Kendall, at the beginning of the show, often framed his commands as questions like "Can we go this, Can we get that?" and would talk fast, in unfinished and panicked voice as if he didn't force on it then no one would listen to hm. Notice that now, Kendall is more calm, in control of his voice, pitch and words. The way he says, "Nah pal, no, down low" is very redolent of Logan's "Nah, pal," and like Logan, he uses short and assertive command just once as if he is the God that Logan was and his word is law. And like Logan would, he pounces on Hugo's hint of hesitation with a threat posed as a joke. Kendall then smiles because he himself has realized how easy it is to get the job done when he discards ethics or morals. Kenny is becoming a killer. And if Logan is wrong then he is watching Kendall from up above, and I think that, maybe, he is finally proud.
Sadly, every time we see Kendall is gonna doing something good, he always blows it up with his arrogance and insecurity. The closest thing that we see Kendall being mature was in Season 2 but then again because he was still feeling guilty of him killing a waiter on accident. Logan, Marcia and Collin are the people who knew what happened and he became Logan's puppy to follow him everywhere. Only later after we see him threw Logan under the bus for blaming him on cruise scandal, he's going back to his old self. He has so many chances right in front of him but he always misses it and blows it up. If only he check himself out or going to rehab, he will be a better person.
well if hugo doesn't feel right doing what ken threated him to do then he should just also confess to karolina n roman n probably gerri too.. then kendall would lose his leverage.
Well given that kendall is calling more of the shots in acting ceo I highly doubt they wanna cross kendall plus what hugo did is extremely illegal and a long sentence for him and his daughter
Lmao just when I was beginning to think Kendall was back on his rocker, he goes and does this. Very cold. Tbh the line across his name in the paper does look like it was crossed out
I think the point is to be ambiguous. I like Kendall but I also think their relationship had soured to the point that Logan just crossed his name off out of pettiness
What do you mean? This if anything shows Kendall is on point again and has the killer instinct now. The character has essentially gone full circle. This is also what Logan would have wanted its the most Logan tactic ever. It’s definitely underlined too he starts under the name “Kendall” on the letter and it’s definitely underneath his name and his old boomer hands failed him towards the end of the mark. Also, he would have just drafted a new statement if it was really meant to be crossed out. Think back to season 2 when Rhea pulled Kendall aside and said “it’s you, it’s always been you”
@@Docklead No, it was definitely underlined, not crossed. Look at the birthday card, Logan knew very well how to clearly cross words lol. No if he had botched the crossing to the extent of only the last couple letters barely making contact with the line, he would have done another crossing line. No this underlining but just the end of the line went a bit wrong. The ambiguity is not made for the watcher (Frank and stuff clearly make us understand that they see it as underlining when they chat together), it's made to justify the tension between Shiv and Ken, with Shiv being jealous and in denial. I think the last conversation between Logan and his kids was made to make us understand he didn't want to fight them anymore (the symbol of him apologizing is obviously a major thing: he never does, but there he did to get his children back), we see him talking about death with whoever, he doesn't want his kids to be estranged from him. He wasn't in a vindictive mood with his children in the end
@@Daruudes Not really lol, If anything, he was the only competent sibling. Afaik, he never kicked his siblings out of the company, did he? Shiv, meanwhile, took the company out of family control forever and ruined it for them all.
@@therealkendallroy So competent that every time he was given a role of significant power he fumbled it away with insecurity, immaturity and foolishness. If you came away from Succession thinking that Kendall was competent, I don't know what to tell you. None of the siblings are competent and most of that is due to Logan. And btw, Kendall was constantly plotting to take sole control despite telling his siblings otherwise, he's Shiv on an opposite side
@@DaruudesThat's more about his mental health, but he knew way more about running the business than his sibs. Also, that was only about being CEO. Kendall didn't want his siblings to run the company as its head, and rightfully so. They wouldn't be kicked out of the company though and they were members of the board anyway.
Wish it was literal, haha Kendell overheard Hugo talking to his daughter about her leaking sensitive information, and he mentioned him being fucked with a strap on. Kendell held onto it, until now
Hugo told someone from his family that Logan had died, and this person from his family (I believe was his wife) sold a lot of her company shares before the news of Logan's passing were made public, meaning it's highly suspicious, how did she know the value of the company was going to plummet unless someone told her? someone who happens to work an important job in that company and was with Logan on the plane when it happened. It's insider knowledge and illegal. We see Hugo talking on the phone complaining about the situation, saying that she "fucked him with a strapon" by doing that, as now he's in trouble to. Kendall heard this phone call and later Hugo told him what had happened to get ahead of the situation, then Kendall used it against him to blackmail him
Earlier in the episode, Hugo asks Kendall for advice about some insider trading he did. Kendall is implicitly threatening to pass that on to the authorities.
