Then goes on to say how dangerous McGregor is early and how Floyd knew that, so essentially saying Floyd had to play it slow because McGregor is dangerous. Can we all just acknowledge that Pacman-Mayweather was almost 10 years too late. If it happened when it should have, aka 2008/9, Pacquiao would have KO'd Mayweather. That hunger, speed and drive. Unmatched. Mayweather played it smart, waiting several years then put on a clinic as we all know- attacking fighters lose more than defensive fighters over the years.
It might been worse for Pacquiao back then to be honest. Younger Floyd was a lot more aggressive and that would open Pacquiao up to even more counter punches. It would’ve gave Pacquiao more chances to land his power punches and maybe get a knockout but I think Floyd is too big, strong and long for Pacquiao. His chin is very underrated as well.
I remember they were supposed to fight in March 2010. It was written at boxrec too. Then Floyd senior start to request blood test and the agreement fell off.

Floyd asked for a catch weight fight with rehydration clause for a reason. did the same to Canelo and Canelo would have lost to Kovalev. But Canelo got a rehydration clause on Kovalev. we all saw Kovalev get KOed by Canelo, the rehydration clause was a big part of it. He isn’t going to let it look like a money grab freak show because of the lawsuits from the Paq fight that insinuated it was fixed.” And that’s exactly what happened.
I feel like Manny is a dangerous matchup for Connor maybe even more than Mayweather. You know May will calculate and give you time but Manny will connect more on bad habits. And for a partime boxer it might be a early Knockout. If I'm Connor's agent I'll target some other fighter for a pay out.

Mayweather was 2 years out, only had 1 stoppage in his last 12 fights (hand problems) and 40 years old vs Mc. The only thing that favoured Conor was weight (Floyd only fought once at 154) and also that he doesn't go for the KO. Pac on the other hand is a lot smaller but his punches actually have pop and he will put angle Conor and beat him up. Pac has nice stamina even at his age right now...
The early rounds with real speed is where you have your best chance with Floyd. The ricky hatton fight was interesting in that regard and should have been a lot more interesting. The ref broke up any early round close combat so it kind of killed that fight. By the Mid rounds Flloyd then controlled cause the speed has diminished by that time.

In the second Maidana fight he simply got a ref who wouldn’t let Maidana fight on the inside. My favorite Mayweather fight is versus Corrales. His defense AND offense were on another level. Then he became satisfied with winning on points.

The Mosley fight is the fight which cemented Mayweather as the best. I needed to see how he would react if and when he got hurt because it had never really happened before. He got hurt, rocked and literally in the next round put it on Moseley and didn't let up. He went on the offensive. Mosleys trainer said it best, he knew. He said "My impression of the fight … Shane’s going to come out and hit Floyd in the mouth and Floyd is going to sprout a tail, grow wings, draw fangs and claws and turn into a dragon in the ring… and start spitting fireballs"
