I had a conversation with a JW. As I asked him to take his bible and read some portions to me, he turned a bit nervous. And here is what he had to read: PS 23 "Jehova is my shepherd ..." I stopped him because he wanted to rush over it, and asked him: "What does David say Jehova is?" He rightly answered "A shepherd." Then I aked him to read aloud John 10,11: "I am the good shepherd." I had to stop him again, and asked: "Who does Jesus say he is?" He answered he was the good shepherd. I asked him if he saw the connection. For the kind JW this obvious truth about Jesus was difficult to admit. Somtimes I simply show them a card with the two verses, so they cannot escape. Hope to sow a little seed this way.
This can be bolstered by Luke 18:18-19, which JW's like to use to argue that Jesus denied being God. Jesus happily claims that He is "Good" as well as a Shepherd.

There is no one good but God," another favorite scripture for them. So my question is what Christ referring to his body or to his spirit. Obviously one cannot see the "good" spirit because God is a spirit, which was inside of his body, Jesus. So he spoke to that because of the fleshly mind of others. Flesh is imperfect, gets tired, hungers, thirst, etc.

The connection (at least I) was making was Yahweh describes Himself as a Good Shepherd, and Jesus - Who rightly says that there is no-one good except God - also calls Himself the Good Shepherd (and uses the definite article - He isn't just a shepherd who follows God's will, but is actually *the* Good Shepherd Yehweh has already designated Himself as).
In the parallel account at Mat 19:17 Jesus asks "why do you ask me about what is good? there is only One that is good , if you want to enter life keep the commandments." Jesus was pointing to his Father as the source of what is good not himself. In effect he is saying if you want to know what is good go to God's word. In another parallel account at Mark 10:17 the man first addresses Jesus as Good teacher but when he addresses him again in Vs 20 he only calls him teacher, he evidently understood that Jesus was saying it was God that was good not himself. The statement that only God is good means he is the ultimate example of good, it doesn't mean no one else can be called good, remember God looked at all he had created and saw that it was good . Gen 1:31 As for the good shepherd the greek word for good is Kalos, the word used by Jesus when he said no one is good except God was agathon so we cannot easily connect the two expressions.
I once allowed a couple of JWs to enter my home. I was like, "So what would you like to talk about?" And they were all, "I'm not sure. People usually slam the door in our faces and you are the first one to ever let us in."

I may not agree with Jehova’s witnesses, but I do admire them greatly. Same goes for Mormons. I am Catholic. I’ve had Jehova’s Witnesses knock on my door, talk to me, leave pamphlets. Same for Mormons. But I’ve never had a Catholic or Baptist, or Orthodox knock on my door. Not once. Say what you will about Jehova’s witnesses, the one thing you can’t say about them is that they’re not spreading the good news, as Jesus instructed us. All that being said, I’m still a Catholic.

The main difference with the NWT, apart from "Jehovah" being throughout, is also words and ideas related to the "Church" & "Cross", which i would guess 100% of every other bible has in it or on it. here is another most powerful argument for the trinity. In regards to the ressurection , Jesus says he can pick up his own life , it is said it is by the power of the holy pririt that he was raised and that it was through the father. : Jesus has His own authority to pick up His own life: John 10:17-18 (NIV): "The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life-only to take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father." It is by the power of the Holy Spirit that He was raised: Romans 8:11 (NIV): "And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you." Why do you callest me good? There is none good but one, that is God. Jesus is the good shepherd. Jeremiah 32:27 God is the God of all flesh, so when Jesus lowered himself to be a servant in flesh, Father became his God.

This claim has no credible source. It comes from Alexander Hislop and Gerald Massey. Neither of these men were scholars or historians. You can find this on page 20 of Hislop's " _The Two Babylons_ " book " _In the unity of that one Only God of the Babylonians, there were three persons, and to symbolise that doctrine of the Trinity, they employed, as the discoveries of Layard prove, the equilateral triangle, just as it is well known the Romish Church does at this day. The Egyptians also used the triangle as a symbol of their "triform divinity_ ." Get better sources for your information.

