My strata heat wire is the correct length and I have embedded the splice in the strata heat mat the correct distance from the wall. I have way more cold lead than necessary. Can the cold lead portion of the the strata heat wire be shortened without affecting the system.

Does the mud plate needs to be installed horizontally or vertically? A very important info that is missing from the manual.

Hi there! Thanks for your message. It would be vertical, to fit the thermostat being installed. It should be easy to figure out on site, since it is only going to go the way that is required for the thermostat being installed, and we sell vertical thermostats. Hope this helps!

Can I cut the wire if I don’t need all of it?

The wire cannot be cut. We manufacture the wire in many different lengths, it is best to purchase the right length of wire to accommodate the square footage you plan to heat. Hi Carlos! Thanks for your message. No, there is a minimum 2x2 tile requirement. You can get around this requirement if you can first place a 1/2" of NXT Level Plus down first. Hope this helps!
