You know what ONE interaction really shows what type of mom Jess really is? When she was skating with her daughter and asked if she was having fun or whatever and she said “my toes are cold” and Jess responded with “mine arent cold and I’m happy about that”… As a mom if my kid told me her toes were cold - my response would not be to gloat that MY TOES ARENT COLD!!! I’d make sure my kids toes warm up and get proper socks!!! But I’m from Detroit, we skate here. We play hockey. And I know what a Zamboni is.
@jennaa1ja

Exactly 💯. Honestly I'd give my kid my socks. We were hiking and my child had to "do her biz" she would not wipe with a leaf and we used the napkins soooooo um the 1st thing I came up with was my sock 😂 that's what we as parents are supposed to do. Parents should try to make em as comfortable. Oh and no way would my child not be wearing pants wen it's cold out

Australian Here, I also have never or rarely see people wear a helmet on the ice skating rink. I haven't been very many times, but never noticed any sort of head protection, especially on children. It definitely should be a priority, like we have bicycle helmet laws (here in Aus) it should be encouraged to wear head gear in similar if not more dangerous activities.

I have only been ice skating a few times and never noticed any helmets on the ice. BUT when I’ve been snow skiing I have seen smaller children wear helmets. Even had one little bugger crash into me with the helmet in the small of my back. The kid was fine….my back, not so much. I still think it’s a good idea to have helmets when skiing or skating.

@@Mama_Bear524 They offer bowling shoes to protect the lanes. They’re made of special wood and waxed and it’s very expensive to maintain them. Rinks are ‘at your own risk’ which means bring your own gear you feel you need. Otherwise, they would be responsible for everything that went on on them and at that point they would cease to exist due to insurance premiums. Plus, it’s cost prohibitive, too difficult to maintain hygiene with things like headgear and head lice. Would you really want to wear headgear hundreds of others have had on? Ew, no. Leagues, due to the body to body contact, will require gear. Living in a society and having public access to shared amenities means taking some responsibility for your own safety when you live in a highly litigious society. If you want you or your family members to be extra safe, buy and have them wear helmets and pads. Plus, more experienced skaters don’t want to be encumbered with those things and could make them a hazard for others on the ice. Accidents happen. Falls are a part of learning. Most aren’t going to do anything except cause a bruise to a small area on your body, or your ego 😄.

This is something that is private. Even as a parent you shouldn’t be allowed to just give that information to the public so freely. When they grow up the whole HIPAA thing will be a joke because you already put it on the internet as content which you monetized and got paid for. As a Canadian, my mom always put us in snowpants, winter jackets, gloves and helmets when ice skating. We never once thought about how we wanted to wear a skirt with bare legs and no gloves when skating - probably because we knew it would be cold. But I guess Jessfam cares more about her kids looking cute than being protected. Jessfam - knows her kid breaks shit. Also Jessfam - gives her kid her camera then acts shocked when it gets broken.