I see you are trying to convince yourself of something so illogical it's not funny. You spoke about JWs jumping around to prove a point. What did you do today? Let's not try to make things complicated to convince ourselves, from one scripture out of a possible 31102 verses. When jesus said Jehovah was greater than him, he was. In a company, a CEO has the most authority. No one gets to override that authority unless he allows it himself. Again, it's just simple logic. The biggest logical thing besides the scriptures that clearly show without having to jump around that Jesus calls himself a son, is that if they are the same, the death of God really didn't happen and that then makes the sacrifice invalid. If Jehovah and Jesus are the same, then God did not die, no sacrifice. Don't try and twist the scripture ls by saying something illogic like only 1 part died. So if only 1 part died, are you saying they are separate. That's right, they are. That's logical and makes the sacrifice valid. Convincing yourself of something so illogical is just pure pride. John Chapter 1 Verse 18 says "No one has seen God...". Who does Isaiah see at the beginning of Chapter 6 and who does the writer see at the beginning of Psalm 102???

No. Not really. JWs have a very harsh, overly punitive shunning/disfellowshipping policy that destroys lives, friendships and families. JWs see themselves as the only true Christians on earth. JWs see themselves as the only people that understand the Bible. Everyone else is wrong. WT/JWs have a huge CSA problem due to WT's skewed policies. WT can't decide what its core beliefs actually are. Doctrines are constantly changing. WT hijacks the minds and lives of JWs by telling them to forgo education and shelve their hopes and dreams in order to slave for WT. There are many other problems with JWs that are too exhaustive to go into here. For context, I'm a 4th generation JW who left WT 12 years ago.
They do make awesome Christians, the ones that leave. Unfortunately they also make atheists of many that leave. The reason is simple. Ephesians 2:7. They are forced by their own translation methodology to render χάριτος as undeserved kindness. The verse would then read ....of his undeserved kindness in his kindness.... 🙃 They are then forced to mistranslate χρηστότητι (kindness) in this verse despite their correct usage of kindness in the other two appearances at Rom 11:22 and 2 Cor 6:6. It goes back to depending on their works for salvation. They have been taught a distorted view of salvation, its all linked to their rejection of the greatest blood transfusion offered by Jesus. This then speaks to the murderous rule of refusing blood transfusions. This may sound cryptic, but once you get a sense of all their doctrines, it becomes clear that their goal is to direct people away from Jesus, and to put their trust in their human leaders. Secondly Isaiah is prophesying of this deity (YHWH) coming in the flesh. John announces this deity and fulfilling Isaiah prophesy. And who did John the Baptist the greatest prophet announce? Jesus Christ God in the flesh. Twist the scriptures? Are you so dense you can't read what it says in black and white? How about 1 Corinthians 10:1-4 maybe this will wake you up.
Psalm 31:5 and Acts 7:59. In the JW NWT verse 1 of Psalm 31 even says he is speaking to Jehovah. There is no squirming around this unless they update their Bible and change it like they've changed other verses.

You ae completely right. These are classic Trinitarian arguments directly from Scripture and you are completely right. And yet for the most part it won't make a bit of diference. You may as well be arguing with a brick wall when you argue with JWs. But I do believe it is a worth while endeavor because sometimes, on very rare occasions it actually works. You can plant a seed that bears fruit many years later without you ever knowing the outcome.

JWs are told by Watchtower NOT to think. "Listen and obey" are WT's words. In fact, critical thinking is pasted with negative labels like "rebelliousness", "pride", questioning God, and "independent thinking". JWs are told to obey ANY direction they are given by WT, whether it makes logical sense or not.
Read 1 Corinthians 10: 1-4 . This tells you who the YHWH of the Old Testament is. This is why you DO NOT LABEL YHWH with a man made name. Paul spoke very strongly to his followers here in Corinthians about who the YHWH is. This is just one place that shows who the YHWH is.
