Another bit of irony is that they claim to be concerned about the environment, yet they block traffic, which causes cars to slow down and take more time to drive and have to burn more fuel than if they didn't block the road at all.
That's the idea Einstein. Cities built for cars are unlivable. American cities look dismal to someone like me who safely walked to school from 1 st grade to graduation.
Man I am so glad I live in a state where you can legally hit these types of people with your car when they block the road it's literally illegal to block the road it's a safety hazard

funny thing is cars in the west have so many regulations so they dont release that much toxic stuff its cars from 3rd world countries and china that lack that that spew out toxic clouds
So fun fact. In the US if you disrupt traffic and a medical emergency happens and you impede in anyway, then you have commited a felony! Don't block traffic for this very reason. It can be dangerous!
And in some States it's completely _legal_ to run people over if they're blocking the road. If it was legal in the UK to do that then these people would learn really fast to get out of the way.
@@kabob0077 there was actually a case of a driver running over an activists foot, so even if it was legal, people are probably still gonna do it anyhow.

So fun fact. It's not legal for a convicted felon to possess a firearm regardless of what avenue they went through in order to get it. If they even touch a firearm, if they even inquire about getting a firearm, they can go to prison for 10 years. But plenty of times we're seeing charges like these dropped because the felons are black and putting them in prison would be racist.
I once met a guy who suppoerted these morons. According to him, their actions were justified because The Message was more important, and that I and anyone else who lost opinion of them for their actions was in the wrong.
Show him the photos of people that died in car crashes because of these braindead retards who choose to slack instead of doing something productive and tell that he's probably a direct accomplice to this because he supported them, indirectly got blood on his hands for stupid shit like this
Fun fact. Cars burn MORE fuel when they're driving this slowly. Most cars get to peak fuel efficiency around 20-40 burgers per hour depending on the make and model.
Actually, it's more about the RPM the engine runs on with the most fuel efficient being between about 1200-2000 RPM. As long as you keep it in that area you'll burn the least fuel possible and going faster actually burns less fuel per km since the difference in amount of fuel needed at different gears but the same RPM is miniscule, but you get more km burning about the same amount of fuel. The problem is that the cars running at walking pace waste a lot of fuel because without stepping on the gas the car still wants to got 10+ kph, thus requiering the drivers to brake the excess energy away.

Really horrible that they're blocking the way of a family bringing their newborn child on their way to the hospital, prob delaying the medical attention the child needs. If it was a serious emergency and the baby was DOA, the blood is on their hands. They're screwed.
To be fair, there is a burning bush environmentalist keep dancing around and try to avoid addressing; especially when they talk about "getting back to pre-industrialization levels" and that is "does that include world population too?" It really is hard for them to address that without sounding like it's the second coming of the big H. @@lisztresurrected9438I’ve absolutely heard stories of people just sitting in the road to protest. Nearly getting hit by cars and being confused when they find this out for some reason.
This kind of thing already happened in the states, several times. And each time, it resulted in a significant amount of roadkill. Never forget Reginald Denny.
No two ways about it. These Just Stop Oil people are actually evil. If you have a grieving mother and her family trying to get through and you don't move, you are evil. If you have a woman with a sick baby who is trying to get to the hospital and you don't move, you are evil. Full stop.
If this keeps going, it could prove catastrophic. What if emergency services need to rush to a burning building or rush a dying patient to the hospital but couldn’t because some privileged bums were complaining about oil, protesting on busy streets instead of the sidewalk.
@@skootergirl22apparently all they need to meet the literal definition is an actual singular leader figure and they would be a perfect example of a cult.
If I remember correctly in the UK was one such case. A man was rushing his father in his own car to the hospital because he had a stroke. Needly to say they didnt make way for him. Later the doctors said had he been treated earlier that day, they might have prevented any severe damages, now its too late.
that already happebned in the UK on the M 6 they blocked ambulances and firetrucks causing multiple people to die... i believe some of them got charged though the moment they set foot (quite litrally) on a M road your suposed to be arrested as its highly illegal due to the dangers
There this one video where they blocked a school bus and a mom was begging them to move so her kids can go to school. One of them "activists" literally said, "Ma'am, think about the dolphins" I cant-
I understand that they don't want more oil pumped out of the ground but they have to realize that the world relies on it for practically everything, everything from glasses, plastics, cars (both electric and petrol powered) all over the world rely on that source to maintain their economy movement, this includes cargo ships as well, so that privelege that they have to protest comes from being able to eat a helthy meal, something that also requires oil to run the machinery to plant and harvest that meal sometimes.
This people is starting from conflict theory applied to environment and think humans oppress the environment: they DGAF about humans nor to solve their problems but is all about clout; SJW environment style like greenpeace
They haven't thought that far ahead, and they never will, because the cause doesn't matter to them. They _know_ that obstructing traffic like this isn't going to change anything, but they also know that it's easy to do and that they will almost definitely suffer no consequences for it, so they do it. It allows them to feed their ego and appear moral to their immediate group (which is likely made of people who do all the same things). Notice that they always do these things in places where they don't live.

im gonna be honest, the ability to run people over that are blocking the road on purpose should be legal, think about it: none of these idiots would be standing on the road if they had to go to the hospital because of it!
" none of these idiots would" Oh es, they would. We are talking about the lowest of the low here, who get paid by rich people and politicians to terrorize the masses. They are not particularly bright. One of them sat down in directly front of a truck who tried to take off and was surprised the driver didnt stop for someone he couldn't see.

