Bob had some of the red collection out, and we wanted to cover SOME of the ways to "extend" the useful life of these prettier than their Orange Cousin's saws.
Great info! Love the humour too! Bob cracked me up with the saw that’s a 97 that lives in his ex’s walk in closet! And “we’re not going to run it, you’re only a virgin once!” 😉👍😂
Gents, I have a 670 Champ that my dad bought in the 90's. It still runs but it leaks fuel and chain oil. I don't trust anyone local (Texas) so if you could recommend someone that could help me unleash the power in my Champ, that would be great. I'd like to use it as a chainsaw mill saw. I'll ship it to anyone in the US that will do the job well.
Bob, Walt sure has a long way to drive to get to your house. That is a long way from Cartland to Kingston. I will bet it was a pretty drive sans the snow and sleet. At least, he had sun when he got to your house you better be glad your glasses are not from the VA, otherwise you would have had your nose on the side of the saw to read the model😀.
Yeah, we're 3 hours apart John. I called Walt when he was on his way down and he mentioned the rotten weather he was driving in. I was driving with my sunglasses on; not a cloud in the sky. It's actually unusual for the weather to be that different between his place and mine.
Thanks for this information gold! Any thoughts for an alternate ignition for a Jonsered 52E? I have been looking for a points setup with flywheel but can find one. Darn SEM saws ( I have 910 and 52E).
Morning great videos really good stuff any thoughts on where to get Jonsered 70e chain adjuster bolt And a oil cap short of buying a Saw on eBay that’s mostly complete I’m not finding much any crosses to Huskey for the 70 or was that to early thanks tom
I've got a 630 Super and the carb is driving me crazy - I've cleaned and rebuilt it a couple of times and it won't run. Any leads on a replacement carb? Are Husqies or Poulans compatible? I see Chinese replacements, but the linkages are different; are they easily adaptable? Thanks.
Hey walt, could you clarify a little bit on the piston specs? I have an early 268 I believe non XP with OEM Gilardoni Cylinder. The piston that was in it was a full skirt piston, I put in a windowed piston with an open skirt, is that alright to do? The saw has great compression with a base gasket delete and pop up piston but it only likes to run on choke, I tried to replace the crank seals myself however I think that may be my issue.
The "open" port cylinder really runs best with the skirted piston designed for it. The skirt of that piston is the other half of the transfer port if you think about it. Conversely the "closed" port cylinder needs that windowed piston as the skit will restrict the flow into the lower transfer section. So to keep it simple use the piston that was designed for he cylinder configuration for best results.
@@afleetcommand Thanks walt, I'll go back in and see what I see. Thank you so much for these two new video's, I'm also trying to get a 70E going, runs but erratic Idle.. even with new carb kit. I have crank seals, I'll probably go to a shop and try to watch them put em in for me.
