Exactly I feel like all they have to is balance The offense and defense from having too much of an advantage. Then people would watch again because no one wants to watch these dudes basically have their way.
I agree defense needs to be brought back to the game. But no hand checking, please! Hand-checking was honestly the worst (and still is, because a lot of players still do it and get away with it).
NBA is down bad because of 5 things. 🤔 1. LBJ favoritism, teaming up, flopping, crying, stepping on MJ 2. Changing the rules to fit offense 3. Players not caring about the game only their image and pockets 4. No respect for the pass 5. Entitlement of players. My opinion.
You make great points. I agree with you wholeheartedly. I have never seen this level of catering in sports in my entire life. The play-in tournament was created to help him get to the playoffs since he has never been able to make the top eight since going to the West. In-season tournament created to help him amass silverware since he can not catch Kobe or Jordan. It is pathetic.
The NBA has been awful for years. Adam Silver is the main culprit for making the game soft. He doesn't have the balls to be strict. He wants to be the players friends.
Luka exposed the hard fact that Silver made defense illegal so Lebron would dominate. Centers and big men didn't become obsolete because of Steph. they became obsolete because Lebron was being locked out of the paint by players like Tyson Chandler and Duncan who had insane defensive IQ
defense is frowned upon in most cases unless they are known for it they just want to break old records. the whole league way less defence, way more offense. it's soft. i'm not saying they should play like before. but right now you can tech for looking, laughing, pointing. free points, best player ejected. players people came and paid to see. they get ejected for the stupidest reasons or free throws because they drive the basket. defense is just as fun to watch as offense. nobody is throwing insane dunks. it's just 3s. most of the dunk competition guys don't even play in the nba. so there's no real dunks except ja, can't forget ja. a big block is just as good as a big dunk. send it back to the other side of the court. people will love it. grit and grind. not whine and cry players take more 3s than whole teams everyone wants stats, percentages. get a contract. they don't want to go head to head, star to star even in the all star game the stars don't want to dunk, steph was probly forced not to compete. record breaking scoring in the all star game. if people wanted to see the harlem globetrotters they would. all star game was zero defense. just allowing each side to scored. people paid good money and i still seen several empty seats. at the all star game. empty seats make east and west play for home court again internet voting doesn't work anymore. get people who pay to go to a game do the all star vote. as many games they pay to see is the amount of times they can vote
No the problem with Luka is he's just as overrated as LeBron. He benefits from the no defense league. Luka definitely wouldn't have been able to play in pre-lebeon NBA.
@@user-oo7uq9zq3bno current player would be able to play in the 80s, not the same way anyway. They all train the wrong things these days, when you can do five steps and carry the ball in between.
If a large number of people decided not to watch your product while being stuck at home during the pandemic isnt a wake up call idk what is. The Mickey Mouse ring meant nothing, and overall, people would rather not watch the NBA/LeBron
@@damianpresha9833? People like watching skill players like steph. It’s just that people want to watch what happens when the best are guarded by the best. Not the best players getting free layup lines.

Anybody remember CP3 wasn’t allowed to be delt to the Lakers to play with Kobe? But he was allowed to go to the Clippers. That’s when I knew the NBA was full of 💩.
-- My opinion: Greg Popovich started the Load Management scheme, and the players/teams took off with it. Player empowerment is good, but Lebron left in his PRIME (age 26) and TELEVISED it, which is even worse. Then...he kept bouncing but it was back to CLE (which I think is cool), but kept threatening to leave every year so he signed 1 year deals. Sigh. Then...he leaves for LAL (so whatever credit I gave him was lost again).

I'm not form the USA. LBJ is famously known for: Flops Whines Team jumping We don't have the USA biased media trying to convince us that LBJ is a GOAT candidate. Because he is not!
Thats why i support and rock with uncut hoops, he keeps it real. Andre Igudola got on his point forward podcast yesterday and claimed all star weekend made record breaking numbers
You are just like him then, objectively obsessed with another grown man, which is a female trait. What actual mature man gives a crap about some other man they never will even speak to? Pretty pathetic
yes record breaking top scoring but also lowest viewed all star game it makes sense that the NBA is losing viewership though all leagues in America is losing viewership not just the NBA
The disrespect LeBron is showing by having his hands on his knees while in the presence of Kareem while Silver is congratulating him, without the decency to raise his head says all I need to know about him
Part of greatness is not only stats but who you beat, play against, and who you played with. All these super teams take away from the best players greatness.