Doesn't matter if you are trying to stop the taxidermizing of orphan kittens, people aren't going to sympathize or support you if you act like lunatics.
I think that's the point of these "activists". Their leaders were probably paid by oil companies to lure dumbasses to this *cult* _(let's be honest, it's what this thing really is)_ and give genuine activist movements a VERY bad name.
Because cleaning up litter doesn't give them attention, and they couldn't bother to try and do it on a scale like Mr. Beast even though they could probably pull it off with sheer numbers even though they don't have Beast's money. This, of course, ignores the obvious fact that such a massive litter clean-up campaign WOULD give them tons of views, attention, AND positive reinforcement. But it also is only very tangentally related to stopping oil companies. I guess. Idk how they think like that, either.
It would be so much better if they actually went and cleaned up the plastic and trash everywhere incuding in the ocean. They'd actually be liked. But of course they have to be the most insufferable people imaginable while acting like they are in the right.
That clip where these guys climb on a oil truck, unfurling their logo and stuff... and on the side is the driver being interviewed "Yeah but that's cooking oil!" and him and the reporter are both laughing their asses off. It's too hilarious!
9:55 This is genius. Everyone should just crash their meetings and protest them, in their meetings. Like just stand there blocking the entrances with Don't Stop Oil banners. lol
These people could actually put someone in grave danger and are actually helping the people they’re trying to fight against. Gasoline and oil are used a lot even when idle, so they’re just wasting a TON of oil, requiring the oil companies to make more oil because oil demand is skyrocketing. How do they not think their actions through? I know some people are idiotic, but this is beyond idiotic.
stop seeing this as idiocy, this is malice. They are industry plants, at least at the top. They are getting paid to give anti-oil activism a bad, no, a *terrible* name. When activism is rejected by the public because it's activism, you'll never have to worry about the common man potentially killing your profits, no matter how despicable.
They don't think cause these idiots don't drive, else they'd see how the car mileage skyrockets. The more momentum a car has, the less the engine will have to work and as a result, less fuel will need to be used to push the car forward. This basic knowledge of physics is taken for granted by anyone BUT people who actually drive and care about driving efficiently.
I can understand the reason for some activists actions, but if you want people to actually "hear you out", try to protest without infringing on rights, without pissing people off, and also with common sense. And don't just go advocating against something without coming up with possible solutions towards what you're advocating against.
Imagine not having a job or any meaningful obligations, and instead of using your free time to help people, or even just play video games, you decide to stand in traffic all day and piss off strangers.
The greater irony is that by slowing down traffic like this, they are wasting more gas and energy. Even if you have an electric car, its take energy to charge it and not a lot of people realize where that energy comes from.
I remember hearing about a group of vegans shutting down Sydney, Australia around 2016 by sitting in the middle of roads and chaining themselves to cars. The police had to come and arrest them one by one. What where they trying to do? Promote a documentary about the problems in the meat industry.

@@awesomeduuu6979 What accident? A violent mob blocking traffic (including ambulances, fire dept. and police vehicles) and assaulting people and vandalizing said vehicles? These incidents have happened in my state, and our law has been pretty consistent on siding the drivers who were harassed and assaulted. It’s self defense. (We’re not Britain, New York, or California). We don’t reward criminals who get hurt while committing crimes by ignoring the crime that led to their injury. I’m familiar with the principle you mentioned in law, but they are the ones with the “last clear chance” to avoid injury. If we plowed through carelessly that’s one thing. But stopping and warning them, then attempting to drive around only for these feckwits to move and block traffic again is well more than I’m obligated to do before I just move right on.

The first example with the missed flight isn't justification for the police to intervene, I believe, as it's not a medical emergency. So long as the protesters are non-hostile, like @supergamer1388 says, you would be arrested for assault with a vehicle and the police would move to protect them (even if they potentially hate them just as much). The second might've been, but there's also the fact she's in her own vehicle and not an ambulance with the lights/sirens. That I'm not sure of off the top of my head, but it's possible they wouldn't be able to do anything without some kind of proof of an emergency (which you would think that a possibly-dying baby would be, but I kinda mean something like a doctor's note or something.). Still absolutely sucks they can't/won't break it up, but those are probably why.
There should be a law about "If people are actively blocking the road (not construction workers and such, only idiots like these), the driver is legally allowed to run them over"
This reminds me of the vegan stuff of everyone trying to make me drink almond milk, and then they realized almond milk was causing colony collapses in bees and just quietly stopped asking people to be vegan lmao
It isn't, though. The bees used to pollinate crops like almonds are generally loaned by honey operations. The domestic honeybee outcompetes local pollinators, which reduces biodiversity. The fault of the death of wild bees (and, in fact, domestic bees) is the honey industry's. If you're going to make an assertion about a group "realizing" some sort of error, you should stop relying on Piers Morgan level anecdote, and learn to read scientific literature.
When the actions of a protest endanger those not involved, it's not a protest anymore. I'm telling you, one of these days they are going to block the road for someone in a do or die situation, like someone in critical condition needing to get to a hospital.
