My thoughts as I watched 😂 1. I love the iconic Elisa bodice. 2. The skirt godet is very clever 3. That is a very clean finish! 4. I love that this is a dark, moody tennis dress. 5. I am picturing a dark version with strategic glittering beads covering the skirt, to make it ultra Great-Gatsbyesque!
I tried the amelia dress pattern today (a mockup with both curvy and straight darts) and it fit really well. So happy! Ever since I put on weight I just feel that nothing fits, but this dress did and looks awesome! I will probably try it in a jersey as well (apart from cotton and viscose) and will size down for that.
Oh I love to hear that, and that you want to make another one, thank you so much! I would love if you could share your version in a review on Etsy, only if you find the time of course 🤗
Very exciting pattern! The serendipity of this is chef’s kiss! I’ve been craving a boatneck + no waist seam + slanted hip inserts with a plain straight front panel for a few months now, and have been too scared to draft myslef. I thought self-drafting would be my solution, but self-drafting has been proving trickier than I had anticipated (even if it’s a really enjoyable challenge). So I love love love this, I can already see it in a midi/maxi length version, in a plain pastel yellow linen viscose, or viscose challis…. Can’t wait for the pattern! Thank you so much for this ❤
That drop waist is sooo beautiful! As a plus size person that lower tummy is not a spot I want to accentuate. But I am sure a lot of people would love this pattern.
Thank you so much, glad you like it 🥰 Absolutely it could - I am thinking about what other versions of it I want to make and this definitely crossed my mind.
I have been seeing dropped waist dresses and I never paid much attention but... I have to say your version got my attention 😆 Still not sure if it is for me but it looks great and does give you a very nice silhouette.
Thank you! I have a tutorial on how to create basic bodice block: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zsED92D1qm4.html Haven't made videos for bottoms or sleeves, but might in the future :)
Such a cute design! This one might get me those curve looks I need for my box body shape lol people think you can wear anything if you're thin ish but when your waist isn't much smaller than your hips it's so difficult to find a silhouette that looks great on your body type.
Thank you! Awww haha I get you - often the silhouettes we can't pull off are the ones we really want (at least that's what it is with me)! But I imagine this looking cute on a straight torso as well - maybe you'll give it a go! :)
it reminds me of the purple dress that Anya wears in the animated Anastasia movie (And yes the main blue dress is so pretty) but that purple dress is my favorite
Love it!!! Such a beautiful dress 💕Just wondering, did you come up with the center back curve based on calculation or just your feeling? I always encounter bunching fabrics at lower back and wondering if this could solve it.
Both! I tweaked the pattern ever so little after making the mockup that I showed in the beginning of the video, and took out a little bit of length in both the front and back waist area. I added the curve based on feeling though, and luckily it turned out great :)
This is the one, I'd love to pattern test this for you (having a pretty extreme pear shape myself, I think this'll be a fun little challenge) 😍 I'll remind myself to keep an eye on your Insta. Btw, what do you think of thew new Beyoncé album?
Yay, love to hear that! I do tester calls in my Instagram stories and plan to get that done by the end of next week :) THANK GOODNESS someone finally asked me what I think about it haha. I’m obsessed quite frankly. I‘m listening to it every day and ordered the vinyl although I don’t own a record player, which tells you everything you need to know. What do you think?
@@ThrillsandStitches Also about Cowboy Carter: it is amazing, I love what it stands for, Bey is a legend, I frankly love every song on it which was really unexpected for me because I'm not a country girly at all!? She's done it again!
Thank you! You could easily extend the skirt panels by just adding a few inches. I will also very likely offer two length versions for my pattern, so you could choose :)