Michael Jordan played five seasons without Scottie Pippen 84-85 38-44..First round exit 85-86. 30-52..First round exit 86-87. 40-42...First round exit 01-02. 37-45..out of playoffs 02-03. 37-45..out of playoffs Lebron james has won more playoff Series' than any player in NBA HISTORY LeBron james carried an absolutely horrific 2007 Cleveland Cavaliers team to the nba finals In the modern NBA era (post 1960) only nine NBA top 75 players have won a championship without another top 75 player as a teammate Rick Barry (1975) Bill Walton (1977) Hakeem Olajuwon (1994) Tim Duncan (2005) (2007) Kobe Bryant (2009) (2010) Steph Curry (2015) (2022) LeBron james (2016) Kawhi Leonard (2019) Giannis Antetokounmpo (2021) As you can see, LeBron James is on the list and Michael Jordan isnt Lebron james has won 17 playoff series, without an nba top 75 teammate. Michael Jordan won ZERO In the year before Michael Jordan and LeBron James joined their team and the year after they left their team, their records were 83-84 bulls 27-55 84-85 bulls. 38-44 92-93 bulls 57-25 93-94 bulls 55-27 98-99 bulls 13-37 without Scottie Pippen 00-01 wizards 19-63 01-02 wizards. 37-45 02-03 wizards 37-45 03-04 wizards 25-57 02-03 cavaliers 17-65 03-04 cavaliers 35-47 09-10 cavaliers 61-21 10-11 cavaliers 19-63 09-10 heat. 47-35 10-11 heat 58-24 14-15 heat 37-45 2013-14 cavaliers 33-49 2014-15 cavaliers 53-29 2017- 18 cavaliers 50-32 2018-19 cavaliers 19-63 2017-18 lakers. 35-47 2018-19 lakers were 20-14 when LeBron James got injured on Christmas day. As you can see When LeBron James joins a team, the team improves more than Michael Jordan and when LeBron James leaves a team, the team always goes into the tank. Michael Jordan, excluding the 94-97 seasons, when the NBA moved the three point line to 22 feet, was a career 28% three point shooter. LeBron James is a career 34% three point shooter Michael Jordan was a great defensive player, in an Era where you could handcheck. Playing defense is much easier when you can handcheck. For nearly 6'9 250 LeBron James' entire career he wasn't afforded the opportunity to handcheck. THE EVIDENCE IS CLEAR..LEBRON JAMES IS THE GOAT!!!!! I have added a Postscript So many have replied, that LeBron james didn't make the playoffs his first two years and Jordan did. What they fail to say is, in 1985, 16 of 23 teams made the playoffs. In 2004, 16 of 29 teams made the playoffs. It was MUCH EASIER to make the playoffs in 1985, as opposed to 2004. Perfect example is, the 1985 86 bulls went 30-52 and made the playoffs and the 2004 05 cavaliers went 42-40 and did not make the playoffs. Also, I don't know, possibly, maybe, Jordan had a HUGE ADVANTAGE considering he played three years of college basketball and LeBron James was 19 years old, and straight out of high school
@@vicepresidentmikepence889 aye bro, instead of simping for LeBron like a little girl. Focus on recovering that political career and rethink about sending our money and resources to Ukraine 😂
Not only does the constant trades hurt the teams, but also fans will be less likely to purchase player merch since their future on the team isnt as solidified as it used to be.
I'm the same age as Shaq and have been watching the NBA for over 40 years since I was a kid. I can't even stomach watching the regular season anymore. Even though I love Curry and his game since 2011, I hate seeing everyone else shooting threes because they're not Curry. Hardly no midrange or post game. Everyone gets away with traveling, palming and carrying with no touch defense. The only time they're allowed to play defense is in the post season which is when I start watching. They've killed the game I've loved my entire life. Even Steve Kerr said they're not allowed to play defense anymore. Then there's the worst reffing in any sport. This is by far the weakest era. And I definitely can't stand the sight of LeFlop Lame.
I also point at ‘the Decision’ as being one of the most disgusting moments in NBA history, if not sports history. Forget the narrative of “he wanted more help.” Instead it’s having an ESPN ‘special’ rampant with narcissism. Hell, ESPN is as much to blame for enabling Lebron even today.
I think the euro players are going to start to take over the face of the NBA like Jokic, Luka and Giannis did. For them, the NBA with how it is played now it is easy to transition from the high team play in Europe and come over here where it’s become iso-ball.
Lebron and Adam Silver are the WORST things to happen to the NBA!!!! Start the GOOD RIDDANCE Tour for Lebron and FIRE Adam Silver!!!!! He changed the rules to BAN Defense. He Spoiled the players and let them run the league. He's like a one of those parents that spoil their kids, they get out of control, and then they show up on Dr. Phil for help!!
not if todays game was played by real players old school fan here id like to see joker , luka etc etc face real defense . gtf outta here clown no team plays defense in the league ur heros would fold like bloody tampons in the 90s ever heard of the detriot pistons or boston celtics from the 80s or 90s better luck next time jr.
I'd like to note that I have never not once been a LeBron fan. His game always seemed to lack that silky smooth finesse I enjoy to watch. Like SGA and Ant Man, love watching these guys. Nothing against Bron. He's definitely one of the goats. But between his flopping and complaining...just not the guy I want to be rooting for.
