The communitah is annoying. They will not cultivate you. They will fight you or make your life difficult while you are tryin got so right by them. They will sabotage your efforts. They will scandalize your name. They will want to take credit for your success. They will not be there for you or your family when you need them. JSU wanted the benefits of Coach Prime but not the responsibility. They took his money but did not clean up the financials, accounting, technology, resources, or facilities without his hard work. They did not build on his hard work.
Coach Prime is an economy changing level figure in football and in the public eye. JSU really didn’t believe in what he was doing. They didn’t appreciate it. Now he’s got a much bigger platform and backing. You can see the HUGE difference! This was always about more than money they just chose to make it that simplistic. Huge mistake they made.
I'm glad Deion took his talents somewhere he can get the cash and respect. Always seems like they want black man's talents for free while disrespecting them at the same time. Coach Prime has given us many examples of how to insist on getting their respect based on merit.
We appreciate Coach Prime's service at JSU, my school. JSU got to reclaim some of it's glory and Coach Prime propelled himself into the BIG show. We all knew it was coming at some point. More power to him. I hope the Colorado Buffaloes win the nat'l championship at some point with Shadeur at QB.
Right brother we know others don’t! We loved him the entire time he was there it’s that these others are just jumping onboard he been in Mississippi trying to get the job when Florida State and FAU. After year 1 he been trying to get out of Jackson or HBCUs because of the poor business practices nobody “stole” from him except his wallet on his first game somebody broke into the locker room. Jackson State never took from him he knew the conditions he needed the start to show white folks what he could do and as the businessman he is and the network he has the University allowed to run the program how he saw fit and promote himself through commercials brand deals i literally saw Deion instagram went from 700k to 2 million followers at Jackson now 4 million. Outsiders didn’t believe in him he’s a very intelligent man he has a highly skilled educated staff that is knowledgeable about everything business he put them on going to Colorado in terms of increasing their salary. He took a lot of people from Jackson and improved their life financially I have respect for that, but it’s how he left and those kids jumped in that portal got stuck and no school picked them up, he was a father figure to those kids.
The university and the business community around the JSU campus didn't reinvest the money that Deion generated back into the football program and Prime knew it and got outta there. But truth be told Prime told them when he came it wasn't a permanent thing.

My brother played for Jackson State University before Deon arrived. During that time, the stadium looked like a high school football. We went back after Deon's arrival and stadium felt like an NFL football game. You had celebrities walking around, cameras everywhere, and the games were packed. I got sit on the field with my brother and you could just see the difference in the atmosphere.
The games were packed before Deion got there. Y'all don't have to lie about that. Granted it didn't have the cameras and celebrities, but the stands were definitely packed. Don't lie about that just to defend Deion.

JSU definitely dropped the bag. Even if he was always going to leave, they probably would've had him for another year or 2 had they played their cards right. He keeps winning. He brings in more money & more exposure to JSU. Enrollment at JSU probably goes up because kids want to attend a school with good athletics. Then CDS gets an offer from a better program than Colorado and everyone parts ways amicably. But nope. Folks don't appreciate the hometown discount so here we are.
BGS there's a black RU-vidr in the states who is streaming the CU games on his channel. This dude had over 200,000 people on his live stream. Lol. I went to txsu vs Jackson state game last year And usually they let you ok the field after the game, security would not even let most people on the field for that game. The game was not completely sold out but it was the biggest HBCU game I have ever scene in terms of capacity. And this was the same day that the Astros were playing the world series (and won).
Not only did they run Coach Prime out of town, they did so with his son who is a Pro Prospect, and the other NFL Prospects also... Last Colorado game was the most expensive ticket in the country including opening day NFL tickets, trading at an average of $400 on the open market... They sold +$400k worth of tickets midway through the week for that game...
It was like, how many were going off on Dion for leaving, but leaving out the things Dion was doing for the college and bringing up concerns that were not being listened to by people in positions to do something on that. But. They just ignored him. As if on his level. Was going to take that.
JSU didn't drop the bag because Deion was NEVER staying there. Saying they dropped the bag implies they could've got Deion to stay if they came up with the money. JSU was always a stepping stone for Deion to the white schools he always wanted to coach at. Just that those white schools wouldn't hire him as a head coach, he was turned down multiple times by PWI's before JSU gave him a chance.

@Psych86_: In all honesty, you have no idea how long Coach Prime was going to be at JSU. What we do know, however, is that the despicable way he was treated hastened his departure by 1000%. If the power brokers at JSU had helped Coach Prime, then JSU would be playing CU on national TV. They could've worked their way into the Buffs' schedule, and that type of exposure would've worked wonders for them and HBCU Football as a whole. A rising tide lifts all boats, and Coach Prime could've helped elevate HBCU football in a way never seen before. JSU found a way to fumble a multi-million dollar bag, which wasn't surprising at all, and they may never get that type of opportunity again.
Alot of people in the comments have so much to say yet never touched foot in Jackson prior to Deion's arrival. Most of y'all never even went to HBCUs. It's just all hate and lies just to defend Deion. Deion's gone. Leave JSU and the rest of HBCU's alone. Y'all have done enough damage with your lies and negativity.
Coach Prime wanted them to change their thinking about business and recruiting. However most HBCU President and administration are stuck in a time and mindset. Coach Prime made them step up their game, facilities and ways of getting money for their time. Oh WELL 🫡✌🏾✊🏿💯
