The only time someone hit on me in public was Father’s Day 2019. I went out to a movie and happy hour with my parents, and our waiter at the restaurant just kept stupid smiling at me and wouldn’t take his eyes off me even when he was taking my parents’ orders and giving them their drinks. Apparently, my mom noticed it too because she turned to me and asked if I knew him 🤣

I agree that it needs to stop where they post videos of random people asking a question for click bait and freak out over one question. But I’ll never invalidate someone if they get a bad gut feeling about someone or if they chose to not engage with strangers, it’s better to look like an AH to someone and be safe. I used to volunteer for a non profit for trafficking and the RRC, it’s terrifying to hear the methods these people use. I watched a police interview while there from a trafficker talked about his methods of spotting easy victims in public so maybe that has changed my perspective and most people don’t realize that there are so many trafficking victims near the majority of us in the US and Canada as truckstops have a very high amount of s*x trafficking victims at them. If she truly kept seeing him around the store over the next 35 minutes and it was obvious he wasn’t shopping, then I understand being on alert but filming it for content and making wild accusations is gross and she should have just alerted an employee that she just got a bad feeling from the encounter and asked if someone could walk her to her car, because security at stores are trained to look for these spotters and are happy to walk you to your car. Sorry I get your point but at the same time you don’t owe a stranger anything, they can ask an employee, look at GPS etc and we need to be teaching our kids that it’s OK to not be nice to everyone and look like an AH by politely declining to help or talk to a stranger if they aren’t comfortable.

@@asarishepard8171 yes! That’s something that caught me very off guard. When I ran around the corner after my encounter with the woman, there was a man recording me on his phone sitting at a park bench and I didn’t even put two and two together. The police pointed it out to me, that they were more than likely working together. Man or woman, we need to be aware of our surroundings and be smart.

The point where he asked you to go also, is a red flag. If he would’ve just asked about the location, that would have been fairly normal. That’s scary.

OK that is creepy. If he would’ve just asked where it was, it wouldn’t have been a big deal but the fact that he asked you to go with him yet that you have every right to be creeped out and worried over that guy. That is not what happened to her though.

She couldn’t do that because like I wasn’t doing anything wrong. But had it actually been a true event yes, you always ask for that and they have security at target.

I agree! I recently kept bumping into the same couple through Aldi and getting in their way. I said “I am the gift that keeps on giving.” They laughed.