What you talked about in terms of players constantly hopping teams is part of why I respect people like Dirk Nowitzki so much. He stayed loyal to the Mavs through so many seasons where they either had terrible performance or heartbreaking losses in the playoffs. In my opinion his one championship ring is easily worth multiple of the unloyal superstar players who kept hopping around to different teams.
Can’t wait this castrated lebum era is over wemby is showing Kobe like passion MJ type competitiveness that why those eras was so great and I can see wemby has the desire and heart for that
The essence of the game is being the best possible player. That included being able to shoot/skilled players never been able to be stopped only slowed down.
@@damianpresha9833 I agree, but the rules used to allow the defensive player to make things more difficult for the offensive player. You had to take punishment, make a lot of low-effective shots and earn every point. Today it is too easy to score, points have lost their value because anyone can average 20 points shooting over 50%
@@1stAmendmentorDie1776 They don't need to throw away their product, just tell the truth and protect the legacy of those who did it before with a higher level of difficulty. “The game changed, today we have a more open, less physical game that prioritizes the spectacle. “It is not better or worse than the past, it is simply different and cannot be compared.” Ready!! Everyone draws their own conclusions and favorites. But instead they seek to create controversy by making comparisons of the past vs. the present without taking into account the context. A 25 ppg player with 48% fg today IS NOT BETTER than a player with the same numbers in the 90's, the value of the stats is different.
NBA is trash, as a Laker fan they are trash. Completely gutted a talented young team for AD and 1 chip with an asterisk. Gimme back Randle, Ingram Kuzma, Zubac, Clarkson etc.
It started under David Stern wanting to make the league more " Global " Silver and LeBron just teamed up and perverted the league into it's current decay...
I remember over a decade ago saying LBJ will ruin the league. Sad part is, there’s a whole new generation of fans that love the new version of the NBA. The ratings for this years ASG was higher than the last few years! The old guard of fans is going to phased out.
It was only higher than the worst year ever last year. The viewership was still statistically a flop. Two years in a row with the worst ratings in NBA history, but I get what you're saying
Good riddens. No one wants to hear the "back in my day" BS 90's fans spew about an era filled with less skilled and talented players than today, a majority of whom would not be on NBA rosters in this era. The 90's - glorified 1 on 1 ball with no zones and hard fouls, in a decade in which 6 teams were added via expansion which diluted an already weak league into a weaker league. MJ is the equivalent of Wilt Chamberlain, an athlete so much more athletic than his peers and contemporaries that counting his stats against weak competition is simply ridiculous. And before anyone brings up Clyde Drexler as an equivalent to MJ, look up how many defensive teams he made (zero) and how in the media/context of that time, Drexler was never considered even a "good" defender. In summary, the only guy in the league who was remotely as athletic as Jordan, wasn't even an elite defender. Enjoy.
@@Reaper13-hi3yomore people watched the nba then than now. No one wants to see a bunch of feminine looking guys chucking up 3s and flopping. The players today care more about their bank balance and social media presence than winning
the all-star game was like the platonic ideal of all the ways the modern nba has become unwatchable. the more points teams score a game, the less each individual basket matters. bring back the early 2000s defense era.
I think hand checking needs to make a comeback along with taking away 5 sec in the paint rule, three pointers are at a all time high those rules are outdated.
Honestly, the postseason is the only time the nba is relevant to me on a consistent basis. The fall has football and the spring and summer have baseball. The winter has hockey which isn’t as popular, but at least you can tell the players care and are putting in effort into the game
I was drawn to basketball by the competitive mindset the players had in the 90s. Now that’s practically gone, I’m curious what the younger generation finds appealing in todays NBA.
The Curry vs Sabrina matchup I think points to the direction that gets players to put on a better show. Something like grudge match 1v1 (ex. Luka vs Booker, Wemby vs Chet) or dunk offs would make the top players more competitive and wanting to take part. They already do unnecessary bs like skills challenge they can replace
Put on the shoulders of International, especially European players the future of the NBA, forget a bid about American players. Guys across the Atlantic Ocean really know how to play defense. Change rules back to hand-checking, decrease scoring a few points, let defense plays determine the outcome of games and you'll get the league back on its feet.
I completely agree, adam silver and the lack of defense has made the NBA so baby soft. If rules such as hand checking were still here then we would see much tougher and more worthwhile games while scoreing 40+ points would actually mean something.
It's easy to blame them but AAU should cop some blame they raise these divas then when they get to the NBA they are spoiled brats the coaches like Silver have no balls.
The problem is more Adam Silver and others high up in the NBA, than Lebron. Lebron and Rich Paul is just taking advantage of what Adam Silver and his minions are giving them and other star players. They wanted a players league and this is the results of what Adam Silver has been pushing from the start. Adam silver has ruined a league that has become popularized by the 90's era of basketball by selling out the league to pandering to politics, the media, and social media. Kobe, rest in peace, is definitely rolling over in his grave right now watching this fuckery called the NBA.
