut the fuck up about your mental health and get better at the game, WHILE PLAYING WITH THE SIXERS". Kevin Durant is another example, the league needs to do something about diva players annoying people into trading them.
Shoutout to Morey for making a good trade. For the Clippers, still a hipotetical situation if they are going to win big. I don't trust the fact that Harden and Russ will be the 2nd and 3rd option of this team in the playoffs, they are pretty inconsistent and they choke a lot of times. Man, Batum was such a great key role player for the Clippers.
For the Clippers who's gonna slow down Giannis, Jokic or Embiid? RoCo was that guy but they traded him... And what happens to Terrance Mann and Bones Hyland minutes?
@lucaswalker7271 What? 😂 Man, you ain't gonna get the best out of Kwahi if you want Kwahi to guard the best opponent player every night Kwahi has to be a bit more free
If the Clips really want this to work Russ has to the PG, a true PG. They could have great spacing with Kawhi, PG, and Harden all being able to hit the 3. Russ has to think distribute the ball and this could be great. And Harden would have to play off the ball. But we all know Harden won't do that and Russ won't play like a traditional PG so it'll be a mess cause neither Russ or Harden can play off the ball. Also, it got reported that Danny Green had restructured his contract to help the Sixers this season. And then they waived him. Morey sure knows how to treat his players 🤦♂
I'm so sad I was expecting a full reality show resolution where Morey and Harden have a teary eyed press conference where they announce they're staying together
Is impossible for Ty lue to direct harden and Westbrook to move more off ball. Or run more plays ? Since they respect each other for their own accomplishments, they will play like their at Rico Hines frfr
Both teams won this deal in my opinion. Clippers get an elite playmaker who can open the floor, while also managing to keep Norman Powell and Terrance Mann, they also sneak in PJ Tucker, who we'll see what happens with him, maybe LA will use him more like what Miami did. Philly for now, massively upgrades their bench with guys like Roco and Batum being better than Danny Green and Daniel House, and they also have the ability to add a player at the deadline, probably Derozan, or OG.
Gonna give up on supporting Harden, maybe that’s why he’s never had success. Gonna stay on the Maxey-Embiid duo, they’re heaps fun to watch. Edit: Playoff success lol. Still a top 5 regular season offensive player of all time.
Clippers let go the weakest of their bench. They still have Norman Powell, Terence Mann, Mason Plumlee, and now PJ Tucker off the bench. You can also go the route of placing Westbrook in a 6th man role and start Powell or Bones instead so there’s so intangibles there between their starting 5 and the bench
The 76ers got a hell of a lot more in return then I expected they would. I honestly thought they'd end up having to almost give Harden away but tha fully for them there is a team like the Clippers willing to make some bad decisions.
so in other words james harden too lazy to be a second option with sixers gonna be a weird third option on the clippers that dont move off ball lol that team will never win....
I didn’t even start the video but I know there is a bunch of Sixers hate. This guy hates the Sixers and anything they do positive. Probably indifferent regarding James Harden and just filler words.
This is gonna fail. Four ball dominant players. Two band aids. Harden can’t play D. Harden sucks in the playoffs. Westbrook is better in the playoffs but he’s gonna be ducked and he doesn’t like Harden either. So he’ll probably be traded
Came hear wanting to see 76ers and clipper fans perspective about the trade, yet all Im reading here, especially those negative ones against the clippers, are from the Lakers fans perspective. Mf, I don't wanna hear/see your "as a laker fan" opinion piece. What are you doing here voicing your opinion on a 76ers/clippers business?
As a westrbtook fan so the clippers being my 2nd team I think this trade is amazing for the clippers , I will say the only thing I think they need is another wing but pg and kawhi will handle majority of that an pj is a decent backup but is short they need one more wing defender outside of that the roster is good The clippers are still deep they run 10 deep plus Russ can easily come off the bench and still provide the playmaking that harden give also this allows pg and kawhi to rest and get easier looks having Russ and harden to set them up and still have Norman they have 5 legit guys who can easily go for 20 or 30 with. pg,kawhi, harden,Russ and Norman Also Russ and harden give them two different styles Russ gives them fast pace and harden more slow pace offense plus the clippers didn’t give up much outside of Roco
@jalonmoore481 I think the trade is good too, imo, the trade actually helped westbrook, too. I feel like westbrook is still the only true point in the squad that can get the role players going, so hardens addition helps him rest. Also Harden in general, provides another pair of healthy legs that will come a long way in the regular season that will take away more responsibilities from PG and Kawhi. Ultimately helping them mitigate the chances of injuries.
